Best Uses
"Workout daily for 1 hr on an elliptical. Wore out my previous Taiwanese-made product and bought the Mondeo because of its so-called "German Engineering," which was so highly touted. Except for the bearing construction, the quality of the Mondeo is no better than my previous Taiwanese special. It's not as sturdy as I was led to believe and the hardware is cheap stuff. The stride is short, bouncy, and unnatural. The instruction manual omits a very critical step -- that of inserting a plastic sleeve in the mast frame before inserting the mast. As a result of this omission, the threads on the bolts holding the mast were stripped and the mast cracked. I later read that this has been a long-term issue with previous Kettler ellipticals. Kettler also omits any kind of written warranty when the product is shipped, so be careful with this company. Lifecore and Multisports are much better products in this price range."

"General comments: I am only 5'8" and am very uncomfortable on this machine with its short 16-inch stride. The flywheel has a very large diameter, which causes the skis to slant down at a very steep angle, putting pressure on the lower back, knees, and hips. There is tremendous vertical motion in the elliptical cycle, providing for a very bouncy and unnatural stride. The LCD display is difficult to read in ambient light because there is no backlighting. The computer console is also very unintuitive to operate. If you are over 5'3" and want to avoid hip, lower-back, and knee problems, I would not recommend this machine."

"I had ordered an elliptical from another store and had to take it back as it pitched my weight forward and stressed my knees. A friend of mine had the older version of my elliptical so I tried his and found it to be ergonomically good. I am very pleased with my machine and as physical therapist assistant I would recommend this machine to anyone."
