"I bought these with the intention of using themm for my main computer speakers, but will replace them soon. I ended up taking them to work for others to hook up their mp3 or music players. "Pros
I just got these speakers yesterday. I was happy with the performance and evertying about it.. I reviewed everything about this product online and finally bought it, One of the best purchases i have ever made. I can't think of another one better than this. Subwoofer Is loud it shakes everything, and the Volume is Only Halfway. This sound better then some stereous Out There its the truth.. for the Price i paid 130 Dollars, it was worth it, Plus shipping is free. Best 2.1 Computer Speakers around.
Cons
There was none i could find, Just a heavy subwoofer but who wants to buy a cheap, light subwoofer? Definetly not me.
Additional Thoughts
Best speakers.. I can't find any better speakers than these. When you do come to me and well compare it looks like i paid around 250 for these but not even half the price."
"The sound is good but requires a bit of Equalizing (hey, Logitech didn´t know what dusty bedroom you were gonna place them; room resonances and placement have big influence, guys...); and you can control bass heaviness with the provided knob.
If you enjoy quality music, be sure to have a good Sound Card (Creative Audigys are enough) and use the LINE out, never the Earphone jack.
By the way this device is able to show you how bad quality some MP3 and WMA highly compressed files are...and that´s good; don´t blame your Logitechs, blame your music files. Of course you can´t compare it´s sound to a $2000+ good Pro Amp plus Speakers but they are way better than your under $39,95- PMPO-rated current bricks.
But be ashamed Logitech !! Where did you imagine this gizmo was going to be placed ? it lacks a magnetic shield !!
I placed the satellites next to the display and the woofer on a shelf under the table and they caused a huge distortion over the image´s corners and bottom: shadows, moiré, color shift and the like.
To supress this effect I had to move all three speakers about 60 cmts away; even so I had to demagnetize the display TWICE. So if you don´t have enough space to share with them, abstain please...otherwise, enjoy a very good sound."

The user manual ain't got nothing on this review.
"These speakers more than earn their THX certification. From incredibly high highs, to full, undistorted lows that are sure to shake your house; these speakers perform beautifully. The sound quality of these speakers is superb. The RCA audio output converter that it comes with allows you to hook them up to your DVD player, video game console, etc. This is a wonderful bonus because, hook these speakers up to your DVD player and your movies are made THAT much more enjoyable. The speakers flood the room with sound and the 8" subwoofer provides deep, crunching bass for explosions, etc. Your neighbors will really love you for getting these speakers.
All of these pluses aside, there was one problem that I encountered with these speakers almost a year after I got them. The volume knob gave out to where whenever you'd adjust the volume, static would come through the right channel. Not only that, but the right channel would be much weaker than the left at certain volume levels. I'm not sure if this problem exists in all of them or if my set was a special case but, these speakers come with a 2 year warranty and Logitech was wonderful in handling my problem. They actually wound up sending me a brand new set of speakers after I sent them the defective volume knob. So, all in all, don't let my troubles shy you away from purchasing theses speakers because they are the best sound system that I've heard in a long time. I'd even choose these over a vast majority of the surround sound systems that are out there; and that's all thanks to the amazing THX performance."

"Can I describe this sound system in one word? yes.. AWESOME!! When I bought it, i expected it to let me down like every other system I had bought. But, when i plugged this bad boy in, it blew my sock off!! The bass is incredible and the speakers give out crisp, clean sound. I hook this system up to my i-touch and xbox and trust me, it make everything a thousand times better. It definitely has enough power to shake the walls in my dorm room. And If you live in a house you can hear it all throughout the place. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves bass without distortion."
"What can I say that hasn't already been said about the Z2300 set. These speakers really deliver a bang for your buck performance and are worth every penny. If you are an avid gamer or just love crisp clear music with deep bass then you must give these speakers a try.
The sub-woofer puts out great sound and bass and is constructed with excellent quality. The satellite speakers do perform really well even at very loud volumes.
The volume remote is definitely handy especially since the bass control is on the remote which is a super added bonus along with the power button. I have used the headphone jack on the remote and amazingly enough, my headphones actually sounded better than when I plugged them straight into my PC.
Installation is as easy as it could possibly be as my grandmother could set these up in 2 minutes or less. You simply plug in the satellite speakers and remote to the sub-woofer and then connect it to the device (PC, TV, etc).
I could not turn these speakers all the way up because just putting them at about half power is deafening and all my windows and floor was shaking to the powerful bass.
The true power of 200 Watt system.
I give this an A+ without a doubt."
Pros:
"THX certified I'll buy it. I've never looked back.
This system rocks, and I should know. I am a musician and I have an affliction with sound systems. I even have a built in system for my garage.
The reason for wishing that I had control of the treble is because years of playing the drums have made my ears sensitive to certain tones. This system fills any space to its entirety. Movies on my mac are truly impressive with HD video and 2.1 logitech sound.
It's hard to believe, but I have a 7.1 system and a 52" t.v. in the other room and I am just as happy with this system on my mac."

They are really good for the price, but I don't feel they deserve a THX logo. In my opinion, the THX logo is just marketing hype. The music reproduction by the satellites leaves a lot to be desired. The bass is very powerful to the point that it overpowers the mids and highs. Techno and hip-hop sounds very good on them, but when listening to rock, country or other acoustical music, there is a large imbalance of tones where the mids are twangy and the highs are muddled due to the overpowering bass and unrealistic mids. These are definitely not audiophile quality. I ended up replacing the satellites with some JBL bookshelf speakers and they sound a bit better, but still aren't quite right. If the control had a treble adjustment, I'm willing to bet that would make a large difference. Also, be prepared to use a good sound card which has a built-in Equalizer. Mine doesn't and I'm willing to bet that would help correct the tonal imbalances."

Cons:
"I've been through multiple sets of 2.1 speakers as I'm not really a fan of putting a set of speakers behind me in a 5.1 setup.
The Z-2300's are the best bang for the buck you will find in a 2.1 system on the market today. The sub is very large with deep noise-violation inducing bass, and the satellites complement that bass with outstanding mids and highs. I really couldn't be happier with the purchase for the price!"
Pros:
"The Z-2300 Logitech speakers are all that they promise to be and more. The kit comes with two satilite speakers and one massive sub that has a staggering punch, no matter what room it's in. I bought mine and hooked them up in my bed room. At full volume,i have the kitchen on the other side of my two story house shaking haha. Volume: 10 Bass: 10 the Hi frequency is an 8/10, but the comments you read about there being no mid freq. are pretty true. Sometimes all you hear in some songs are the Low and Hi freq. but where is the beef??? but i believe that overall, i couldnt have picked a better pair of speakers that would kick out the punch and the volume i like all at the same time. these should be a 10/10, but because of the mid freq problem, ill have to give them an 8. but you still DONT WANT TO MISS THESE PUPPIES!!!"
