"I was looking for something to keep my little guy out of our entertainment center. This works perfectly. I wasn't sure it would work, but I couldn't be happier with it. It looks good and my little guy goes up to it, stands up, and watches TV...." Read Full Review »

"Gate arrived with a bag of hardware and no instructions. One Step Ahead sent instructions quickly, but once I received the instructions I realized that hardware did not match the list of parts in instructions. Called and requested correct hardware, was sent some additional hardware but still not all the hardware needed to assemble this gate. Very disappointed that we cannot secure the gate because missing parts...." Read Full Review »

"I purchased this product to use around my woodstove to protect the children in my family daycare. It is a great product! Very sturdy and I am pleased that I will not have to worry about the little ones getting too close to the stove (and the bricks around the stove). The gate opens and closes easily, but my 5 year old has not even tried to figure out how to open it. A quality product."

"Easy to setup. I am not at all handy and was able to unpack it and anchor one side to the wall and the other to a book case in a few minutes. (I used a drill). Given that its going to be parked in my living room for years, I thought it was worth paying more to get something aesthetically pleasing and it blends well with the TV, stand and components. Keeps baby out (11 months now)"

"We have a free standing wood stove approx. 2 feet away from the wall in the middle of our cabin's huge great room. I was very concerned about our grandchildren "chasing" each other around the furniture and having them forget that the stove was hot. I purchased two "gates" in order to make a fence around stove. Attached the 2 sets together (with no problems) putting both entrance panels in configuration. The actual entry is around 20" in width, a little narrow. I have 2 panels leftover. I could have purchased the 3 -24" sections but didn't know exactly how big I was going. When measuring take in consideration that the attachment to the wall adds approx. 1" to 1½" to each side of fence. Inorder to stay on the tile surround, angled last panel inwards. Wall attachments "swiveled" so it worked. They are 2 1" tubes that slide over last rod of panel, the bottom one can be adjusted up to 6" so could go above a baseboard. Looks great against black stove and brick wall. Now I can be in another room and not worry about the hot stove."

"This is the most wonderful gate. The door is easy to use 1 handed and is so sturdy. Rather than using it around a hearth, we're using it at the top of our stairs (we have an open landing and our railings are thin metal) and the only downside to the gate is that the opening is a bit small and you have to step over the bar under the gate (the opening part) so that's a bit tricky when you are carrying a baby and trying to start down the stairs.
We attached it to the stair rails with velcro (we're renting) and it's holding very steady. You could certainly use a more permanent attachment or even zip ties if you wanted to. Our 4 1/2 year old can't squeeze hard enough to open the gate, so that's a nice safety feature too."
