"Here is a copy of the email I just sent to Graco: I am seriously SO sad. I just had to return the Graco Nautilus I bought over the weekend to Target today. I spent hours researching the Nautilus and the other one. After comparing the two and seeing the Nautilus Reese in Target, I was convinced it was the perfect seat for my son. After I got it home, I read the manual from cover to cover and began putting the se..." Read Full Review
"While it says for 1yr and up, please remember the AAP advocates rearfacing as long as possible, at least age 2 or when the convertible seat's rearfacing limits are reached.
Now, for children like my daughter, who have already outgrown the rearfacing limits of convertible seats, this is a great seat to harness them till they are truly ready for a booster.
Graco announced at Lifesavers Convention that it has a 6yr lifespan as a harnessed and highback seat, that latch may be used when the seat is a highback booster (including top tether), that cars without latch can use the top tether with the it as a highback booster, and that the seat has a 9yr lifespan as just a backless booster.
So, with my seat having a 11/11/07 date, it can be used until 11/11/13 as a harnessed seat or highback booster, and then until 11/11/16 as a backless booster.
My daughter was almost 4 when I bought this seat (she turned 4 in March), so it will be the last seat she needs. (She'll be almost 10 when she can no longer use it as a highback or harnessed seat, and she'll be almost 13 when she can no longer use it backless... she'll likely not need a seat by then.
Whenever possible, you should install it in the back seat (I noticed another poster said he used it in the front seat... hopefully, it's a truck).
The harness is easy to adjust, the seat is a breeze to install either with latch or the seatbelt, and it goes nice and tall (My daughter has long torso.).
The recline makes it more comfortable for her to ride in case she falls asleep, but still leaves her pretty upright, which is safer for forward facing children.
I tested my 6.5yr old and 8yr old in it and it is a wide and comfortable booster for when my daughter is older.
the only other seat like this is a new one by Britax, called the Frontier, but this one is half the price and, so far, is much easier to use and install.
I would recommend this seat to ANYONE.
The only negative is that, for wide shouldered kids, it may be too narrow as they grow. My kids aren't having that problem, but I know of one mom whose kids do."

"I am an overly car safe mom of 2 boys. I was formerly a car seat installer certified by the state where I live, so I know a lot about carseats and this is an awesome seat. We had previously purchased both the Britax Marathon and the Britax Roundabout for our sons aged 3 and a half and 5 and a half, both averaged sized kids, which we were happy with, but when we purchased a van, those seats just seemed huge in the van, they worked great for the car however and we still use them in the car. When looking for new seats that would fit well in our van I saw this new Graco seat online and was really impressed by the features and ease of use, so we purchased one and then another for both of our boys. We love them, easy to install, my 5 and a half year old fits great in the 5 point harness and will be able to be in that for at least another year as he still is not at the top strap level. He will never get the 65 lb mark, but his height will probably push him to where he needs to use the booster option. I love that the head rests adjust almost infinetly. I also like the cup holders, which the Britax seats did not have. My only complaint is that my younger son's velcro shoes have put small holes in the mesh fabric of the seat when he gets into it. I now make sure the cover that goes over that part is down so his shoe does not rub on the seat. I think that Graco will give Britax a run for their money on this seat! Much better price also! Highly recommended!"

"I purchased this car seat after spending a lot of time comparing prices and reading reviews. I was just in a bad car accident a few days ago and I must say, my son walked away with very minor bruises from the straps. This car seat saved his life. I would highly recommend this seat."

"My son is 2 1/2. We bought this seat in Oct. of 08 just after his first birthday. He absolutely loves his seat, and so do my husband and I. He sits very comfortably and I feel very safe with him being in it. Myself and my son were recently in a very serious car accident, we were rearended at a stop light by a lady doing about 55mph in a large SUV. I was seriously injured because my seat belt failed and came off, but my sone didn't have a scratch on him. He had some bruising on his shoulders where the straps of the carseat sit, but other than that, the seat did a wonderful job of keep my pride and joy safe. When it came timeto buy a new seat after the accident, we bought another Natulis. I wouldn't put him in any other seat. This seat saved my son's life!!"

"This prduct is great. I did alot of research and this is the best seat out there. I have a 3yr old whom is tall for her age and she loves it and has room to grow! Buying another one for my soon to be 2 yr old!
I see alot of comments about infants under one yr being in this seat.....CHILDREN UNDER ONE YR MUST BE REAR FACING..THEIR NECKS CAN BE BROKEN IF YOU HAVE THEM FORWARD FACING AND YOU ARE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. GRACO makes a comfort sport conv seat for infants under one year that IS rear facing. Please do not out a child under one yr in a forward facing position!!!!!"
Pros:
"My husband and son were in a head on colision that completely totaled my husband's F-150. My husband was badly injured and so were the passangers of the other vehicle, but my 1 year old walked away without a problem. (Just a red mark that had an imprint of the straps and buckle holding him in) I bought another one and both of my nephews have one too. My son is now almost 4 (42inches and 44lbs) and still in the 5 point harness. Safety is most the most important thing when purchasing a car seat."

"We bought this exact model (different color) last year for our daughter after our son was born (they are exactly one year apart). I have only had a problem unbuckling the crotch area a couple of times; usually it just needs a press from my thumb to get the straps freed. My daughter loves it; she sleeps easily in it when we are on long car rides. The reclining option is awesome! You can set it up two ways: with the hooks that attach to post-2001 seat clips, or by running a seatbelt through the backside of it. Very easy to remove fabric and clean and replace fabric. A great seat to have for the next ten years of your child's life! Our son will be one next month and we are ordering him the same seat TODAY! I just wish the company offered the same color as the one our daughter has. That is my only suggestion."

Cons:
"I bought this seat for my 21 month old daughter since she was a few inches from outgrowing her Convertible Carseat plus her seat was in my SUV when it was hit. The insurance gave me money to replace the seat. I could purchase another convertible carseat and keep her RF for another 3 months or go ahead and purchase this seat which will be the last one we will hopefully need since its a 3-1 booster seat.
The seat came unassembled but it didn't take me long to figure out how to put it together.
A strap on the seat padding was missing and I was able to contact Graco for a replacement seat pad.
I wish there was upfront harness adjustment instead of taking the seat out to move the harness straps up & down but overall this is seems to be a very good seat.
The headrest can be fully up and it will still fit in the backseat with my suv with room to spare.
I can't recline it in my suv or it won't install properly but my daughter's head doesn't slump too much when she falls asleep.
The seat was easy enough to install in my SUV and then take out.
The color of the seat is girly but yet not too overly girly which I love.
I plan on keeping my daughter harnessed until close to 5-6 yrs old.
This is a great seat for TODDLERS that are outgrowing their convertible's and you want to keep them harnessed longer.
I will be purchasing another one of these seats in the fall for my husband's car to replace her Cosco Scenera. I will purchase a cheaper pattern since it won't be used as much."
Pros:
"After extensive research on what car seat to get my little one, we decided on the Graco Nautilus, every review I and all the rating about this car seat said it was great. I was a little hesitant only because I wanted something that would be really cushioned and comfortable and I have seen some seats that barely have padding. Also I was worried about how far it would recline ( I didn't want her head handing down)I am happy to say that this is a great seat. She got on it 1 wk after her 1st B day, from the minute my Gabriella got on it she loved it. The padding is thick enough that it's comfortable, she fell asleep on it and her head was comfortably resting. Although it doesnt recline as far as other seats do, you have to take into account that a lot of car seats slant a litle, so on my car (dodge, intrepid)it's perfect, overall it's a great product. Easy to intall and put together almost like a 3 step process!!! highly recommend it. P.S she loves the cup holder and the arm rest."
