Good quality......Limited applications

"In my novice opinion, the Nikon 10x25 Travelite V binoculars are of good quality, are lightweight, and are reasonably compact. However, for other novices out there, keep in mind they (and all 10x25 optics) have a relatively narrow field of view, limited light gathering ability, and a tiny exit pupil. These are characteristics of the size, and not the make/model. I wanted a small, easily packable pair for use ..."  Read Full Review

I wanted a small, easily packable pair for use while camping/hiking and for sporting events. Due to the issues above, I decided to trade up to a larger pair (8x42 Trailblazer ATB). For my purposes, the trade off in size and weight was worth it for the larger, brighter, easier to pick up image you get with a larger binocular. I will still probably pick up a pair of 25mm binoculars for backpacking, but they will be 8x (more stable image, better field of view and exit pupil) and roof prism (more compact) - probably Nikon 8x25 Trailblazer ATBs actually. I liked Nikon's quality for the price point, but this particular model was not for me. I would recommend them to a friend if they were sure a 10x25 was what they wanted."

    Pros:

  • Lightweight,
  • Quality lenses

  • Quality lenses,

Great Mini Binos

★★★★★
5.0

"Although a bit smaller than I imagined, these are great binoculars. The feel well built and could probably even take a few drops. The magnification is crisp and clear (as you would expect), but the close focus isn't there (I didn't buy these for that, you may try the 8x25 for that). The case they come in is nice too. I would recommend these to anybody in the market for a pair of compact Binoculars."

    Pros:

  • Compact,
  • Lightweight,
  • Quality lenses,
  • Well built / quality,
  • Works well with glasses

great travel bino

★★★★★
5.0

"i use them when i travel to places , they provide sharp images and are easy to use . The 10 times magnification is great. But unfortunately it is not water proofed. When it rains when i am using these at outdoors , they get wet and i am afraid the water might enter my bino and cause damage .If it is water proofed it would be the perfect binoculars ."

    Pros:

  • Close focus,
  • Compact,
  • Lightweight,
  • Quality lenses,
  • Well built / quality,
  • Works well with glasses

    Cons:

  • Not waterproof

Questions and Answers

Provided by OneCall

Nikon Travelite V binoculars utilize precision-ground, multicoated optics, and high-index BaK4 prisms for true color rendition, maximum sharpness, and enhanced light transmission. They also use aspherical eyepiece lenses that provide a very flat viewing field and offer markedly improved edge-to-edge sharpness over many conventional lenses.

A new, ergonomically contoured, carbon-fiber body makes the Travelite V easy to use for long viewing sessions without physical fatigue. The lightweight body encases a rugged all-metal chassis and is covered with a durable black rubber armor that provides added shock resistance and a positive grip in slippery conditions. It also features large, conveniently located central focus knobs and clicking diopters.
