Bulk up your base and midlayer collection with Patagonia's wicking, breathable fleece R1 Flash Pullover that keeps you warm and perspiration-free with Polartec Power Dry. Sweat won't stick around even during high aerobic activities - the fleece's wicking finish moves moisture away from your skin so that it can quickly evaporate while Capilene 4 stretch panels provide additional ventilation under your arms.

  • Stay warm and cozy in Polartec PowerDry fabric treated with a wicking finish that keeps sweat from accumulating on your skin, so you're never left feeling damp and cold
  • Dry out quickly with a high and low interior grid structure that increases airflow while making this pullover particularly compressible for easy packing in your bookbag or trail pack
  • Slide it on under a jacket - the slim fit combined with a jersey microfiber face makes non-binding layering a breeze
  • Move your arms freely whether climbing, hiking, or skiing with Capilene 4 stretch panels under the arms, and at the cuffs and hems that provide enhanced breathability for a sweat-free day
  • Zip the deep center-front zip up to the top and never worry about scraping your chin on the offset zip that provides next-to-skin comfort
  • Keep keys or a credit card in the mesh-lined chest pocket
  • Wear this one on your next hike, the raglan sleeves are comfortable beneath pack straps while the Capilene 4 cuffs make for little bulk under your gloves
  • Crafted with 60% recycled polyester and recyclable through Patagonia's Common Threads Garment Recycling Program

Ideal midlayer

"Perfect layer over Capeline. Alone or under a shell. In winter or early spring, I was looking for what to put over my Patagonia Capeline and under a shell. Polar Fleece, in all its incarnations and trade names, just doesn't work. It is yesterday's fabric, relegated to leisure wear. The Patagonia R1 fabric is high tech, engineered stuff. It is lighter, warmer, more breathable and faster drying than fleece. The pu..." Read Full Review »

Nice layering peice

"This pullover, combined with a capaline base and burly shell creates an extremely warm, comfortable skiing getup. For winter runs, fall strolls or cold houses, it provides adequate warmth. It also looks really sharp with a button down shirt underneath. My only problems with it are its price and its warmth. I bought mine on sale (for around thirty dollars.) Its a nice piece, but for 115$, you can get a lot more a..." Read Full Review »

"I would recommend everyone has at least one of these great Patagonia pullovers. I have two R1's one I've had for years, the other new so when the old one is dirty I still have one to wear. In the Southeast, I wear it as outerwear most of the time, but when I'm headed to a colder climate it also make …"  Read Full Review »

great piece

"The R1 Flash is probably my most-worn article of clothing. Its great over medium capilene with a shell on top for shredding on the hill, or even by itself for nordic skiing. I also use it over a t-shirt for cooler summer nights and wearing to class, etc. Also great for backpacking because its so rid …"  Read Full Review »

"A great pullover for casual cold-weather attire, or for layering under a shell jacket while snowshoeing - but be careful, because this is hot. Fortunately, the front zip is so deep that cooling down takes only half the time of other pullovers. The "crooked" front zip is strange, and a little weird …"  Read Full Review »
