Run the rough trails without fear of slipping and sliding in the Hardrock Trail Runner from Montrail. As you rush over dirt, sand, and rocks alike, you'll be protected from abrasion by the full-length TerraFlex AR protection plate while the FasTrax carbon rubber outsole provides you with a good grip on the terrain.

  • Soggy, wet feet are the last thing you need on a tough trail - something you never have to worry about with the Hardrock which boasts a tough synthetic leather upper with hydrophobic qualities
  • Go light on weight and high on support with the synthetic upper formed from webbed overlay that wraps over the top of breathable nylon air mesh
  • A full-length TerraFlex AR protection plate ensures torsional rigidity and under-foot armor
  • Get a little extra cush beneath the forefoot with the embedded gel pad
  • Your foot alignment is supported and protected through each complete step by the form of Montrail's IntegraFit last
  • Don't slip and slide at every stop; the FasTrax carbon rubber outsole gets a good grip and lets you stop on a dime
  • Average weight: 1 lb 12 oz
    • Upper: synthetic leather and nylon mesh
      • Midsole: EVA with gel pad
        • Outsole: carbon rubber

Ultra stable, for ultra anything.

"This shoe is already well known and regarded, but at the risk of being redundant, I'll pile on. Other than a Chaco sandal, I think it's the most versatile piece of footwear you're going to find at an outdoor store. Montrail has built an exceptionally stable, smooth and light platform for trail running, ultra running, light backpacking and ultralight extended backpacking, some road running and even supportive w..." comfortable but not hard as a rock

"I am on my third pair of Hardrocks. These are one of the most comfortable trail runner I have used. They fit me well and performs great until the midsole and outsole dies. I have purchased 3 different pairs of these shoes in last three years. Despite their poor durability I bought them for their great comfort and fit. Montrail used a thick single density midsole on these trail runners. While these EVA midsoles..." Read Full Review »

"I used two pairs of Montrail Hard Rocks during my A.T. Thru-Hike in 2007 and was extremely pleased with them. I bought my first pair in Damascus, VA and picked up a second pair in Dalton, MA -- over 1000 miles! The first couple of days in them felt as though my feet were rocking from front to back …"  Read Full Review »
