Review of the Day on 11/10/2011
The user manual ain't got nothing on this review.
Pros:
"This is definetely a standard for the industry. As an ebook reader, it has all possible qualities, and I will list them in details.
1) Battery Life
The battery, when the wi-fi is powered off, it simply runs for over 10 days (with me, I consider myself a heavy user). I have friends who own the NOOK and the IPAD, and this category Kindle is about 45% to 65% more battery effective when compared to NOOK and about 358% when compared to the IPAD.
2) Usage
As an reader, the Kindle beats all of its competitors because when you want to read a book, Kindle does the job in a superb manner, the reading experience is visually as close as reading a paper book, the battery will last forever, the software never, never locks (and I have used it for over 6 months now, and it has never locked or froze once), it is so light that the "holding experience when reading a book"is actually a lot more comfortable (you won't tire physically) than reading a paper back.
3) Happy Travels
Now, one of the most remarkable things of the Kindle, is the 3G experience, both in the US or abroad, it seemenlessly deliveres your content both in the US or any where on the planet. Now you maybe saying "Oh! but the IPAD and NOOK also have wi-fi" anjd that is a huge mistake, Amazon, differently than Barnes and Noble has an auhtorization that lets its customers buy, and download content anywhere in the Globe. Barnes and Noble and Apple are working on a similar clearance, but do not yet have it. Imagine being in China or Brazil and your favorite books/periodicals can't be bought/downloaded, that also means that your literature on the flight back might be compromised due to content or battery life (mainly in the IPAD case).
3) Enviroment Friendly
I haven't seen any reviews mention this, but thought it would be a good idea to bring this up. Most chargers (and I have tested at least 9 different brands will perfectly work to recharge the Kindle, that means if you lose your Kindle charger, you can use your Motorola, Blackbery, and I found my self in a situation that it did make a difference to me, not to mention that I didn't have to buy another one and consequently deteriorate the enviroment.
4) Overral
An unbelievable product that simply has it all for the reading experience and will (or already is) a standard for e-reading and is years ahead on this category even when compared to the IPAD, as far as reading goes.
5) Price
Have I mentioned price? Kindle is the cheapest."

"I received the Kindle as a Christmas gift. This was after I had asked for the Nook Color, got it, and decided that it just was not for me. At Christmas, most of the Kindle's were sold out, and me being impatient, I decided on the Nook Color. I enjoyed the Nook for a little bit, but I found the screen too difficult for me to read on, which defeated the purpose of what I wanted an e-reader for: To read.
After seeing a Kindle and playing with it's features, I decided to replace my Nook Color with a Kindle instead. I found the device easier to use, comfortable in my hands, and above all, it had readability that the Nook Color did not possess.
Also, Amazon offers this high quality e-reader at a dynamic price of just $149. This is including the 3G. Those not interested in 3G can get the device for only $99.
Right from the get-go, the Kindle provides an easy to follow guide of welcoming the buyer to the Kindle. As all new things, you need to play with it to figure out how to get it's system down, but the buttons and the navigation is not difficult to figure out.
The Kindle store has everything you are looking for. The most helpful tool for me has been the "Recommended for You" section, so I can find similar titles to that which I have been reading. As a side note, I have become addicted to playing the Every Word game on my Kindle, which Amazon offers for free.
The Kindle is travels with you. I would suggest getting a good case before having it go around with you everywhere, but it is light and thin, making it easily stored in backpacks, purses, or suitcases.
The battery lasts so long. I can charge it once and be confident that it's not going to die on me right away. Obviously, your usage depends on how often you have to charge.
The biggest asset that the Kindle holds for me is readability. With the Nook Color, my eyes would become strained and tired, and I would end up with a headache (it reads like a computer screen). The Kindle is easy on the eyes and reads very much like a book; especially out in sunlight.
Overall, the Kindle is travel-easy, has no software mishaps, easy to use, and provides the perfect screen for reading."
