"I purchased the Nosquito Vacuum two weeks ago and have already caught a quart of mosquitos(just think of all those mosquitos that won't lay eggs). Yes it did shutdown on me during a rain storm but started up with no problem. I initially looked into a Mosquito Magnet but with all the bad reports on the internet plus comments from a friend who has one I decided on the Nosquito. Also the Mosquito Magnet cost is to high. I paid [$] for the Nosquito at Menards and today their having a sale for [$] where the Mosquito Magnets run approx. $300/$500/$700. Not saying the Nosquito Vacuum might let me down and quit working but I'm enjoying the results now."

"This thing turns off all the time. When the wind blows it wont lite and turns off. It spends more time off than working properly. it is real hard for it to stay lit."
"I was skeptical but my husband wanted this. My first red flag was that it only came with two right leg attachments (Both pieces lableled "A" no "B"). We have a mosquito problem and this product worked great at first. But now three weeks after purchase, and 3 different tanks of propane, the power won't even come on. All connections have been checked over and over and over, not even the green light blinks-nothing absolutely nothing. When it did work, it sucked up a lot of mosquitoes but....I'm not buying another one thats for sure. Maybe try another brand but not this one."
"My husband was leary about me buying this. I am financing it through the Home Depot credit card. We live on 14 acreas, surrounded by wetlands with 8 horses. I have gone through 2 propane tanks since May,2009. For two months we have had it on, and only caught a few knats. This item is a rip off. I wish I could return it & get my money back! Friends of mine have a similar product, from a different company and they love it! We have read the directions a dozen times, and we are doing everything correctly. It is just not catching the mosquitos."
"We bought this to replace an aging Mosquito Magnet Liberty, instead of repairing the Mosquito Magnet. Bad idea. This unit "worked" for about two weeks before it started having problems staying lit. Now it just sits there and makes popping sounds. While it was "working", over two weeks time it caught two mosquitoes. The Mosquito Magnet would fill a quart-sized bag every two weeks! Spend the extra money and get a Mosquito Magnet. I'm tossing this in the trash, and sending the Liberty in for repair."
"I purchased this unit yesterday after hearing about the great success that some friends had with their Mosquito Magnet. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, HomeDepot no longer carries the smaller version of the Mosquito Magnet. The initial reviews for this machine were stellar but everyone complained that the unit seldom lasted more than a year.
The Mosquito Vacuum appears to be a solid unit and it is at a price that I am willing to try it. I plugged it in last night and it has already been running for approx 28 hours. The good news is that it captured well over 30 mosquitos by 12pm this afternoon. The bad news is that I decided to move it to a different location and when I did the power cord got detached. With in seconds 30 mosquitos flew right out of the machine. I find this to be a fairly significant issue especially since the power tends to go off quite a bit during the summer months here in FL. It seems to me that there should be something basic included that would kill the mosquitoes once they were captured, like low voltage shock or a little more heat inside to kill them once they entered the netting.
I am going to test this unit for a couple of more weeks behore making a final decision but right now I am very skeptical. I will continue to update the review as I learn more. I am relatively new to this type of device but there certainly seems to be a lot of room for improvement."
"I was against getting this, because it sounded too good to be true. Mosquitoes and Black Flies are terrible in Maine but this really works! It does take a month to see a real difference, but it is great. I have 5 grandchildren that always needed to be sprayed down with Off before going outside to play--but not anymore!"

"I bought this in May 2009 as a replacement for the Mosquito Magnet Defender.....only because HD does not carry the Magnet Defender in stores any longer....and have regretted it ever since. The 1st had to be returned becasue the catch basin was broken. This product DOES NOT stay running. It shuts off randomly and then proceeds to have a 'popping' or 'puffing' sound until I go to check the 'idiot' warning lights....and then the propane tank, lure, cord and outlet. I have a total of 2 mosquitoes in my catch basin whereas the 5 year old Magnet Defender in my front yard is on its 2nd full catch basin of mosquitoes. Do yourself & your family a favor and stick with the original - The Mosquito Magnet (Defender, Liberty or Liberty Plus) and you'll be much happier and your yard will be less buggy."
