Nice Stroller but Wrong Model

"I ordered this stroller in March 2010 assuming that I would receive the 2010 model, however, when it arrived, it was the 2009 model. The manufacturer improved upon the 2009 model and there are significant changes to the 2010 model, so I was quite disappointed and returned the stroller to Babies R Us so I could purchase the 2010 model directly from Bumbleride instead. Also, this stroller is quite awkward to f..."  Read Full Review

If a picture is worth a thousand words... How long is this review?

"Ok so I bought this stroller after pretty much looking at every stroller on the market. I have a baby and a special needs 4 year old, and I can't just let my 4 year old walk around so I needed a stroller that was big enough for him without making the stroller impossible to push. My 4 year old is 45 pounds (by the way a Phil and Ted is not a good option if your sons weight is like mine it was impossible to push) However the bumbleride was the best stroller I found and had great reviews. Well as soon as I got it I took it for a test drive, and it was so wonderful I was able to push it with one handed even when both boys were in it. This truly is the best stroller on the market."

"We researched the heck out of every side by side jogger on the market and eventually came to decide that the Bumbleride was by FAR the best. It's a smooth ride, handles like a dream, and fits through even the small front door to our apartment! We've been using it since day one, just needed to add a little extra head support, as my twins were small for the newborn headrests that come with it. I also have an inline stroller and it doesn't even compare. The company gives great customer service as well. When we received the stroller initially, the spokes on the front wheels were bent... they sent us replacements immediately, no questions asked. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this stroller to anyone."

Almost the perfect double stroller!

★★★★☆
4.0

"I shopped and shopped for the perfect all-terrain double stroller, and this is the closest thing I found. It has the most complete combination of ease of use, stylish looks, and durable performance. I use the stroller at the mall, walking to the park, at the zoo, at sporting events, in the airport, and I have yet to find a situation or terrain that it can't handle. I even occasionally use it when I go running and have been very pleased with its performance. It is bulky and heavy, but show me a high performance double stroller that isn't! The fold, once you get it down, is quick and easy, and it fits in my Honda Odyssey with room left over for groceries.

When I purchased the stroller, I had a 2 year old daughter and a 6 month old son, and the design of the seats is versatile enough to accommodate both of their needs. 6 months later, it is still perfect for each of them (although by next year I'm sure my daughter will be too tall for it). The seats recline, allowing each of them to nap if they need to. The basket is very large, and can easily hold a diaper bag, shopping bags and even a purse. The footrests also adjust, offering versatility to the babies' positions. The sunshades are huge, and can be positioned to block the sun from nearly every angle. Ease of steering is comparable to other jogging strollers, even with both of my kids riding. The look of the stroller is so great - it always turns heads when I am out and about, and people invariably stop me to ask about it.

The things I haven't been totally happy with are:

1. The cupholder. It is one of the main features of the stroller, but it attaches to the side in such a way that the load becomes too wide to fit through doorways. It is designed very poorly, and I plan to get a generic cupholder that will attach to the steering bar. Maybe this will be resolved on later models.

2. The fabric. Yes, overall the fabric is cute, the colors and very now, but the construction doesn't scream quality and durability. There are a few places where the wear and tear of use is starting to fray some of the trim, which I realize is to be expected, but let's be honest - when you pay this kind of money for something you want to believe it will last forever!

3. The basket. Though the basket itself is very large and easily accessible, the fabric that attaches it to the stroller is flimsy and is already unraveling. Again, this is just poor design, since the fabric is not durable enough to handle the weight of a full basket.

Aside from these three issues, I am in love with this stroller - it is our home away from home, and it has literally changed my life. For active moms who enjoy being on the go, this is an absolute essential."

    Pros:

  • Comfortable,
  • Durable,
  • Easily stowed,
  • Easy to maneuver,
  • Easy to set up,
  • Super-cute

"Everyone needs to know this before purchasing- Well, several months later, I still love this stroller BUT a couple months in I found that the foam padding on the right half of the handlebar was beginning to crack. It was clearly a defective piece, as the left side was still pristine and perfect. The foam has cracked and split severely, and after extensive communication with Bumbleride, I now find out that they won't provide ANY warranty coverage unless you buy their product from an "authorized retailer." Otherwise you are out of luck. It's a real shame to spend THIS MUCH money on a stroller and then not be able to fix a clearly defective part under a warranty claim. I have to spend MORE MONEY to get a new handlebar replacement, as well as pay shipping on it. It's quite sad to me that a company would produce a product and not stand behind it regardless of who sold it- the stroller I received had obviously not been tampered with and was brand new and unopened when I got it. Makes me wonder what they do with products that are sub-standard coming off the assembly line, where do they go? To "non-authorized retailers?" So they don't have to deal with the warranty claims??? Very disappointing. Just wanted other parents out there to know about this little fact before purchasing- if you want the security of knowing the product will be backed by the company for a year like it should, then make sure you only buy from who they list as approved- otherwise you're screwed when you end up with defects in manufacturing like me. I do still adore this stroller but I'm totally bummed and disappointed that the company doesn't stand behind it."

in love with this stroller

"I researched strollers for twins to no end, this was by far the best choice. It is easy to unfold but, has a couple steps to fold up. I drive a explorer and it fits with room to spare (it shares travel space with 2 pack-n-plays and a 100lb dog). The fabrics are beautiful and easy to remove and clean. I have yet to meet a door I didn't fit through and the brake on the back is great. [...] My only complaint is that it doesn't accept 2 infant seats. As far as the weight of the stroller, it's a double you kind of have to expect the weight."

Awesome Double!

★★★★☆
4.0

"I took months to research the PERFECT double stroller since I had a 2 year old and a baby on the way. My requirements were that it would have large tires, was side-by-side and that it accomodated my Peg infant seat. Well, as it turned out, it actually does NOT accomodate a Peg car seat even though Bumbleride claims it does. Peg carseats are wonderul in that they ARE bigger/wider making them safer for your infant, however, it's too wide for the Bumble double stroller and takes up the elbow space that your toddler would need. Additionally, the strap that comes with the stroller that is used to clip over the carseat to keep in place, is not long enough to fasten into itself! I contacted Bumbleride and told them they are falsely promoting that it fits Peg carseats and explained the strap situation. They did in fact tell me I was right and can send you a longer strap that would fit over the Peg carseats. However, it doesn't take care of the problem with the seat taking up too much space and spilling over into the other seat. But luckily, I came up with my own solution and emailed my local Moms Group and asked if anyone had a Graco (b/c their infant seats are smaller) carseat to sell...and that is what I use solely for the bumble double stroller. I purchased a carseat cover so that the carseat matches the stroller. And I still use the Peg carseat in my car. [...]On to the other stuff, I've have the double stroller for a month and a half now and use it about 5 times per week. It ROCKS! My main concern was it having big tires b/c I HATE getting stuck in the grass, etc. And it rides right over dirt, grass, mulch and bumpy asphalt. I'm using the stroller mainly to go out for long strolls to work off baby weight and I bought the snak pack bar for the toddler side since we're out for hour-long trips and that works out really well b/c my daughter can have snaks, a drink and toys.Other things I love are the windows in the canopy so you can see your little ones. Also, if you use an iPod, you can slide the iPod in the strap that holds the little window when it's rolled up. I love that b/c I hate wearing my iPod on my arm since I can't see what songs are playing, and when it's strapped to the canopy, I can advance to the song I want easily. Also love that there are 4 pockets behind the seats to hold stuff and a large, structured basket underneath. Also love that the canopies unzip, so can alter for sunshine purposes or if want to get more airflow. One small complaint is the bar in front of child (or snack pack bar in our case) is pretty close to the child. For their 2009 models, they should make the bar longer so it sticks out further. But I love the stroller and nothing came close to the Bumbleride...and seriously, I did soooo much research! Feel free to email me with questions!"

So far...So Great!

"We've had the stroller for two weeks now and have used it nearly every other day - and that's a lot with a newborn. Our two year old loves her side and loves the fact that she can see her baby sister while we stroll (while she is in her car seat and facing the other way). The ride is very smooth for my girls, and having the ability to use it with the infant car seat is wonderful. The price compared to what else is out there is very reasonable. While on walks we constantly get questions on where we got it - it's nice looking, works great and most importantly the girls really enjoy their walks. I would recommend this stroller to anyone."

Great stroller

★★★★★
5.0

"I had back to back pregnancies and needed a stroller which could accomodate an 18 month up and a newborn. Didn't get much good reviews about back to back strollers and friends who have them complain about their strollers a lot. So, we started looking for a side by side. I read a lot of good reviews about Indie Twin and decided to purchase it. The idea of it being able to fit my Chicco key fit car seat was also very pleasing (but I should admit that we haven't used our car seat with indie so far. Our newborn loves to ride in indie without the car seat.)[...].So far we have been able to get in every door on our way. Took it to the mall couple of times and seems like isles are wide enough for our stroller. My children are very comfortable in it. By now 19 months old who hated riding in strollers now demands to ride in Indie. It comes with foot covers and should be good for winter(That we have yet to try). We purchased Indie twin couple of months ago and took it with us for a lot of hiking. Very durable I would say.We love the individual canopies but I wish that they came all the way down like [...] strollers. Winds get pretty nasty and kids have a very unppleasant ride without canopy down. Some might say that we can purchase extra accessories like rain cover, etc. But this stroller is expensive enough and should have basic functions like letting the canopy come ALL the way down not half way.We purchased the rain cover but my older kid hates to be covered under it. So, we end up folding it over to his younger brother's side, which looks very akward and wrong. I wish that the rain cover was individual, too. Haven't used the pump yet but I hope it will not be hard to use (As I read in one of the reviews).Other than cons listed above I give this stroller 5 stars!!! I would say that it is a dream stroller."

Almost Perfect!

★★★★☆
4.0

"I would actually give this stroller 4.5 stars, it is almost perfect- only a few minor gripes.

I am so thrilled I finally found a double stroller that works for our family. We have a tall 3 year old daughter (38 inches) and a 3 month old. Originally I purchased a Maclaren Twin Triumph. That stroller is light and a good mall stroller, but terrible for long walks around the neighborhood and running errands on foot. I searched for a double stroller that would work for us. The bumbleride steers very easily, and the rubber tires make going over bumpy side walks no problem. The car seat attaches very easily, the underseat basket is enormous, and the adjustable handle is a great feature. My older daughter fits in with plenty of room to spare- even with the sunshade attached (which was a problem in other double joggers- her head hit the sunshade in almost every one!). That is another great feature- the sunshades are huge and come down very far.

My few minor gripes are that the tire pump is very difficult to use- I actually use the one from our single stroller as it works much better. The other complaint I have is that when the cupholder is attached, it cannot fit through a doorway. However, the cupholder detaches very easily, so if you are taking it in and out of doors, just take it off for a while. Without the cupholder, I have not met a doorway it does not fit through.

Overall, I LOVE this stroller! I am so happy

I got it and it is perfect for our needs."

    Pros:

  • Easy to set up

  • Cumbersome

Great all-terrain double, fits in trunk

★★★★☆
4.0

"I have had this stroller for about nine months now and would like to help clarify some issues.

I chose this double stroller because I wanted my two-year-old and newborn to ride side by side in an all-terrain stroller and I really liked that this one accomodated our infant car seat as well. This feature has proven to be well worth it alone since I could only go for a decent walk in the first months if my newborn could see me. We have a Graco SafeSeat1 and the fit is great, plus you can adjust the footrest up to give you added protection. My two-year-old also loved that she could see the baby better as well.

The independently adjustable seats, footrests, and sunshades are the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. My children constantly need &/or prefer different settings and this has prevented many squabbles.

I love the double front swivel wheels which I feel are more stable than a single swivel wheel for a double stroller. The storage basket is huge and easily accomodates our large double diaper bag as well as other shopping bags, etc. The bumper bar is nice for attaching infant toys once the car seat is no longer needed and my older child loves putting her small toys down into the optional snack tray.

I also chose this stroller specifically because the folded dimensions fit the measurements of my trunk. I have a 2002 Mazda Protege sedan and have taken the stroller in and out numerous times (as a 5'4 average mom). It does take a bit of patience to get the right angle to slide it in under the top lip, but it does fit in a small car's trunk if you need/desire. Once I get it in and slide it as far back as it can go, I can still fit other items (such as quite few grocery bags) around and in front of it.

It is true that it is heavy, but it is comparable to other all-terrain double strollers and is certainly very stable, so I feel it's worth it.

I have used this stroller for walks in our neighborhood, on the local greenway, at outdoor day-long events, and for shopping at the mall and in stores such as bookstores that do not have shopping carts.

I do feel that the folding mechanism could be better designed and wish that the car seat adaptor or bumper bars did not need to be removed to fold it small enough for our trunk, but the other features still make this stroller a great choice for our family."

    Pros:

  • Comfortable,
  • Durable,
  • Easy to maneuver,
  • Smooth ride

    Cons:

  • Heavy / bulky
