"Recently updated to Ver. 2010 and use it to plan all of our trips. Frequently use it to find local addresses. This is a quality program and I find it extremely easy to use. Recently used the GPS voice commands from S&T on my laptop to locate my hotel in a congested area and it took me right to the door. Printed maps and directions from S&T are very detailed and helpful for travel to all locations and showing places. I will never be without this program prior to or on a trip.

I would like to be able to receive or download map updates between versions. However, this is the most complete and accurate mapping system I have used."

  • Adaptive and versatile,
  • Best available map system,
  • Easy to navigate,
  • Easy to use,
  • Engaging,
  • Find places easily,

Streets and Trips good but needs help

★★★★☆
4.0

"The new 2010 is better than 2008 but lacks color in the symbols. The right click mouse zoom is great along with the left click move feature. It is very slow to start the program and stops my computer for a least a minute. The copy and paste addresses from an excel spreadsheet into the search space works great. It needs to link with the US postal service to link addresses for updated accuracy. Over all for the cost it does well for all mapping needs as long as the data base being used is updated."

    Pros:

  • Easy to navigate,
  • I like the new right clic,
  • Like the left click drag

    Cons:

  • Symbols lack color,
  • Very slow

Poor GPS voice commands

★★★☆☆
3.0

"I have used S&T for years on my home pc. I upgraded to 2011 to get new maps and hopefully better voice. I find it much better to plan a route using S&T than my GPS because I can easily see the whole route on S&T. I can also easily check distance using various routes. The voice commands on S&T are somewhat unintelligable. The spoken street names are not smooth flowing. When you are at a certain distance to the next turn, S&T will tell you what the next turn is, but as you approach the turn, there is no further guidance. S&T does annouce the exact street address when you approach your final destination.

I would not recommend S&T to be used as a primary GPS. My Navigon GPS is far superior in voice commands, which is what I want while I am driving so as not to be distracted looking at the GPS and running off the road. I would recommend it for trip planning."

    Pros:

  • Easy to navigate,
  • Pushpin tags

    Cons:

  • Poor voice

Like this software

★★★★☆
4.0

"I love this software, even with a GPS. I can plan ahead for hotels and restaurants on trips. The only real drawback is that it is difficult to tell it if you want to go a different way, it gives you what it thinks is the best route. I get around this by adding a stop on the route I want. I also like to print out maps so I can see ahead of time where I am going."

    Pros:

  • Easy to navigate,
  • Engaging,
  • Lots of information

    Cons:

  • Can't set route you want

I would not buy this product again

★☆☆☆☆
1.0

"You can only load it on 2 computers. I have 4 in home & 1 in camper,so I can only load it on 2 of them. Good old Microsoft trying to control their software AGAIN like their operating system. I will have to use my 2006 version where I can load as many as I want. I guess Microsoft doesn't make enough money so they have to limit what we use, just like the goverment control. I will not buy anymore software that has a limit on it. They don't even tell you on the box. You have to load it and then you find out you can only use it 2 times. Bummer"

Microsoft does a Office 2007 to S&T 2010

★☆☆☆☆
1.0

"I work as a field service technician and need a product that can be used to setup my travels to complete my service trips. S&Ts 2006 worked great had all the tools and was simple to use. Just like the total change to Office 2007 Microsoft did it to S&T 2010, it looks different, works different and is harder to use. Why can't they leave a good thing alone and just upgrade the maps, which was by the way what I thought I was getting. If you have never used the product before you might like it, I'm trying to get my money back!!!"

    Cons:

  • Hard to navigate

Not very accurate for some businesses

★☆☆☆☆
1.0

"I use it for planning Vacation stops, Motel locations, things of that nature. I don't want to have to read signs along the way to figure where I'll stay or what places are available to eat. I found location errors in the 2010 Version that were correct in my old 2001 version. Example: the Comfort Suites in Crossville is mis-located by almost 3 miles. Fairfield Glade Resort is shown located 500 feet South of, and 4 miles North of, I-40, the Latter is correct. In the 2001 version, it is located where it located."

    Pros:

  • Easy to navigate

Poor performance of Streets & Trips

★☆☆☆☆
1.0

"Compared to my 2006 version, and it just doesn't compare. Sorry I purchased it. Thought I needed the map updates, but they are poor and in several cases dead wrong. Another incident of Microsoft screwing up a good product. Will continue using my 2006 version and realize I have been taken once again by Microsoft."

    Pros:

  • None

    Cons:

  • Can't find common roads,
  • Hard to navigate,
  • Not much information,
  • Poor compared to 2006 ver,
  • Poor navigation

Not Worth It

★☆☆☆☆
1.0

"A rip-off! There are no changes from the 2009 version. There are highways in my area that were changed over 3 years ago and still have the "old" numbers in this version. Places are still listed that have been out of business for years. This is just a relabeling of prior versions. If I could I would ask for a refund."

    Cons:

  • No changes from last one,
  • Not much information
