A small piece, but solid as a rock!
"Im a serious amature and take my photography really serious,..I own a tripod and monopod ( both Bogen series ) this are what make a curcial difference in regards to full control of my composition of my images. The Bogen Rapid Plates, though such a small piece but plays a crucial role in the game! Falls apart when repeatedly tightened.
"I attach the plate to a Nikon D200 with Nikkor 18-200mm lens, a common setup. The plate performs as promised when new, but has a fatally flawed design, so it falls apart when attached 4-5 times. I went through two plates with the same result. Its better-designed Giotto counterpart cannot fail this way. The 1/4" tightening bolt goes through a hole, held on one side by a paper-thin washer that a child could bend ..." Read Full Review »

"Works with Bogen (Manfrotto) quick-release system. It does replace the older number as stated (I bought my tripod and head in ~ 1995). Comes with the extra pin as shown: if you don't need the pin, it is easy to remove. "
