"I had a Whirlpool portable for over 20 years and it still worked fine, it was getting ugly and beat up which prompted the purchase of this new Maytag, December 10th, 2008. "We picked up this machine 2/21/08 and ran it while we went out for supper. We assumed it ran fine because by the time we got home it had shut off (3 hours later).
