"For home use, our Mazzer has been incredible. But when we started full timing on our RV we wanted something smaller and much lighter weight. Plus we have had to accept that if we want an espresso we'll have to either use our little mocha pot (which doesn't require a fine, packable grind) or buy it... we have no room for an espresso machine. There are several products that are similar to the B&D burr grinder and..." Read Full Review »

"I drink quite a bit of coffee and wanted the taste of freshly ground coffee. I purchased this product and it worked great for about 2-3 months. Then it "died" and I had to return it. It was on warranty so I'm on my second (same) product and have had it about three weeks. The biggest problem is that it is very difficult to clean and takes time regularly to clean it out, and it makes a big mess. I am now res..." Read Full Review »

There are several products that are similar to the B&D burr grinder and by all accounts they suffer from the same design fault: when you dump the coffee, the grind explodes in all directions leaving some in the brew basket, but the rest has to be wiped off counters, hands and all the secret hiding places for ground coffee. Equally frustrating, the burr design is lacking and the grind size is very inconsistent. We might as well use a cheapo chopper design.
The Jura-Capresso Infinity resolves the issues we had. Low speed grinding seems to virtually eliminate the static charge which otherwise blasts coffee out of the catch bin. And the control of grind size and its consistency rivals that of our Mazzer Mini. In fact, thanks to the excellent control of the grind we were able reduce the amount of beans by about 15% to get the same strength drink.
We haven't tried it for espresso, so I can't comment about that. But I plan to pull a few shots the first chance I get. I believe this grinder just might do it all!
My only gripe is the timer. I find a timer for controlling the motor more of a nuisance than a help, but others may see it differently. However, I found if I rotate the timer half an increment I can control the motor directly without engaging the timer mechanism, so I have a way around it.
The Capresso Infinity is an amazing product. If you're looking for a small and light weight burr grinder that pretty much does it all, don't waste your $$$ on the wannabes that weigh more and don't work as well."

"Easy to clean. Just take parts out (easy) & dump them upside down. About as loud as a mixer. Multiple grind settings."

"I'm not sure I'm a coffee "aficionado" but I AM very picky about my coffee. I've only had this unit a couple of weeks.
I recently moved and have not found the Capresso burr grinder that I've had for more than 5 years. I finally decided I had to buy another grinder...pre-ground coffee just doesn't cut it, especially with a french coffee press.
This unit is much more quiet than my previous burr grinder; holds more beans than I need to grind at any one time. Cleaner than my older one too.
The bean hopper feeds better than my old one. With my old one, I had to shake the unit to get the last tablespoon of beans ground. This unit feeds wonderfully down through the last bean with no shaking (or other help).
Most of the time I only use it on weekends and days off, when I'm using my French Press to make coffee.
I've not tried to grind any very oily beans, yet. But most of the beans I use are dark roast with a few medium dark roasts.
I like that there are 4 marks for each grind setting option (coarse through extra fine). So far I've not found anything that I didn't like or weren't "so great."
I'm the only one who uses the grinder, so this will not be an issue for me: I was going to double-check the grind setting today and couldn't remember where the grind indicator was and could not readily see which grind was selected.
I'll have to re-read the manual to figure this out. Missing/not seeing the indicator could just be "operator error." If not, this could be an issue for a household with different people using different grinds.
I have not had it long enough to discuss reliability. I did follow the instructions for getting started and had no problems there. Used it as soon as I received it and could get it setup. It worked well and quietly from the start."

"I use the grinder every day. It has lived up to the good comments I found on the web. I did a LOT of research on grinders before buying. This is a very good value for the money. I didn't have any problems with static electricity and grounds flying all over the place. There is almost always some grounds that are tough to get out of the collecting bin but a tap or two and they come out. I follow the recommendations of others, after the grind I tap the unit a couple of times and I don't have any problems with stray grounds. The other issue I found as a con is that the little rubber feet are not even and it wobbles a tiny bit when I move it, but that is a minor inconvenience. You would be hard pressed to get more value for your money. That said, I've had it for about 3 weeks and I'll report back in 3 months and let you know more then. By the way, I got the brushed stainless steel finish as I heard about the issue with Static electricity on the plastic models and I didn't want to be forever cleaning up the polished chrome. Oh, the issue with the bin being hard to get out, well, it fits pretty tight and for styling reasons they didn't put a big lip on the plastic bin and my large fingers sometimes fumble getting a good grip on the bin to get it out.[...]"

"This is my first purchase of a conical burr grinder. I did much on-line research, this one seemed to be one of the best for the money (the price I got from Abt made it even sweeter). I can't say how it compares to others, but I can tell you it does make a positive difference in the way my coffee tastes (compared to a blade grinder).
Some reviewers mentioned the noise level of the grinder, I don't consider the noise level an issue. Its less noisy that the Krups I was using, actually the sound is more pleasant.
Cleaning the machine is a breeze. It quickly disassembles and reassembles. The hopper has to be empty when you clean but that's no problem as I only fill the hopper with what I need to make coffee at that moment. It's kind of a pain but that's the price you pay for a better cup of coffee.
The only time I've run into a static-electricity problem is when I grind beans that are extremely oily. I only use a courser grind for my Thechnivorm or Bodium, I don't know if there would be an issue when using it for the finer grinds. After grinding let the grounds set a little bit, tap the container, it won't eliminate the static but it helps.
In my opinion the only downfall with this machine is the timer dial to grind your beans, it really doesn't correlate to anything. As soon as you turn the dial, the grinder starts. So if you turn the dial slowly as opposed to quickly to number 5 for instance, the machine will grind more beans (that is if you use the hopper to store your beans). Probably doesn't make that much of a difference in the taste of the coffee anyway. Although, well, I'll leave that to your taste buds.
Overall, if there is a better grinder out there for the price you'll have to give it to me to try. I am very happy with my purchase."
