"I have a love/hate relationship with my twin Maclaren stroller! "I ordered this stroller to potentially use on a trip to Disney. I tried it out in my living room. It was very attractive, handled/pushed easily, and was very comfortable for my 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 year old girls to sit in. However, it was very difficult to open the harness, and I never did get the canopy on, even though I put in a lot of effort. The directions were terrible. This is basically a double umbrell..." "We have a 4 1/2 year old daughter and a 9-month old son. We were not going to bother with a double stroller, since the older one didn't really need one. That all changed when we decided to go to Disney World in May. We started reading reviews for every double stroller out there, and going to stores to test them out. We ended up with this Maclaren and couldn't be happier. Some reviews said that the Maclaren was difficult to fold/unfold. This is true, but only for the first few times you use it. It quickly "loosens up" and is very easy to use. I am a petite, 110 pound mommy, and I have no problems with this stroller. It is relatively light weight, easy to use, and fits through everything. Another reason we were hesitant to get a double stroller was that we thought it would be difficult to maneuver, but a wagon was not a good option for Disney - especially for accessing their transportation. This stroller was great. We were able to quickly fold it up as we boarded the ferry boats, and it was relatively easy to manage. Our 4 1/2 year old thinks it's great and says that it is comfy. The baby slept like a champ in it when it was time to nap. It's true that it doesn't recline all that far, but it reclines more than enough for a little one to snooze comfortably. The shade is bigger than most (on other umbrella strollers) and was sufficient to shield them both from the Florida sun. The under stroller storage is not huge, but it is pretty darn good considering this is an umbrella stroller. It folds up incredibly small. While it does not have drink holders, we easily fit more than 5 water bottles in the back pockets as well as sunglasses, maps, etc. My only complaint is that this stroller does not have a little baby tray for little snacks; however, this might have compromised the compact folding. Overall we are very happy with this purchase. Oh yeah - so easy to steer! Even with the uneven distribution (4 1/2 year old and infant)."
Pros:
"After researching just about every double stroller ever made, we settled on this one. Absolutely worth it. When we were looking at all the details of strollers, I was a bit concerned that we would be paying extra just for the Maclaren name, but its really worth the price.
Pros:
* Folded extremely easily. This has a one hand fold where you kick up the center bar and then kick down on a foot peg. Takes 3 seconds and its done. Folded, it is very, very tiny- it even fits in the airport security scanners, which was a HUGE plus for me, as I travel often with my 2 boys. You do need 2 hands to release the stroller, though I've gotten it a few times with just one.
* Rolls like a dream. Fits through regular doorways, in handicapped bathroom stalls, and can squeeze through most mall aisles (though my tandem Sit & Stand can't do some of them either!)
* Ideal for twins or for different aged children. I've had my 36 lb 3 yr old and my 15 lb 7 month old in together, and have also had my baby and a friend's baby and felt no difference between the two.
* The bags on the back of the hoods are handy for keeping a snack cup and a toy within quick reach, a feature that most other side by sides don't have.
* Each side reclines on its own with a buckle. You can drop an infant down quickly by just unclipping the buckle, or gradually recline them by loosening the strap. Very easy to do.
* Stylish fabric that is easily washed. Ours held it's color after washing.
Cons:
* The basket could be better, though it is comparable to other side by sides.
* The canopies are not great- you can buy new ones for about 20 bucks, though I would have like to not be spending the additional 40 dollars after paying this much for a stroller.
Overall, I would absolutely buy this again- totally worth the money."

Cons:
"This was the first double stroller we ordered but we returned it after having a difficult problem opening and closing it. 15 double strollers later from target.com and babiesrus.com, we have come back and reordered this because we've realized
1 - the weight limit CANNOT BE BEAT - 55lbs per seat!!
2 - it is the LIGHTEST double stroller out there
3 - there is no perfect double stroller but this is as close as we could get.
We've tried graco (too bulky and heavy), combi (too flimsy - not like their single strollers at all), kolcraft, baby trend (too long and toddler still likes to take naps) and joovy's (too small and stiff) sit and stand, new BABY PLANET (worthless - too big, weird - read my review on babiesrus.com), and much more.
Like most moms of two kids, I've been putting off buying a double stroller because I was hoping my toddler would outgrow the idea. It wasn't a problem at first because we only had one car (corolla) and when I had to take the kids somewhere, my husband would be home from work. But, we bought a new car and I had to get the kids to the doctors during the day so I eventually was forcing my toddler to walk as I pushed my youngest or pushing 2 separate strollers at once - which was a bit stressful and embarrassing.
I have been researching double strollers for 7 months now and testing those that are available at the stores. We tested most of the double strollers that had one seat in the front and one in the back and my 2.5 year old is just too tall and he cant put his head fully down when he lays down.
We found the side by side was the ideal double stroller because our kids love looking at each other and we found it easier to steer. But, my oldest is about 36.5 lbs and his weight knocks out most of the strollers available. We bought this one because of the review.
My kids: 2.5 year old weighing 39 lbs and 36'' tall and 10 month old weighing 25 lbs.
Pros
- VERY compact and lightweight; it's essentially a double UMBRELLA stroller just a little bit more sturdier frame
- Cool color good for both girls or boys
- Trendy modern look with its clean lines and smooth fabric
- easy to steer
- reversible seat paddings so each kid could have different colors or matching also makes washing easy; just take off and throw into machine
- The foot rest is a thick durable rubber; better than standard umbrella stroller but not the best
- weight limit is 55 - wonderful!!!!
Cons
- bottom basket is light mesh so can't hold more than 4 lbs
- no parent tray
- how the canopy hooks onto stroller frame could be better; if you take it on and off alot, it will soon break (it's like bending plastic back and forth too much will break it)
- seat is a little short for my tall toddlre; top hits half way on his head so we will probably bring a small pillow if he wants to lay down
- BIGGEST PROBLEM: takes literally 15 minutes to fold it down. It's not a problem when the hood is not attached but when it is, the hood gets caught so i had to open and close it lots of time until the hood is just right and the side can snap close - Maybe it just needs to be broken into.
I hope this helps. It really does depend on what your main concerns lie when you get a double stroller. It's not like a single stroller where you could essentially find the PERFECT one. If you have twins it might be easier but with 2 kids of different age and weight and height, it's hard! Our main concern was a BIG weight limit, lightweight but not flimsy and good price. This IS the closest we got to perfect and I've tried a lot!
Happy double stroller shopping!"

Cons:
"I have owned 11 different strollers over the years. I have had five twin strollers ranging from, cosco, graco, combe, peg perego, schwinn, and Jeep. This is by far the best twin stroller I have had. I have owned Combe side by side, jeep side by side, Chicco side by side, and this one. Combe is flimsy, Chicco and Jeep are both cumbersome, bulky and hard to push. This one is great...streamlined, strudy, easy to push, folds small, easy to carry on and off of transportation...well worth the money. It does not have alot of frills, which I find to be better. The bells and whistles all end up breaking anyway!"
Pros:
"This a wonderful stroller. I thought a side-by-side stroller would be hard to maneuver, but it rolls like a dream. I will recommend it to all my friends who can't decide between a front-to-back or a side-by-side. My 2 kids are very happy with their new ride! HOWEVER, be warned: The description of this stroller is for the 2008 model. You are buying the 2009 model. The new 2009 DOES NOT come with reversible seat liners! The instructions with the stroller have a picture of the liners, but they are not in the box. After 2 calls to Maclaren customer service in England, I found out that the 2009's do not come with the liners and they are available only to purchase separately. No seat liners would not make me return this item, but it would have been nice to have them. Overall, this is a great durable choice for busy parents of two little ones!"
Pros:
"I researched and researched a twin stroller. After reading reviews upon reviews we went with this one and are not disappointed. I have a 6 wk old and 17 month old and cannot tell the difference in their weights - it makes no difference in maneuvering it. We were prepared to pay any amount for a good stroller that we could use for years to come and this is it! We are very, very happy with our choice. It is such a daunting decision to make a purchase on something that costs a few hundred dollars, so we had decided to go without a twin stroller because we didn't want to make a bad choice.
There are two negatives. One is the straps. I went and bought shoulder pads for both sets of straps as they rubbed against my 17 mo. old's neck and my newborn laid on the buckle. It was an additional twelve dollars. The other is when it is closed the inside of the canopies rest against the wheels and therefore they get dirty. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if I'm supposed to take the canopies off each time (which I'm not going to do because it would be too much hassle).
For everything else, it is an absolute dream stroller and worth the money!"

This is basically a double umbrella stroller. I figured for the price and the hassle, I would be better off buying two umbrella strollers for $15 each and attaching them together...I returned this item and bought a BOB dually instead."

Cons:
"As is anything else I buy from Maclaren, this double stroller, the Twin Triumph, is superb. It is sturdy, stylish, and easy to maneuver. It FITS THROUGH STANDARD DOORS (unlike several other double strollers I own that claimed to). It is compact and lightweight (for a double stroller)and once the user learns how to open/close it, takes only a moment to prepare. The only complaints I've identified are that the handles on this model do not adjust (like some other Maclarens I own), which is such a great feature-- but they are at a comfortable height for me (I'm 5'6"). The new buckle system on the harnesses takes some getting used to, it is a bit more complicated than the ones on my other model, but that it turn, makes it more complicated for my toddlers to free themselves! Overall, this is the best double stroller I've found-- and with a nine year old, 2 1/2 year old and 17 month old, I've been through my fair shair of strollers!"

Cons:
"I did a bunch of research before I bought a replacement for our mammoth, too bulky to fold and monster heavy to push tandem double. We're expecting baby #5 and even without the newborn I have 3 that get tired and complain and want to ride. I purchased the Maclaren Twin Triumph side-by-side. It pushes and steers like a dream! It goes up to 55 lbs. per side and even if only one kid is in it you can still steer it with one hand. My 6-yo fits comfortably. When she and my 3-yo are both in it my 8 yo can push it, it's that easy to steer! It folds up to the size of a regular single stroller and I can lift it without breaking my back, even 8 months pregnant. It fits in the back of our minivan with room enough for groceries. Our tandem filled the whole space, leaving no room for other cargo.
It doesn't have cup holders or fancy stuff like that, but it had everything I was looking for (tall handles, high weight rating, easy to steer, fairly compact). We are very happy with this stroller!"

"I have a love/hate relationship with my twin Maclaren stroller! Let me first start by saying I have 1 year old twin daughters who have been using this stroller since they were about 6 months old - they hated their infant carseats so this stroller allowed them to see everything that was happening!
PROS: Very lightweight, turns on a dime, folds up extremely small (love that!), seats recline very easily, pushes like a dream, can be used for infant and toddlers, seats seem comfortable, fabric is soft and buckle or safety harness is very secure and easy to adjust (it is sometimes hard to buckle/unbuckle however).
CONS: Hard to get things in/out of the storage baskets under the seats, canopies don't keep any sun out of my girls eyes no matter what, no child trays, no cupholders for parents and this isn't a manufacturer issue but it's hard to get through tight areas because it's a side by side stroller (just something to think about).
We are going to purchase another double stroller that is front/back and has more convenience features but I just can't part with this stroller! I think it's absolutely perfect for our nightly walks and trips to the park but it's not so convenient for our longer day outings."
