"Probably THE most comfortable shoe that's ever been on my foot. Sizing is dead on. Excellent arch support. May be overkill for light or hot weather hiking, but performs well on snow, mud, and scree. Wears this shoe: hiking..." Read Full Review

"I am a Finish carpenter and I wear them every day so they have to be very well put together. These are already starting to break down so I will have to go buy another pair of work boots very soon and sorry to say I will not be buying anymore of these HI-Tec boots. I have a hard time finding boots in my size because I only wear a size 7 but they have to be a wide and that makes it harder and on top of that i like..." Read Full Review
"I had surgery on my foot, so I needed to find a new pair of boots to fit my foot after the semi botched bunion surgery. I was looking for wide shoes, and this happened to be one of the first that I tried on. It ended up fitting pretty good, so I ordered one from ShoeBuy. I have been wearing it pretty much everyday and it has grown on me. The exterior is tough and waterproof. It hikes well and makes a good everyday shoe too.
Wears this shoe: Everyday"
"I bought these for my husband, who wore out his four-year Hi-tec's due to his daily hikes with our dog. Since he wears a quadruple (D) width, Hi-Tec is one of the very few who carry this size. The cost is minimal compared to the daily grind they endure.

"I had never heard of ShoeBuy, but was introduced to the website on the same day I had purchased these same HiTec boots in A 14 regular (mistakenly informed by the shoe salesman that they didn't come in wide). I thought I was stuck with yet another overly snug, not-quite-right pair of boots, but I took A chance and returned them to the store the next day and ordered the 14Ws from ShoeBuy. I was more than A little concerned, as I had never before ordered shoes online. My worries were overblown - the wide width makes SUCH A difference. With all the snow in Denver this year, these boots have been A lifesaver-slowly breaking them in, but no problems so far. Arrived on time, no hassles. Very happy customer!
Wears this shoe: Daily - casual wear"
"My newest pair of altitude IV boots are the third pair I've owned. They are the only boots that I've ever had that could be worn right out of the box. all day long, without being broken in.As a general contractor, I really abuse footwear. These really hold up for me. My altitude IV's will last up to a year before they need to be laid to rest. Most other boots have only lasted about six months. My last two pairs have retained their waterproofing for about six months, but that's probably my fault. I would recommend these to anyone who relies on good footwear to get them through the day.
Wears this shoe: I wear these boots almost seven days a week"
"I have never own A boot, but knew I would need A pair as I traveled to Izmir, Turkey for 16 days. I searched online and found these to be attractive and with a reasonable price. While in Turkey we did A lot of walking and climbing along very steep and rocky terraine. Every step of the way I was thankful to the Lord for leading me to purchase these boots. I could feel them support my feet and ankle during the entire time. I told my wife on several occasions how thankful I was for purchasing the boots. My feet were never sore, blistered or anything else. I was excited about the purchase of these boots.
Wears this shoe: 1/6 - 1/21"
"This is my first pair of Hi-Tec leather boots . I have taken two long days in the boots . The second day I put on a second pair of socks to try to fill out the boots . The boots are good for hiking in areas of unstable rocks and uneven trails . I hiked up to the Dana Couloir in California two weeks ago . The boots performed really well . There was a lot of boulder hopping and a few small stream crossings .The problem I have is that I think the normal width boots would fit me a lot better than the wide size .
Wears this shoe: Hiking in the Sierra in California August 2008"
"Great boots... ditto to what everyone else says about fit and comfort. I wear these boots five days a week and once I put them on in the morning they don't usually come off until late in the evening. I walk 50% of my day doing a yard service. Lots of wet grass and dirt. My feet stay dry. Have not tested them in puddles much. The only reason I'm buying a new pair after one year is I'm going on a trip and want boots in better looking condition (I never clean the tops only the tread). The new ones will become the daily ones 'someday'.
Wears this shoe: all day 5 days a week"
"This is an excellent hiking and all around boot. Comfortable right out of the box, I bought these in brown, and liked them so much, I bought the black pair. They both look great. The finish is like a brushed leather, but it doesn't really show scuff marks in a bad way. Looks kind of rugged. So far, they remain waterproof ! The fit is excellent and they have good support. They are also pretty light and feel solid without feeling bulky. This is a great boot at a very good price. A definite score.
Wears this shoe: hiking, and in medium snow ( waterproof)."
"These boots were good to go straight out of the box. No break in needed. I was looking for a water resistant hiking boot that could double occasionally as a work boot. This boot is better than boots I have owned that cost more than twice as much. Offers support and performance way above its modest price. The boot is impervious to wet, mud, and abuse. The narrow padded tongue helps make them so very comfortable, but will let a little water in if one steps into a deep puddle or creek.
Wears this shoe: Hiking and as a work boot."
