"May cost a little more, but worth it. Toasts quite evenly and consistently...no body likes burnt toast.....just perfect toast! Great with bagels too! Plus we love the sleek look of the stainless steel in our kitchen. Easy to see if it needs cleaning or not!Note: This reviewer may have received a benefit, like a sweepstakes entry or rewards program points, in exchange for writing this review. The benefits wer..." "What a dissapointment. This Kitchenaid toaster won't make toast! A one hundred dollar toaster should not only make great toast it should feed me my breakfast. This thing is worthless. I have to max out the toast time twice to toast bread, forget about a bagel. After 2 weeks the levers stuck in the down position. Help, I need a good toaster!..." Read Full Review
"My wife and I have been looking for a quality toaster for years. Our other toasters were neither consistent nor durable. This toaster is well constructed, provides an even toast each time, and toasts a wide variety of breads, bagels, etc. I highly recommend this toaster!"

"I purchased this toaster a few weeks ago and so far so good. It was a little pricey but "if" it last, it will be worth it! It does toast pretty quickly and browns perfectly. Your toast is not too crunchy yet not too soft either. I do miss the lever to lift the bread/bagel that my old toaster had. I also wish they would of made the slot just a little longer (not wider, just longer). Some breads are longer than others. We typically only use our toaster on the weekends (when we have time to cook breakfast). so perhaps you may want to read on to other experiences. I however do believe in the Kitchenaid brand. Most all my kitchen appliances are already Kitchenaid and those that aren't will be replaced with Kitchenaid products when the time comes. I'm not a sales person for them, however, I've had such bad experiences with Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, Fridgidaire (sp?) but never once from any Kitchenaid appliance, big or small. Good brand, let's just hope they keep it that way."

"I was very surprised by the quality of this toaster. It toasts evenly for single slices and frozen waffles. No annoying beeping when the toast pops up which was a plus in the early morning hours. If you should need to double toast due to choosing a low number for your particular brand of bread, the re-toast is always even and never burned if you half the number you started with. We looked at every toaster imaginable including the $299 brand. You don't need to spend that money for results. Toasting time is also efficient with our average number being a 4 for whole wheat bread. We've come off of the horrible experience of the Breville wideslot toaster and are so pleased to have the KitchenAid. I highly recommend this toaster."
"We previously used a toaster-oven but were continually frustrated at the uneven toasting and also our inability to keep up with our kids' requests for mini-waffles. With this four-slot toaster, the kids can eat a LOT of waffles at the same time, or we can make toast or bagels at the same time for us all. Given this toaster's size and weight, it is a plus that it's pretty to look at while sitting on the counter. Plus, no one is burning themselves on it (which was all too often happening with the pan on the toaster oven sliding out!). All in all, it was a good purchase for an even-toasting, high-volume toaster and wewould recommend it to others too."
"It seems nicely built but the slots are not long enough to accept the bread slices that I routinely bake. It will accept anything the size of square (Wonder bread) sized slices. Additionally short pieces of bread similar to ciabatta can't be raised up enough to be conveniently removed. My former toaster allows you to manually lift the toast above the normal "up" position to assist in removing shorter pieces of toast. If I only baked or purchased small "Wonder Bread" sized bread this toaster would probably be fine. I will exchange it for a toaster that has two longer slots each of which will accommodate two Wonder bread slices side by side."
"This past year my wife and I purchased and returned several expensive, high-end toasters that just didn't work that well. They were nice LOOKING, but everything they toasted was unevenly done, or under-done, or burnt....very frustrating. We finally tried the KitchenAid 4-slice, and it is a great toaster. It toasts evenly, the slots lift up high enough to easily get out even small english muffins by hand without having to go fishing with a fork. Bagels fit in the wide slots and toast evenly. And yes, it makes plain ol' toast well, too. :) We're very happy with this toaster."
"I bought this toaster to replace an old toaster that was taking longer and longer to toast. The price was a little steep, but I figured if I paid more I would get more. Little did I know that my old toaster, that is dying, would be faster then this one. My husband is furious over this purchase because it takes a long time for anything to toast. Even if you start toasting before you start your eggs, the toast may still not be done. If you are very patient and have all day to wait for a muffin or a bagel or even dark toast, then this is the toaster for you."
"We have been going through a lot of toasters in the last 20 years and none have held up or really done a good job. We bought this a year ago and it is a fabulous toaster! We have a Kitchenaid dishwasher and fridge so were attracted to this. It is easy to clean and looks great. I keep waiting to be disappointed in something it does-and it hasn't happened. The dial really does do a variety of toasting levels and the special feature buttons for bagels and warming also work well. A great product!"
