"I am so happy with my HP3600 laser printer. I use it primarily to print waterproof labels for my business. I really struggled with my Lexmark C522 for months trying to get it to print out properly, but I have had no problems with my HP. One thing to note, it does have some printing issues like blurriness, or smudging with thicker paper stock. Try running a calibration to improve blurriness...." Read Full Review

"I have been using HP printers ever since the Laserjet 5P. Actually, I would've never gotten rid of the 5P if not for the trade-up rebate along w/color laser printing benefits of the HP 2550n. This is actually a testament to the high quality and design of PAST models. I've been using only 2 models for the past 16 years and only upgraded because of the upgrade rebate program...not because the printers didn't wo..." Read Full Review
"The 3600n is a solid printer for the money. It is now on sale for[$] at many locations. With the cost of one of the four toner cartridges at [$], I bought two printers just to have extra toner. if you think about it, the toner alone would be over $500. You can throw away the extra printer just to buy the ink. of course having an extra printer around as a backup (if you have space to store it) is better than having one of those extended warrantees.Get em while they’re HOT!Best way to setup the printer is not use the software that came with the product. Go to the HP website and download the current Driver (not the full software package). Then use the Network interface (not USB cable) with a Cat 5 Cable or better. Setup the printer with Local Port, TCP/IP Port after assigning an IP Address to the Printer. This is the best way to avoid all the HP software junk that would run in the background and slow down your computer. In Fact, you can do this with many other simple printers to avoid unwanted or needed software. Of course, you do not get all the bells and whistles...but who needs ink levels, constants searches to internet for software updates, etc.We use for Home and Home Based Business.Per other reviews: it is not flimsy and the footprint is expected for type of machine. No different than my old HP 4000 Laser. It has the fastest initial print time for laser printers I have seen to date...I have used many HP, brother, Xerox, Cannon, etc."

"I have been using HP printers ever since the Laserjet 5P. Actually, I would've never gotten rid of the 5P if not for the trade-up rebate along w/color laser printing benefits of the HP 2550n. This is actually a testament to the high quality and design of PAST models. I've been using only 2 models for the past 16 years and only upgraded because of the upgrade rebate program...not because the printers didn't work well anymore.
When HP ran the upgrade promotion again, I decided it was time to "upgrade" to the 3600 series. When I was in the store and saw the "re-engineered" design of the new HP printers, I was skeptical about its design as I'm an engineer myself. It looked like HP completely abandoned the "straight-thru" paper path design in favor of a design that allows the user to replace toner cartridges easier, which kinda shows you where their PRIORITIES are! I decided to go with HP anyway, seeing as how they haven't disappointed me in the 16yrs that I've been using their laser printers. Well, I think I know why the CEO got canned now. This generation of HP laser printers sucks! By abandoning the TRIED AND TRUE straight-thru paper path engineering design, HP has been able to create something that jams even more than LA traffic!
When I first brought this home, I only printed standard copy paper. That was fine. But, being a small business owner, I eventually had to feed the machine cardstock, legal size and various other kinds of papers. This is where things got ugly. The jam rate was about 20-30%, meaning 1 out of every 3-5 sheets got jammed when fed thru the manual feed paper tray. At first, I thought this was a fluke and maybe I got a bad batch of paper. So, I put up with this until I had to buy a new batch of paper. Guess what? It wasn't the paper that was the problem...it's the printer. By the time I had discovered this, I was past my 30-day return period.
However, since I'm an engineer, I figured out a workaround...I bought a Dell. I'm still using the HP 3600 with just regular copy paper but when that thing runs out of toner, I'm taking it to the shooting range."
Pros:
Cons:
"Overall I really like the ease of use and quality of printing this machine produces. The first one I had broke down twice while under warranty, and HP gave great service on it. The first breakdown required the replacement of a part, which I was able to handle. The second time required an on-site technician who decided to replace the entire machine with a new one due to having two breakdowns in such a short time. This second machine has worked well.
The quality of print is very good whether printing on cheap copy paper or high quality glossy paper. Color printing looks much nicer than any color ink jet printing, and it does nice looking glossy brochures. It does not handle card stock well, though. Card stock feeds through with difficulty and there is always black smudge marks (from rubber rollers?) left on it. So if you want to print color business cards, this is not a good choice for doing that.
Although not perfect, I recommend this printer as a good value for the money."
Pros:
"Currently, I'm using the HP Color LaserJet 3600n as a stand alone printer in my office. The printer is well designed (even though it’s a little big), it was extremely easy to install and it provides great quality printouts either on Black & White or Color. It’s a fast printer with the 1st page out in less than 13 seconds and prints black text at a reasonable 13.5 pages per minute (ppm) and color graphics a bit faster, at 14ppm at the highest print quality. The printer handles paper well, with one of the best feature being the manual input tray, where it can hold more than 1 page, in comparison with the HP LaserJet 2605dn Color Printer which can only handle one page at a time. The only negative thing I can say about the printer is that its a little noise when it starts printing (at least the 1st page), other than that I'm very impressed with the printer when considering that the purchase price was only [$](a bargain)."
Pros:
Cons:
"I am not positive if it's something wrong with the indication system or it's truly consuming more yellow toner than the others. All my other toners are indicating FULL while the Yellow toner is indication near empty on the menu display. Since new I might have printed about 100 pages of average black and some color document. [$] The current price is why so many people are buying an entire printer for just the toners. There are many of these printers on Ebay without the toner. Toner COST is astromical. Make sure you weight that when you purchase these. My intention is to use cheap refills or throw this printer away after I use up all the toners but I had not imagine running out of yellow toner so fast."
Pros:
Cons:
"VG for everyday printing, including web pages, and especially good for non-profit newsletter with a mix of color photos & black and color text."
Pros:
Cons:
"We do mostly black & white printing for the day to day stuff, but I also have to do quite a bit of color printing as well when the time comes for it.
It has beautiful picture quality and very dependable.
When a paper gets jammed (which has only happened because of my own fault or if the paper was to small to feed into it) it was easily removable.
Overall, this is a very good printer. We plan on buying another one for the office very soon."
Pros:
"Comes with full toner cartridges (not starters)With the printer sitting on the network... Initially, the printer required the print queue be stopped and started to get output. HP live support didn't really help. Getting into the printer driver setup and disabling the SNMP section solved the problem. The 3600n is faster than the 2600n that it replaced and prints well. (It was cheaper to buy this printer for [$]than to buy the toner for the 2600n). I probably should have bought a 2nd printer at that price just for the toner."
Pros:
Cons:
"This printer had been in use daily since we purchased. It came with plenty of toner, unlike other printers which give you an absolute minimum amount to start and then require purchasing of new toner shortly after startup.
It prints fast and quiet... We are very pleased so far. I have always liked the Hewlett-Packard products. I have a deskjet 950C which I have been using for many years without a problem."
