"A lot of engineering thought went into making this tent, especially the setup, the locks and the position of each rod and how stress points are distributed. Yes, a bit expensive for a 3 person tent but at 20% off I couldn't pass up the deal. The rods and aluminum stakes are great...although I wish they could've included more stakes. Setup is a breeze and overall weight is not bad...." Read Full Review

"Ibought this tent based on previous reviews. I am currently on a 4 month cycling trip from Cairo to Capetown, South Africa. We tent camp in bush campsites every night so the tent has been exposed to high desert winds, lots of sand, dirt, dust, etc. I started brushing the dirt/dust/sand away from the zippers after the first week. But after the 2nd week, I noticed that the entrance zippers were not working too wel..." Read Full Review
Pros:
"After backpacking with and living in an old military canvas tent for several years following a band around the country, I've finally grown up and bought a real tent. Long story short, for 3 bones during a sale, this is better than any tent I've ever slept in.
I bought the Nemo Losi 3P to fit three of us as we took a tour of the desert this July. The twins are thin women, 125lbs and 5'5"ish each, and I'm 175lbs, 5'10". They hadn't ever setup a tent before, but they constantly commented how easy and intuitive this one is to setup.
In use, it suffered no condensation by a babbling brook just above cool Crestone, the mesh kept us from roasting in the Canyonlands, kept the bugs out in Mesa Verde, and allowed a perfect view of the stars. With the footprint, it fared well on the sharp rocks in Arches, and the fly withstood driving winds and sand in the Needles. Turns out, the Losi 3P was nigh perfect.
I've since moved to Albuquerque for grad school, and had the opportunity to use this fine piece of craftsmanship in two days of severe thunderstorms at 11,000ft in the Pecos with another friend, and she and I had too much room, though we did stay 100% dry, even though it was very chilly. This tent is very much overkill for two people. There's no doubt that it would, if asked, easily and comfortably house three NFL offensive linemen AND their gear - that's how big it is.
The only thing I didn't like about it was the fly's zipper design. I thought it could have been a little easier to manipulate from inside the tent when staked down.
Bottom line on this tent is it's fantastic for car camping, or even backpacking if you split up the load between three."
Pros:
"This tent performed perfectly in the Norwegian mountains, in cold weather, and in very rainy conditions. Very dry, VERY spacious (easily 3 adults in the tent + room for packs in the vestibules), not too heavy. It's very easy and quick for one person to setup and pack the tent. No problems with condensation.
Regarding a previous comment about the opening in the fly being too narrow: You can simply open the fly at the entrance completely (removing the two stakes at the fron), letting the guy lines hold the tent, and have a great big opening, enjoying the view (see the pic).
My only worry is that the fly doesn't reach down to the ground on the sides. In very windy conditions I fear the tent will be a little cold, simply because the wind will blow right underneath the fly and up through the mesh in the inner-tent (good ventilation, but maybe cold). We haven't experienced very heavy wind in the tent so I don't know if it will be a problem. In moderate wind the tent is very sturdy and not cold.
And, it's just a beautiful tent!"
Pros:
"If you are looking for a true 3-person tent, do not hesitate, do not second guess yourself, buy this tent! I have owned half a dozen tents and slept in a dozen others, and in less than one month of ownership, this tent has surpassed every conceivable test I could throw at it during the Wisconsin spring.
This thing has withstood near freezing temps & sustained 20mph winds with a light rain; I stayed cozy, dry and warm, and the tent stayed locked in place (barely a shudder). And since I am in Wisconsin, the very next week I was able to put this tent out in 80deg weather and had zero condensation problems.
The plusses are so incredibly numerous and stated in every backpacking/outdoor magazine and other reviews that I thought I'd mention the three areas that you should be aware of:
1. Set-up is simple and straight forward; I had it up in less than 6 minutes on my first solo, indoor run and with a friend was able to do setup in less than 3.5 minutes our first night. The only issue during set-up is the double-clips that lock the body & brow poles together; they require a bit of hand strength. I had to force them on the first time, but they never felt susceptible to breaking. The trick is putting the clip closer to the door on first and then snapping the other clip into place.
2. The footprint, purchased separately, was of a seemingly lesser quality than others I have owned and disappointingly so for a tent so well designed. It attaches via split clip that slide onto the body's straps, so I could never get it to feel like it was secure. It packed significantly heavier and larger than I would have expected, also. It is a necessity to have, but I may look at other ground tarp options and hope that NEMO will improve its quality in future productions.
3. This isn't a real problem - it is something that people should be aware of before buying this tent - it may actually be a plus for you (like it was for me). This tent is HUGE! This is not one of those 3-person tents that is more like a 2 person plus half a sleeping bag tents. I bought this tent because I'm a former offensive lineman - 6'5", 44" waist - I wanted huge. You can EASILY fit three guys my size in this tent, plus gear in the giant vestibules. Head room is insane and greatly appreciated, length never an issue, and the doors are easy to get through - a perfect big guy tent. THIS MAY BE TOO MUCH TENT FOR YOU! I'd recommend trying this tent out first; an indoor set-up at REI or at your house will let you know instantly if you should go smaller (my jaw was on the floor the first time I stepped back from the tent; the best word for it is palatial). It still packs up small (not tiny like the 2-person version but smaller than most of my other 3-person tents) and is surprisingly lightweight. Broken up into 2 or 3 packs, it feels like nothing especially considering what you get out of it.
I LOVE this tent. It is going to be my home away from home for 4 straight months in New Zealand/Australia, and I have ZERO reservations about living out of this tent."
Pros:
"After suffering through a wet, cold night in a borrowed tent, my girlfriend gave me an ultimatum - get a new tent or go camping alone. I did a ton of research, looked at tents from pretty much every manufacturer out there and settled on the Losi 3P. All I can say is this tent was worth EVERY PENNY I spent. It sets up extremely quickly, which was helpful on two occasions when I had to get it up before the skies opened up. The gear caddy and pockets are ingeniously designed and the tent packs up to a compact, lightweight size. If you're looking for a generously sized tent for 2 people or a standard 3 person tent, look no further."
Pros:
"I have had the Losi 3p for 3 years now. Have used it in Argentina and Chile as well as all over Australia. Car camping and backpacking. In warm to below freezing temps. Spent well over 40 nights in this tent I and love it. Its light for its size, and that's huge. I'm 6'5(195cm)and I can lay flat and still not squash my feet up against the wall of the tent. We use it for 2 people and there is plenty of room for a queen size self inflatable mattress and our bags of clothes. I have the footprint and the paw print and both work flawlessly. Great storage pockets in the tent that are removable/movable. 2 Huge entry doors are let down by the tiny fly door zips that are a pain to squeeze through( maybe not for a normal size person but I struggle). SO easy to put up and take down, can be done with my wife in 5 min or alone in 7-8 mins. Very cool storage bag too, easy to roll up poles and all. We have had no problem in the rain the tent stayed totally dry in all weather. But... in the wind, that's where it fails a little. The tent can handle strong wind no problem, but when you're camping somewhere dusty or sandy the tent will fill with dust, very annoying even though this has only happened twice to us. just need to watch where you camp. It can get some condensation sometimes but then again so would 99% of other tents as well.
Highly recommend this tent, its strong, well made, great features and design."
Pros:
Cons:
"This tent is amazing... worth the extra cost by far. Ample floorspace, terrific ventilation and airflow (even with the fly on, but both doors open) - and nothing is better than sleeping under the stars and waking up to a front row view of dawn without having to leave your sack!
Excellent design details, and even after clipping in the (extra cost... grrr) footprint/groundcloth and leaving it attached when I roll up the tent, it somehow packs smaller and tighter than when I first opened the package WITHOUT the groundcloth. Tiny!
Would highly recommend."
Pros:
"I searched for a tent to fill many needs, and selected this one. I wanted to use it when my wife and I go car camping, where we use a queen sized air mattress and look for comfort in a tent. I also wanted to use it for 2-person backbacking, so it needed to be light and compact. Finally, I wanted a tent to fit my 6'1" body. Specifically, I wanted plenty of length, height and a large door.
Overall, I love the tent. The first-time setup is a little tricky, but after that my wife and I had this thing up in 10 minutes. The construction seems good. I wish the zipper was a little more heavy duty feeling, but so far no problems there. The size fits me like I thought it would.
I have found three drawbacks. While the inner tent door opening is very large, the fly door opening is not. It's a slim slit in the fly. Look closely at the photos to see this. I had not noticed that before I bought it. This seems crazy to me. Why put a large door on the inner tent if you are going to block it with a very tight and small fly door opening? The fly door eliminated the large door feature I was seeking.
The second drawback I had was in having the fly not staying attached to the stakes on windy days and nights. Where the fly attaches to the ground stakes, by the doors, it does so with metal rings that are too fat. They don't hook into the stakes well, and tended to come off. I had to really angle the stakes into the ground in order to avoid this, and then really tighten the fly straps.
Finally, I had a real problem on dusty windy days. This problem is likely true for any tent that is mostly screen, covered with a fly. In Utah, where it was really dusty and windy, we returned to our tent each day to find it filled with fine sand. Not just a slight dusting... more like 4 cups of sand! Turns out it blew under the fly and then right through the screen material. There was really nothing we could do to stop it."

Cons:
"I cannot say enough good things about this tent! I had obsessed for two months over the purchase of my first new tent in almost 13 years. I had been out of backpacking and hiking for quite a long time. I read many articles and reviews before being convinced that Nemo was the way to go.
I decided on the Losi 3P because of the specifications and user reviews. When the tent arrived, the high quality of both the materials and the construction were quite apparent. Also apparent was the size, true to Nemo's specs, of the tent. This is a true 3 person tent.
I set up first in my backyard in order to become familiar with it. Setup was very intuitive and easy. Break down was equally so. This tent is very sturdy and pitches very tightly. I absolutely love the roll up pack that the tent comes with. It is easy to pack, rolls up tight, and compresses down fairly well.
This past Friday, my wife and I took our new Losi out for a one night "shakedown" on our own property. The temperature dropped to around 30 degrees and it was very damp. We spent a comfortable night. Very roomy. No condensation despite the high humidity.
I do recommend both the footprint and Nemo's Pawprint. The Pawprint is a wonderful idea and really kept our sleeping pads from slipping around the tent floor.
I really cannot think of any cons at this time. Perhaps after more use but, I highly doubt it.
I would also have to say that this tent is truly a 3.5 season model. I highly recommend this tent ... it is worth the extra money."
Pros:
"From the unique pole design and Jake's feet to the near vertical walls and the gear caddy inside, it is hard to find fault with this tent!"
