"We adopted a 5 month old immunocompromised kitten back in December (now March). As a result of her immunodeficiency she had/has really bad gingivitis and we were told by the vet that she would most likely be facing teeth extractions in her future. Due to her inflamed gums we can't even use a toothbrush with her because it would just be too painful for her. Oh, did I mention that because of her gingivitis he..." Read Full Review

"after diligent daily use on my 65# belgian, I saw cleaner teeth in about three weeks. My dog also developed stomach irritation, vomiting and loose stools. Discontinued use, and the dog's back to normal...." Read Full Review

"I ordered this for my 15 year old Aussie after reading the great reviews.
Gracie has been on raw food for years and used to love the raw marrow/dry roasted bones but cannot enjoy them anymore. Previously while on the raw food and bones she never had to have her teeth cleaned. Just recently the plaque has started. Gracie is on 3 heart meds- Vetmedin, Lasix and Benezapril 2x per day, which may or may not make a difference in the effectiveness of this product.
SO..with our Vet's approval we gave this a go-go, unfortunately no difference.
ONPS customer service is always the best and they recommended trying Petzlife.
I would still recommend this to someone to try."

Cons:
"Ease of administration and small packaging is nice. The product seems to increase blood sugar levels in my elderly, diabetic dog. I test her sugar twice daily and have to increase her insulin while using this product. Diabetics have horrible oral conditions and I have not seen an improvement with this product-I had not planned on this product but the one I wanted seemed to be perpetually on back-order! Once this product is consumed completely, I will try the other product from Only Natural that I had initially intended to purchase."

Oh, did I mention that because of her gingivitis her breath STINKS? I mean...when our other cat came to us, her breath was bad too but it was NOTHING compared to this cat. Even with her mouth closed, the fur around her face reeked. It was so bad that no one wanted to be around her because all she had to do was be in arms length of your face and you could smell it (mouth closed). Plus, she's a nuzzler.
Well, I saw this and liked the idea of something I could put in her food. It's very easy to use, it comes with a tiny scoop and for cats you only need to give 1 scoop a day. I usually do a heaping scoop. The product itself smells like seaweed and she won't eat it without food mixed in so for a picky cat (she is NOT a picky eater, thank goodness) you might want to pick a really yummy food to mix it in with. I've mixed it with her regular canned food, tuna, chicken broth + shredded chicken, etc.
For our other cat we used another product bought from only natural pet store, this one was added to the water. We noticed improvement for our other cat within days so of course I ordered another bottle for our new cat. Well, it did NOT work for her. That's when I turned to this product. I have to admit, after a few weeks of using this and not noticing ANY improvement, I was chalking it up as a failure and prepared to order another product after I finished this one. Then one day (I didn't keep track of the exact time but I'd say about 6 weeks in) I noticed that her breath didn't smell AS bad. I mean, when she opened her mouth it still smelled but the fur around her face didn't smell anymore. Another few days and her breath didn't smell at all anymore. Amazing.
So keep at it! This bottle says it may take up to 8 weeks to see improvement because this works systemically. So while this isn't instant like our other product, this works. Seriously, if it can work for my cat, I can't imagine this not working for any other cat.
Still need another vet visit before I can comment on its effect on her gingivitis but I'm hopeful considering what it did for her breath.
Oh, and this powder will last awhile, it's the tiniest scoop per dose, I've been using it for a couple months now and I still have well over half left. Of course, if you're using this for a dog or multiple animals, it won't last as long."
Pros:
"I have three cats, one male & two females. My male has gone through the wringer. Lost an eye to an ulcer caused from an upper respiratory infection, lost his teeth to a bad gum disease, and was already 'challenged' as he has those special six claws on each front paw! I had lost a female cat to that gum infection before I changed the diet to Wellness. In order to not watch that repeat itself, I also purchased the ProDen PlaqueOff, which I put in my female's food. For the male I use the Only Natural Pet Immune Strengthener. I watched him go through the tooth/gum issue to a point where he drooled 24/7, his tongue hanging out & dry, and his weight at an all-time low (the vets telling me he was dying of kidney disease soon), to him being a 9lb boy who no longer drools, plays again, gives kisses and hugs again, and looks better than ever! I thank Only Natural Pet Store as well as all the other products they offer & I order, one more being Wellness Cat Chicken canned food. I attribute all of these products to the wellness & health of my cats. God Bless You All!"
Pros:
"I never write reviews, but this product is effective, so I thought I'd share our experience. Our dogs (90 lbs. each) have never had their teeth brushed (I've known we should but it just doesn't happen) and on our last vet appt. the vet told us we'd need to do the dental cleaning for 1 of our dogs (quoted $400-700 depending on severity) because he had stage 4 periodontal disease and the other dog had stage 2.So, I thought maybe I'd try this first (per an online article about canine dental care): sure enough, we've been using this for 3 weeks and there is NO plaque on either of our dogs. We've not used a brush at all.It is very easy to use: we put 3 scoops (per weight based instructions, the scoop is very tiny by the way so this sounds worse than it actually is) on each bowl of food in the morning (after we poured the food in, otherwise the granules just stay on the bottom). I was surprised when the product first came because the bottle is so small (the 60gram one) but it has lasted (we have used half in 3weeks on our big dogs) and well worth the cost (compared to the dental cleaning at the vets)."
Pros:
"I have a 19 year old Persian cat. I found this to be more effective and easier to administer than Leba III. Because it is once a day instead of twice and you don't have to wait 1/2 an hour before and after food/drink to administer. She had some calcus on several of her teeth that I found after several months of use I was able to somewhat easily scrap this off with an at home tooth scaler. The less effected teeth improved much more rapidly. I also continued to brush her teeth daily with c.e.t. toothpaste. The only drawback I found she was quick picky about eating it, so I tried scooping it directly into her mouth which worked. Still has all her teeth and they look like they're in good shape. She's in excellent health but I'm curious what the vet will say about her teeth at her yearly check-up."
Pros:
"Our eleven-year-old Sheltie seems to be doing much better in the dental department now that we have had her on this product. After her scaling/teeth extraction experience five months ago, we decided that we did not want to have to put her through that again, so we looked immediately for a product to help ensure this. We believe we have found it here. While there is a hint of discoloration from plaque after all these months, it is nothing like occurred before. We are hoping this is a good sign and have just ordered our second bottle so we don't run out. While on vacation last week, we recommended it to our friend who is also a dog-lover."
Pros:
"I noticed dark plaque on the back teeth of my 4-year old Newfoundland, Goliath. I was certainly surprised since his other teeth looked great. I inquired about various treatments to get the plaque off and then started doing some research. I found PlaqueOff online but was a bit skeptical. A few days later I visited my favorite pet store and noticed it on the counter. I inquired about it and the owner said clients were raving about it. I purchased and tried it. After 2 months of usage, Goliath's back teeth look much better and when I took him to the vet, they were surprised to see so much plaque had dissolved. Thanks PlaqueOff! NOTE: This product is not for dogs undergoing treatment for Hyperthyroidism (and states so on the bottle)."
Pros:
"This stuff really does work systemically. This means that one or more of the substances in the seaweed is secreted in the saliva and is antibacterial. What I want to know is whether or not the iodine content is high enough to cause this effect (iodine is antimicrobial) or, worst case scenario, is it the arsenic content? Arsenic is highly antimicrobial. Proden has probably done saliva analysis to measure what compound or atom is increased in concentration in the saliva in the dogs fed this stuff as compared to the dogs not fed it (the control group). This is straightforward science and I think I need this info before feeding it to my pooch for years. Just because it is natural, and just because it works, does not mean we should give it to our dogs without this basic information. 7 ug per scoop of organic arsenic is actually not such a low concentration. Yes, inorganic arsenic is more potent but that fact is not the issue, the issue is whether or not the concentration of the arsenic in this product is safe for daily use."
