"Great product. Easy and simple to use. It was fun to drive to the course for the first time, and see the unit recognize the course. As I drove up to the parking lot the Golflogix was counting down the yards to the center of the green on the first hole. The best thing about the Golflogix is the logic and simplicity that is built in. You don't have to do anything but look at the unit and play. As you walk, i..." Read Full Review »

"I used the this GPS for 8 months and it worked great. Then for some unknown reason it started giving exaggerated distances and would not not recognize some holes on the course. I made over 7 attempts to contact customer support - without luck and after waiting 20 - 40 minutes on each attempt. I also attempted to reload the software. This only erased my downloaded courses. At this point all I had was an expensi..." Read Full Review »

Garmin GolfLogix GPS-8 Golf GPS System Review
"Simple to use, loading courses at home and playing on the course. No pictures, no hassle. Just a press of a button and you're on your way. If all you want is critical distances throughout your game, all you need do is look at the display. It keeps up with you, automatically. I love it! But I must admit, it hasn't had any effect on my putting!"
"Dear Muzzlestuffer,
This will help with putting, follow these steps:
As you approach the green, give the thing to your playing partner.
As your turn to putt comes around make reference (the more theatrics the better at this point) to one of the features.
While he is looking at the GPS, kick your ball toward the hole."

As you walk, it advances to the next hole showing all of the relevant distances you need.
The only drawback is the battery power needed to load courses. It will wipe out 2 AA batteries pretty quickly. But since you can load 20 courses at a time, the chances for most people needing to download more than once or twice a season is fairly remote. It would be nice if it had an option for a power cord to be used when downloading courses.
The battery life while on the course is excellent. They claim 17 hours or so. I would not doubt it, because I played one round and the batteries are still at full charge. It is nice that the unit takes AA batteries rather than having a built in battery, because we all know those tend to go bad over time. You can put an extra set of AA batteries in your bag for those times when you need to make a switch while on the course.
Overall, the Garmin Golflogix is a great product. Just clip it to your bag and go."

Garmin GolfLogix GPS-8 Golf GPS System Review
"After reading and researching literally ALL of the models, I finally decided and purchased the Golflogix GPS. Boy have I been pleased!! First of all it was EXTREMELY easy to load and understand. I had it up and running in about 30 minutes, including time for it to acquire satelites.
Then I was even more pleasantly surprised when I took it out to play my first round. Playing on a very difficult course that I had never played before, with a distance of 6500 yards and a slope rating of 138, was quite a challenge. However, having the Golflogix was a HUGE help!!
I wasn't really sure what real help a GPS could be for a hacker like myself (21 handicap) but having the unit provide me distances to hazzards, bunkers, etc and then also suggesting up to three layup yardages, was about as close as I can imaging to having a caddie!!
Without realizing it I was making better shot decisions based on the info and was thrilled to shoot a 96 on such a difficult course for the first time!! Now this is not a good score for a REAL golfer, but for a hack... this course could have easily produced a score somewhere in the "hundies"!! LOL
I have seen other GPS models and while they offer more "bells & whistles" this one to me is everything you need in the simplest format possible.
I am thrilled with my purchase decision (thanks to my wifey for the SECOND best Christmas present I will get this year!! (wink-wink)"

"After a difficult time loading and downloading courses, etc., things have gone smoothly. The difficulty was apparently with my system, but this was not easily determined. There are improvements over the earlier product, which make this one much more useful (such as layup yardages etc). Thus far, the yardages have been very accurate."

"I had a similar experience with their customer service. The unit is fine, but I will never buy anything from this company again. Customer service has value."
