"I'm a student who uses a printer for documents mostly, and was sick of paying for expensive inkjet cartridges. I rarely print photos or other color images. "I previously owned an HP1012 which operated far better than the P1006. This model sounds rough when it prints (roller that grabs the paper makes a kind of "popping" sound). The paper tray does not come with a cover which on the previous unit also acted as a ledge or guide for the priority feeing slot.
