Provided by Mountain Gear

A stalwart three season tent from Mountain Hardwear, the Light Wedge 3 is easy to set up, rugged enough for any excursion, and roomy enough to hold on during those days of truly foul weather. A single door, beefy rain fly, and a large vestibule all keep your group happy no matter how long you're stuck in the tent.

  • The large vestibule makes room for gear or a place to cook and deal with wet, muddy equipment
  • Two crossed poles offer excellent freestanding stability, while a shorter arch up front not only increases head room, but adds a significant amount of additional strength
  • A single, full size, mesh D-shaped door allows easy access and provides fantastic ventilation
  • There are 2 mesh ceiling vents and one rear vent to encourage air flow and prevent condensation
  • The stout rain fly has a clear window for weather-watching
  • The Atlas 7001 poles are heat treated for incredible strength and anodized to resist corrosion and denting; completely field serviceable by hand
  • Interior tension shelf

Good tent

"I wanted a tent that was easy to set up, had ample interior peak height, and was easy to get in and out of. This Light Wedge 3 satisfies those needs. I have been using the REI Half Dome, but was feeling cramped. I'm a big guy and want a tent that I can move around in, a tent where I can get in and out of my clothes and my sleeping bag without having to be a contortionist. I reckon you could get 3 people in this..." Read Full Review »

A nice, lightweight tent

"This is a fine tent and you get what you pay for. The fabric is a bit thin and I do not see this as being the most durable tent, but that being said it should serve you well with a good thick ground cloth. It is roomy enough for two but not three people. Due to the mesh walls this is a tent best served for hot summer nights, and if you go without the fly you can see the stars. However, I do have some concerns wi..." Read Full Review »

"I've had the Wedge for about two years and it gets a decent amount of use on multi-day backpacking trips and car camping trips. It's a great tent. Every time I take it out, the people I am camping with comment on how easy it is to set-up. Very fast and simple. It has kept me dry in rainy, windy c …"  Read Full Review »

"I help out with an alpine climbing class in the Seattle area, so I spend quite a number of nights in my tent.

This tent is great for mountaineering, probably a little overkill for a backpacker. On one trip on Mt Baker I had myself and two students in the tent. With three of us snoring away, we …"  Read Full Review »

"I've had this tent for two years. I got it because my daughter (now 5) wanted to come with me on light-duty backpacking so I wanted something bigger and more protective than a minimal backpacking tent but still wanted light and small. It's heavier than a dedicated backpacking tent but still light …"  Read Full Review »

"My finance and I have had this tent for about a year now and absolutely love it. We take it on all of our car camping trips and plan to also take it on a weekend backpacking trip as well.

The two of us plus gear/duffel bags fit comfortably in the tent and we always have plenty of extra room.
