"I keep it running all day and only need to refill once a day. It can be a little bit of a pain to clean the heat element but that depends on your water. My parents have an identical one and have no problem what so ever. My house seems to have more calcium in the water so I have a higher build up. This is the easiest humidifier to clean. I can get everywhere necessary without having to unscrew items like other un..." Read Full Review

"This recent incarnation of Honeywell's humidifier isn't as good as their previous one, the HMW-2030, which I've had for 4 years. This one steams pretty quick but requires frequent cleaning, like every two weeks, to remove the mineral deposits on the heating plate. In my 4 years of ownership with the HMW-2030, I've only cleaned it 4 times. Yeah, there's mineral buildup on the heating element but it still will wor..." Read Full Review
"I bought this humidifier to increase humidity in a piano room during cold dry winter months--and not feel so cold (as with cool mist models). It works well in a basic way. Quiet, constant, pleasant warm air flows up out of it, easy to refill, not too hard to clean. But the "humidistat" is inconsistent. Some days it's registering what my hygrometer says, but most days it just sits at 20%, which seems to be its default reading. I called the manufacturer & got 2 pieces of advice: move it away from the heat register & turn it on high, let it run down its water, & then refill. I did the latter & it actually worked (even though I didn't move the unit from the very convenient location, near a heat vent)! It started registering a reasonable humidity, but as I went back to my usual practice of running it on low, & refilling a bit before it was completely empty, I usually see the useless 20% reading. So I just use it, as needed (which is pretty much all day these days) in conjunction with my hygrometer (a good one, by the way--the cheap ones aren't reliable). It would be nicer to have a functional hygrometer in the unit because it could then be set to shut off when it reached its target humidity, but I haven't seen one on the market that looks better. Rating is generous--I'd give it a 3 1/2."
Pros:
"I honestly don't know why I waiting in getting this. The wife never gets up to get a drink during the night anymore and we wake up more rested.
The tank is really easy to fill and the cap is designed well. No leaks at all.
The digital hygrostat is great. It's not perfect in its readings, maybe off by 20% give or take, but when you compensate for that, it's nice to not have to mess with it constantly.
My only issue is that it doesn't remember your settings. Turn it on and you're defaulted to High, 1 hour, 55% Humidity.
Someone mentioned it's hard to clean, but there's a trick. Buy CLR at your supermarket. It's made for devices like this. Every week I take the tank, tray and base into the bathroom.
Tank - Put a little CLR, fill, close and shake it up
Tray - Fill bathroom sink w/ some CLR and hot water, mix and soak
Base - Where the worst is. I pour raw CLR in. No water. Making sure it all soaks.
After 10-15 min. (disregard bottle directions), everything comes right off with very minimal use of a scrub sponge."

Cons:
"I've only had this product for a day but I chose it for the digital display and ability to set a desired humidity. The other reviews mentioned leaking, but I have had no problem with that. The manual does say not to move the unit when filled or it will leak.
I did have one problem. After set up, the light indicating that the water level is low or cleaning is needed kept coming on and the unit wouldn't start. I called the 800 number and the lady told me I should take it back to the store and get a new one. When I asked if there was anything I could try to fix it, she said no, and was rather rude!! Considering this is a big inconvienence, I fiddled with it instead. All it took to get it to start running was lifting the tank about a centimeter and dropping it back down. Much easier than returning to the store.
So far it is running nicely and is very quiet even on the high setting. I would recommend it, and it has a 3 year warranty (they'd probably just have you take it back and get a new one!)"

This one steams pretty quick but requires frequent cleaning, like every two weeks, to remove the mineral deposits on the heating plate. In my 4 years of ownership with the HMW-2030, I've only cleaned it 4 times. Yeah, there's mineral buildup on the heating element but it still will work without a hitch. The other bad thing with this new model is the design of the water tank. The top is not flat like the old model. When you set it upside down in the sink, it tilts and isn't as stable. I didn't have any issues with the cap. However, I *initially* had leakage from the front and side grills, too. What you have to do is tighten the tube that goes from the heating element to the mist output. For some reason, they didn't assemble that at the factory and it's not in the directions. Once, I locked that tube in place, the leakage issue went away."
"In East Tennessee, most home owners rely on gas for heating their homes and low indoor humidity is the byproduct. On avgerage, our indoor humidity ranged between 18% and 25% for most of the winter. After suffering enough with dry, itichy skin and waking up every morning with a stuffy nose, my wife and I decided to to try this Honeywell QuickSteam Warm Moisture Digital Humidifier .
We notice the difference almost immediately. The indoor humidity level rose from 21% to 46% in about an hour. Our house had never felt more comfortable and cozy. The best feature we like is the fact this unit will turn off if the water resorvoir get low and also when it reaches its target humidity level. You can set the humidity level from 30% to 55% and it's very accurate. Cleaning this unit weekly is very easy.
We would recommend this warm moisture humidifier over the other types as this product will deliver the results you want."
"This unit comes with anti-mineral pads that sit on top of the burner. When I started the unit it would turn and run for about a 2 minutes, then it would shut off and indicate that it needed water or the burner needed cleaning. I took off the disposable mineral pad and now it works fine. I've yet to determine how much mineral residue is building up on the burner."
Pros:
"I have been useing Quick steam for 2 winters.I put the unit in front of my cold air return and set the steam level to the 2nd setting and the humidity setting to 39% .My 800sqft house stays at 50 to 55% and I only have to fill the tank about every 3 or 4 days.It is easy to clean. The best product I have found to get the calcium off the heating disc is CLR or any hard water cleaner.I have also found that you can clean and reuse the filter pads useing the same cleaner. The Quick steam is also very quite. The only problem I have is the cap on the tank is hard to get off.I would recommend the Quick Steam to anyone."
"I bought 2 of these, one only worked for about 5 minutes, then quit completely. The other one seems to work OK. Returned the defective one, but the replacement would not register correct humidity, stayed at 20% all the time. Returned it also and the third replacement works just like the 2nd replacement----20% reading constantly. Othlerwise, it helps the numidity level a lot, but it won't raise the level of an 800 sq. ft. room over 35%. Kaz was no help at all, just suggested I return them! Still better than having a cool mist humidifier, because they smell musty, just like a "swamp cooler"."
"I bought this thing about a year and a half ago. We only use for a few months in the winter last winter and maybe a month this winter before it broke for good. The cap is very hard to remove and repace most of the time it still leaks even after i wrench on it. My wife would not be able to refill this machine. Like i said it broke on me this year. With a full tank it will run for maybe 10 minutes then the empty indicator lights up and it shuts down. Will do this every time. I am getting rid of this thing and buying something that will hopefully last more than 18 months."

Would love to order another for my room as the one I have is in my daughters (however, hd is out of stock)."
