"Works as it should right out of the box. Solid feeling. Bait feeder works great. Caught an 8lb brown under a float the first time I cast this morning, and the drag worked perfectly...." Read Full Review

"I liked this product esp. the fact that it has a bait runner option. But I burned one reel out two summer's ago and then I got a replacement reel with the warranty. Then this past summer the handle and shaft broke as I was reeling a 42 1/2" striper ,luckily I had tired it out and was able to pull it in by hand. Now i'm trying to find part's for it so I can fix and test my luck with it next year or just stick with..." Pros:
"i bought this reel pretty late in the season last year so i didnt get to really use it but once, then this year i havent really went out so much been real busy but what time i have got use it i love it. i like the fact that if i am useing live bait or fishing on bottom all i have to do is flip the abf switch and sit back and relax. I also like how smooth it casts and reels. the only problem that i have had is this last time i went i was fishing off bottom i had the abf switched on and all the sudden something grabbed ahold and took off i could hear the reel whizzing as the fish was running with my line so i reach down flipped the switch off and set the hookand the fight was on. I fought this fish for about ten minutes and all the sudden the handle broke right off i couldnt believe it the reel is still practically brand new. I love everything else about the reel and i would definetly recomend this reel to anyone, the only downfall to this reel is the handle it just doesnt seem as durable as the rest of the reel."

"Own both a 30 and a 40. Love the bait runner option especially on the river fishing for cats or winter fishing on the finger lakes for rainbows."

Maybe if I do fix it I'll use just for fresh water? At least I got my money back on the warranty again .I did like the product I just wish it was more durable."

Cons:
"I frequently fish a deep, glacial lake on the Massachusetts/Rhode Island line, heavily stocked with trout by both states. I drift fish live bait, i.e.- crawlers and minnows near the bottom for large brown trout. The Okuma Baitfeeder is the most sensitive baitfeeder reel I have ever used and it has enabled me to bring more large browns to the boat. Thank you,Okuma, for superior quality at an afordable price!"
Pros:
Cons:
"i bought the abf 90 from here about 2 months ago and was very disgusted that it would only hold half the line it was supposed to. i put 300yds of 100lb braid(20lb mono) onto the abf90 and the spool is over full. i dont no where i am supposed to put the other 290yds u guarenteed it would hold. isn't anybody else having this problem? i held like 5lbs of pressure while lining it up."
Pros:
Cons:
"The ABF-20a reel is the smallest and lightest baitfeeder that I was seeking for use with flag activated rod tip ups while icefishing. I plan on using the baitfeeder function to give the right ammount of tension to a shiner to keep it in place but allow the flag to trip and fish to run with the bait in a freespool manner. I am looking forward to reeling in some larger fish through the ice with this set up as well as using it in open water situations Carp fishing."
Pros:
"This reel does all that I ask it to do. I use it with light line for trout. I use it on long ultra light rods while baiting with power bait and floating night crawlers. The drag is smooth. The bait feeder works especially well with floating crawlers using a carolina type rig. Good stuff!"
Pros:
"Out on the first trip with this reel and caught allot of Red Drum between 35lbs and 55lbs. This reel performed great for the money. I plan on getting two more for my wife and daughter."
Pros:
Cons:
"I use it as a heavy duty reel pulling up 50lb catfish from depths of 100 feet."
