"I used this pack as my primary day pack for a Mt. Kilimanjaro trek and continue to use it as a go-to day pack. Pros: This pack has lots of padding, which is nice for extending hiking. "Surprised that none of the reviewers have mentioned that this pack does not work for small people and/or women. I am an average-sized woman, and the shoulder straps and chest strap were way too big. I tightened the chest strap as far as it would go, and it was still very loose. The shoulder straps are wide and stiff and cut into my chest in a very uncomfortable way. Bought it online and had to return it because ..." Read Full Review
"I have used this pack as my main day pack for a trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro as well as numerous day hikes in and around the Shenandoah Valley, VA.
Pros: The waist strap on this bag is crucial; provides nice support for a day pack which allows you to really load this bag down for a long hike. The padding is also comfortable. There are a number of pockets and options for storing gear which is nice, but with the limited space (it is only designed as a day pack) there are limitations to what it can carry. I have fit rain gear, lunch, extra shoes and a camelbak in the pack and it fits pretty well. The media pouch is convenient for camera use too.
Cons: There are way too many straps on this bag. While it's nice to be able to customize your fit, some of the straps are too long and serve no other purpose than as opportunities to get snagged on trees/branches. While light, the ventilation when on your back is something to be desired. After a short period of hiking, my back heats up quickly; I've used packs with better ventilation before.
Overall though, the price was right and this is a solid pack for many outdoor uses. I'll continue to look to it as my primary day pack."

Pros: This pack has lots of padding, which is nice for extending hiking. As others have stated, the media pocket is convenient for camera use. There are also a variety of pockets which is nice. The waist belt is crucial and very useful for maintaining stability. Also, any rain I have experienced while wearing this pack never got inside.
Cons: There are way too many adjustable straps. While it's nice to have custom fit options, there are two at the top of the shoulder straps that do not servce any purpose than to provide opportunities to be snagged on trees and such. Also, while the pack is light, it isn't very well ventilated my back tends to heat up very quickly.
Considering the price I got it at however, the pack is definitely worthy of purchase and I will continue to use it as my go-to day pack for hikes and other trips."

Cons:
"this pack is pretty decent for day use or brief overnight stays. the amount of storage isn't that great, but is to be expected for the size of the pack - afterall it is a daypack. it is very comfortable with weight, as comfortable as my full size excursion pack. the cell phone storage and hole for headphones is very convenient.
i agree with the other review, the zipper seems to be of poor design. however, in its defense, the zipper design helps keep moisture out. i've been in the soaking rain and my contents remained dry. the design doesn't boast this feature, but it held true twice. the zipper area is usually a weakness for moisture, but not with this sack.
if you can put up with the zipper that just doesn't open as easily as some others, it's a great day pack."

"This was my first day pack purchase and worked very well for what I needed it to do. Making my hike to the summit of Mt.Sherman all the easier. Many adjustments for all straps and made it easy for it to comfortable on my back. The only drawback to the pack was my bladder didn't really have a place to put it properly. I would have liked to see something that holds it more securely. Overall I was very impressed."
Pros:
"1. I use this pack to commute to work. I load it with clothes, food, and water bladder and it fits comfortably on my back! In addition, I use it to carry my computer which fits snug in the inside sleeve.
2. I also used it to travel and found that I can fit many things in it, like food, water, snorkling equipment, towels, and more...
Great overall pack."

Cons:
"Pros: Spacious for the overall size and weight: I put my school books, laptop computer and jacket in there with no real difficulty. Relatively comfortable: Though it’s hard to fit a lot of heavy gear in it, the waist straps are nice for day hikes when your girlfriend doesn’t want to carry anything heavy. I really liked the little media pouch on the shoulder strap. When I was hiking at Rocky Mt. National Park, I didn’t miss any photo-ops by keeping my digital pocket camera in it.
Cons: The zippers are a bit tricky; they can get caught in the waterproof flaps. This only seems to be a problem when I want to open the bag quickly. It could be an issue if you have to get your bag checked everyday for work or school or whatever. The lack of pockets doesn’t bother me much but it can make organizing gear a little more challenging…not that you have much to organize; it’s a day pack.
Overall: I like this pack. I originally though it might be too small, but it’s a great sized day-pack or for an overnight hike in the warmer weather. I use it every day for books and things. Very adjust able and comfortable. I’m amazed that for the price, it has not sold out yet."
Pros:
Cons:
"The pack is great and highly functional the zippers are just a little hard to handle. They either disappear below the side straps and are hard to find or get caught up in the rain flap. With a little patience and practice one can get the art of zipping this pack down pat. I am still very happy with the pack and would recommend it!"
Pros:
"I picked up this pack with the 20% discount, bringing it under $50. I have only had it out once so far, so I can't speak much for it's durability over the long term, but it seems well made.
First off, the zippers. I can see how people might initially have problems with them, but they're easy to overcome. Before using the zipper, fold the fabric back up over itself, exposing the zipper. There, works easily now, and it doesn't seem to be too hard on the fabric.
Second, the hydration pouch is nothing more than a large general purpose pouch with a hydration port above it. It doesn't provide much protection for the bladder. I cut a piece of cardboard to go along the the inside of the mesh pouch to keep anything from puncturing a full bladder. I think this will work in the long run.
Those items being mentioned, I really like this pack a lot. The compression straps are nice for those times you don't have to fill it completely, but it's got plenty of room for when that's needed. I like the functionality of the daisy chain, as I used the provided velcro strap to hold my trekking poles when they're not needed. I'm a big fan of the ten essentials, plus one or two more, and with this pack you'll have no problem carrying them.
The back ventilation and padding are nice features in warmer weather and there are lots of different places to adjust the pack to fit comfortably. I did not use the sternum strap, but the waist strap was very comfortable. I imagine I'll like the sternum strap more when I shed a few...ahem...pounds...ahead....that I've accumulated over the rainy Pac NW winter/spring.
Great pack for the value."
Pros:
"An overall good pack. I have not had any trouble w/ the zippers, as noted by others. In fact, I agree that they keep out the rain (many bike trips home in the rain and the contents stayed dry). I have a few minor complaints:
1. It does not stand up when set down. I like a bag that will not topple over constantly and stays where you put it!
2. The top of the pack sticks up past the straps enough to make it very annoying when I wear a helmet (which is always when I'm on my bike). It forces my head forward a bit. Although I was able to adjust it to make it a bit more comfortable, this affected the ease of opening the bag a bit.
3. The pack is very loooong and the side straps make it difficult to easily access the bottom of the pack for small things.
I think these are all small issues, overall, but enough that I would not buy the bag again for my purposes. If these things don't matter to you, then it's a great bag!"
