"Do you demand the best out of a snowboard? If so, I suggest picking up a 2007 Burton Vapor. You can't get a lighter Burton board. It might be a bit costly, but the ride is priceless. With all new Vaporskin and pro tip and tail added to the already lofty list of Burton materials (such as stainless steel edges, Sintered WFO base, Carbon I-beam, Multizone EGD, Pressure Distribution edges, and a negative core profil..." "Ive been riding the 06 Vapor now for around 100 days, admittedly this is the older model, so Burton may have improved it.Negatives:1. Its way too stiff - I think this lessens its maneuverability and stability - especially when ripping through a tight packed tree run.It also makes it completely unsuitable for buttering or any kind of trick that requires flex in the board. It could be me, but I dont find that it po..." "This is an amazing board. Its super light, has great pop off the kickers, and carves better than a fat man on Thanksgiving! Its even great on ice! But, please, please dont ever take it jibbing , you will tear the S**T out of it. Please, take it all over the hills, in pow and around trees."
"I purchased this board last year (on sale, here) to replace a 5 year old Burton Custom. I was quite hesitant about the purchase, given the astronomical list price. Worse, the Burton catalog and website, provided an abundance of vaporous (pun intended) hype, but little useful information for the potential purchaser. I finally made the purchase based on the substantial mid-season price reduction. Having used this board for the equivalent of a full season, I am very happy with the purchase. First, the board is quite light. Largely due to that fact (I assume) it is also very responsive. Doubtless, the technical marvels Burton extols contribute substantially to performance, but I suspect weight is a major factor, as well. Second, the board has worn well: there is hardly any evidence of use, though I almost exclusively freeride with it. Third, construction quality is first rate, at least compared with the older Custom, which began to disintegrate after about 3 seasons use. Forth, it rides well on most conditions, but becomes unstable on icy terrain. Finally, it has a good feel, by which I mean that the terrain can be sensed through the board, allowing appropriate rider adjustments in real time. In summary, this is a nice board, but suffers from very high pricing."
"I tested the 08-09 proto during several days of the 07-08 season out here at Snowbird. No other boards compare! Its incredibly well balanced and the ICS binding setup is money. Its my professional opinion that Burton saved the Vapors absolutely perfect shape for its highest end board. The directional shape floats pow like what? Holds a solid edge traversing, and its centered enough to effortlessly land bakcountry booters switch. Then blast switch pow slashers for the rest of the run. It kills it in the park, and has insane pop. Oh yeah, ZERO swing weight makes you feel like there is nothing on your feet. Fastest, lightest, most versatile board ever made-- period."

It doesnt hold its edge very well - so as soon as youre riding on steep, hard packed snow, youll find that your edges start to slip out - and yes, Ive had it tuned, and it still does the same thing.3. Its flimsy. The topsheet flakes and cracks like its going out of fashion. The die-cut on the bottom is de-laminating as well.4. The price man. The price. What the? Whos stupid enough to pay that much. Oh... me... Positives:Err... its ok in the deep powder.Bottom Line: Ride something else. Your wallet will love you. Your skill level will also love you."

The topsheet is sooo fresh and sleek, but it does get a bit finger printy after a few touches. That's nothing a quick cloth rubdown wont fix. This year they even added a 163W for you lagre footed riders. Now every one can float on air no matter what size foot you have. I look forward to riding this board for years to come. See you out there!!! Burton Vapor Snowboard gear review by CNR913"
"This board is super Tech. Its expensive, but the materials and technology make up for it. This board is so light that on one jump I thought that I was going to land on the moon. It rides so smooth that I felt like I was floating across the snow and moving at lightspeed."

Cons:
"I purchased one of these in a 159cm last year for $500 on sale. The stance is very centered so it doesnt cut through powder as well as the malolo or fish. If you have long legs it shouldnt be an issue. I would like to see more adustment options if you want to move your stance back toward the rear of the board. It is without a doubt the lightest board Ive ever owned. I have a pair of lexa bindings on it. I do like to new binding system but on the longer boards I dont think there is enough adustment for those of us with shorter stances. It carves exceptionally well and has plenty of pop. It is a good all around mountain board but quite expensive. I wouldnt have bought it at full price."
"Where to start...I got the 157cm, the graphics are SICK, I will post some pictures later. The Burton emblem on the base is see through, so you can see the Vaportech Alumafly (aluminum honeycomb) material. The stiffness - true to its reputation, super stiff, no buttering here.Protip does GREAT in powder, I took it out on a day where we got 15 of pow, no sinking at all that day!It holds an edge so well, whether in ice or powder or groomed runs. I was so amazed, there was no chatter whatsoever. If youre an intermediate to advanced rider, give this bad boy a try. Beginners stay away, you will get hurt and say The vapor sucks which is NOT TRUE! The Burton Vapor is AWESOME!!!"
"I demoed this board last year and found it to be totally lifeless. Its good points are that it is light and holds a good edge. But it does not have much pop, is slow edge-2-edge and generally lacks any life. No matter what burton marketing says, wood cores are still far superior to the aluminum cores. If you want a high-end burton all-mountain board then get the custom x. It really is a far superior ride and is a lot cheaper."
