"For the first 8 to 12 months the unit was mostly working. It requires constant cleaning though and the solution you have to use costs $20 a bottle and you have to clean it monthly to keep it going. "We have become ice snobs because of this machine. Great ice and we use a lot here in Florida. This is a new home install, 90 days old. We are having the optional drain pump replaced because of noise. We also have a Ionics water softner (I believe a water softner is key) So far we love it... "

"This machine makes great ice when it is working. But most of the time it isn't. I've had more service calls than I can count and GE service is very inflexible on timing. It's broken again and this time I give up. I'm looking for another brand. "
