"There is already a better version of the DSi being released next year with a bigger screen. This should be considered before a purchase for the holidays. The DSi itself isn't enough of an improvement over the DSlite. Plus the loss of the GBA slot you can't play Guitar Hero or help complete the pokedex in diamond, pearl, or platinum by sending pokemon from the GBA games to the new games. Impressed and Not Impressed!

"The Nintendo DSI is a great product. I think that Nintendo Co. really did a great job creating this console. Adding two cameras was a great idea. I mostly use the camera overall everything else. The Nintendo DSI recorder is very fun. Recording your voice and disgusing is one of the best applications on the DSI. I also really like the Nintendo DSI Point System. I think it is a smart idea to be able to trade in your points for a new application. The DSI Store (where you trade in points for new apps) has apps like Mario games, Master of Illusions, Wario SNAPPED, and Pyro. I have downloaded 4 apps. Plus the Internet App is free. You could also use an SD Card to download pictures and songs on your DSI. My cons on the DSI are that on the Instruction Manuel shows example pictures of people, these pictures look high quality and like they were taken with a digital camera. I was pretty excited about this part of the DSI, but once I used the camera, the pictures did not turn out as good as they were on the Instruction Manuel. That really dissapointed me. There is another attraction on the DSI Camera where you could change the color of an object. I took a picture of myself and then wanted to change the color of my shirt, I wanted my shirt to be blue. I tapped on my shirt and then EVERYTHING became blue. On the manuel, it turns out the colors of the objects you want to change have to be TOTALLY diffrent colors. (example-yellow and red) The DSI Recorder only allows you to record ten seconds. That was a huge dissapointment. Apps in the DSI store need to be bought with points (which is understandable) but you need to but those points with a credit or debt card. My touch screen actually stopped working reasontly, I fixed it by callibrating it. It took several tries for the callibrate to become succesful. Also, there is no GBA slot, so you are not able to play Nintendo SP games. The internet is very complicated to use to. I recomend the Nintendo DSI to others, but if you don't want [$] to go down the toliet, then do not buy this product. I find it useful in a way avoiding all of the cons. If you choose to buy this console then good luck with it and have fun! -ToyBuyer"

"If you don't have a DS or if you have the original DS then I would recommend this for you but if you have a DS lite then I wouldn't be so sure. The DSi is the same game system, it just has some updated features. You can connect to the internet and buy online games just for the DSi, but we don't know how good those games are going to be. There are going to be some games released later in the year that are only for the DSi because it has a camera but once again, we don't know how good those are going to be. You lose the GBA game slot at the bottom. You can not play the guitar hero game on this because of that. It has a camera on the outside and one on the inside. The exterior camera only has 3-megapixel's and the interior has an even lower-resolution; I wouldn't buy it just for the cameras. The graphics are the same, no improvement. Over all the graphics for this system and all the other DS systems are poor compared to the PSP.

On the bright side, it has an SD card slot for storing music, images and downloadable content. The DS is a great game system with very fun games. It has some great titles coming out soon. I myself have pre-ordered the DSi because I have the original DS. It has a slightly Larger screen and it is a little slimmer. The SD card slot should be really neat! If you have a DS lite it might not be worth the price unless you are a hardcore gamer... which I am. Do your research before buying."

    Pros:

  • Access the nintendo store,
  • Camera,
  • Easy to learn,
  • Good audio,
  • Kid appropriate,
  • Large clear lcd,
  • Multiplayer,
  • Sd cart slot

    Cons:

  • Lose the gba game slot,
  • Low megapixel camera,
  • Not backwards compatible,
  • Poor graphics,
  • Price

More than perfect!

"Okay, I am going to be honest, I don't own one, but I really want one for Christmas this year. Here is why YOU should want one to:

1: It is Bigger, Lighter (in weight and screen)

2: Even though there are only 2 colors, they are nice colors to have for a Video Game

3: Picto Chat has colors to draw with now

4: You can take Pictures with 2 cameras with over 10 different camera modes, including Graffiti and Morphing. You can also use the DS Download System to send photos to friends!

5: This game device is just so amazing. I can write 1,000,000,000 other reasons why you should buy it, but, that would be boring. So over all,

BUY IT NOW!!!!!!"

    Pros:

  • Easy to set up,
  • Excellent gameplay,
  • Fun for all ages,
  • Great graphics,
  • Lots of game choices,
  • So addictive

    Cons:

The DSi is a leader in gaming systems

★★★★★
5.0

"It's better than the original DS, of course. Just playing with the settings and cameras is an experience. If you are considering buying one, just remember to read what other people think about it.

The DSi seems to be the most advanced gaming system you can buy now and take with you wherever you go. You can connect to the internet on it, of course, play DS games on it, and take pictures and record sound. You can have a wallpaper for the main start menu screen by setting a picture to go there. That feature was a main contributor of me buying. I personally think that what I paid for it was not that extreme. The blue color is amazing, but I wish there were more colors than what were available. Great product. Great buy."

    Pros:

  • Easy to set up,
  • Excellent gameplay,
  • Fun for all ages,
  • Great graphics,
  • Long-lasting

I just have to add... good luck using the free web browser it comes with. I have heard many bad things about it. You can't access a lot of websites because it doesn't have flash. Just say no to that and stick with your computer."

Best portable game console EVER!!!!!!!!!

★★★★★
5.0

"This is just like the Wii only portable!!! If you like the Wii then you are going to love this!!! And if you buy an SD card you can pass the pictures from the DSi to the Wii! It even has internet connection so you can visit any website you wan't except video websites so don't start criticizing it just because it doesn't have flash player it's just a video game console it's not a computer. It also has new features like in Picto Chat you can draw with rainbow colors. The DSi is the perfect game console for people who like video games, cameras, and MP3 players because you can also store music. For Guitar Hero fans,if you're going to buy the DSi, don't get all crazy and buy it, think before you buy the DSi because it doesn't have the GBA slot or you could just keep your old DS. You could also buy DSi games in the DSi shop. You can even get entertained just with the two cameras and recording you're voice because you can mess around with the pictures and with you're voce. I just loved the DSi and all the new features!!!!! Nintendo has done it again!!!!!!!"

    Pros:

  • Easy to set up,
  • Excellent gameplay,
  • Fun for all ages,
  • Great graphics,
  • Lots of game choices

Best handheld game system around!

"The DSi is awesome! The camera is really cool too. The graphics and sound quality is great. Much better than the DS Lite in my opinion. It's a good size, not too heavy or too light. And the color is nice too! So what if it doesn't have a slot for Gameboy games? It has lots more features that compensate for it. I'd buy this DSi again and again. It's perfect. I'd recommend this to gaming lovers of all ages.(:"

Product Details Nintendo pioneered handheld entertainment in the '80s and famously made it fully mobile and accessible to millions around the world with the Game Boy and DS video game systems. Now, Nintendo is taking things to the next level by transforming the way people access, experience, create and share content with the new Nintendo DSi system, the third iteration of the world's best-selling portable video game system. The SystemThe Nintendo DSi is a high-powered handheld video game system in a sleek, folding design-loaded with features designed to create a unique gaming experience. Like the DS and DS Lite before it, the DSi features Nintendo's trademark stylus-driven touchscreen technology, but determined to make portable gaming simultaneously larger and smaller in all the right places, Nintendo has also created the DSi with significantly larger screens and an even slimmer body design than its earlier cousins. Other features include the ability to snap photos with built-in cameras, edit and send them to friends, play back your music with Nintendo DSi Sound, or browse the Internet with the Nintendo DSi Browser. From playing games to just playing around, the Nintendo DSi does it all. Features: The DSi's Two Digital CamerasThe most noticeable feature of the slim Nintendo DSi system are its two cameras - one camera is situated on the external body pointing away from the user, and the second one points at the user when the device is flipped open. As the first truly interactive digital camera in a video game system, the DSi Cameras feature 10 different interactive "lenses" that can manipulate your photos, offering an easy way to take and share your photos with family and friends. The cameras also present people with unprecedented ways to interact with their games, and in the process provide developers with a new tool to devise creative games and experiences. If the touch screen gave Nintendo DS a sense of feel and the microphone allowed it to hear, the two cameras give Nintendo DSi the sense of sight. DSi SoundAnother enhanced feature is the Nintendo DSi Sound application, which serves as both an interactive voice recorder and music player that allows users to play with their music while they listen to it. Users can access different audio filters or control the pitch and speed of recorded voice or music files to alter voices or change the tempo of a song. The mic is located between the two screens when the device is flipped open, and there is also a stereo headphone output that lets users listen to music saved on an SD card, even with the screen shut. The DSiWareIn the world of software, Nintendo DSi will be the platform for the most relevant and fun on-the-go games and applications. The Nintendo DSiWare application will populate Nintendo DSi with software that can be downloaded using Nintendo DSi Points directly to the portable system, just as WiiWare has with Nintendo's Wii console. Developers big and small are invited to create software that makes use of the properties and functions of the hardware. Nintendo DSiWare games and applications will be available at a range of values, starting at 200 points. Games and Backwards CompatibilityIn addition to downloadable games, Nintendo DSi is able to play games made specifically for the system and sold at retail. The system can also play most Nintendo DS games, and will have access to a library of more than 850 titles originally made for that system. As an example of the quality of games that DSi players can expect to see both from both Nintendo and third-party game developers, at the launch of the DSi Nintendo also released Rhythm Heaven. A wildly popular rhythm game in Japan, where it has sold nearly 2 million copies since its release in mid 2008, Rhythm Heaven features catchy tunes, charming characters, and a wide variety of rhythm games as it makes maximum use of the DSi's functionality. FacebookNintendo DSi owners have even more ways to share their experiences with friends and family. Using an Internet-connected Nintendo DSi system and the Nintendo DSi Camera application, Facebook members can take pictures with either of the system's two cameras and upload their photos directly to their Facebook profile. While reviewing pictures they've stored in the Nintendo DSi Camera album, which includes photos taken by users and manipulated using the built-in interactive lenses, users can simply tap the Facebook icon on the system's touch screen to instantly transmit photos to the user's Facebook profile.  The user's system must be configured to a wireless broadband Internet connection for the transmission of photos. What's in the BoxEach DSi comes complete with: one Nintendo DSi System, one Nintendo DSi stylus, one Nintendo DSi AC power adapter, an easy start guide, manuals (basic and controls) and a support booklet. Nintendo DSi CameraTwo cameras. Ten interactive lenses. Endless fun for you and your friends. Nintendo DSi Sound Record your voice. Play with your voice. Play your music. Play with your music.
