"This is a great product don't get me wrong, but there are flaws in it. First off the "dips" they say you can do are virtually useless. The range of motion is about 3-6 inches and nothing more. You will not get a good workout for anything if your doing that. Then there are the push ups. Sure it's a stand that can help you do push ups but I find doing push ups on the floor much easier. Pros:
"I purchased this bar a little leery of it claims. For the price this a great workout/warm up bar! Putting it together was easy and only took about 5 minutes after I removed all the packaging. Sitting it on the door frame only takes seconds. Their is a little metal clip that slips between the door frame and wall for safety. It didn't damage anything but was a little difficult to put in place.
I weigh 160 pounds and was worried about ripping my door frame off but the design of the bar doesn't pull down. Foam padding on the bar has a durable feel to it and cushions your hands. It also cushions where the bar lies against the front of the door frame. I have had no damage whatsoever!
The instructions also show how you can use the bar for push ups, sit ups and dips. As for the push ups, it works. Works different muscles than a traditional push up I think. The sit ups are ok. The bar will hold your feet to an extent but sometimes slips on the door jam and you have to readjust. The dips will work your triceps but you don't get much range. You only rise half a foot or so from the floor.
Overall I am very happy with this purchase. I would buy again and do recommend it for those who want to add a quick workout to their regiment. I have it in my hall and try to a few chin ups every time I walk back to the bedrooms."
Pros:
"i have been seeing this product from TV commercial for a while, however, i was bit skeptical about buying since i had quite a number of disappointments from informercial products specially paying stiff shipping & handling charges. But when i found this from local sporting good stores,i decided to give it a try. i always could return back if it did not work as it was supposed to.
Assembly was rather quick and painless and it got attahced to door exactly like what the TV said. I am an average guy with 5'11" tall and 175 pounds and as i was trying on it did exactly what it said on commercial. i thought to myself "not bad. not bad at all". specially i feel safe doing it.
next i tried doing the push up which worked good and so as the sit up. however, dip feature did not worked out so well because it was not high enough for me to dip myself low.
anyway, it was a pretty decent exercise equipment and i was bit surprised by it.
i strongly recommend this product.
for the money, i think it is a good buy."

You will not get a good workout for anything if your doing that. Then there are the push ups. Sure it's a stand that can help you do push ups but I find doing push ups on the floor much easier. The last problem was that if you have trimmings around your door frames in your house this thing won't fit on it. The "Perfect gym" only fits on normal door frames.
If your door doe s support this it is a great product. You get rubber grips to help you not fall. This is mainly for the pull ups though. The dips you're better off doing on a bench about 2 feet high and go all the way down and all the way up or do some real dips without you feet on the ground. The push ups work but again, it's useless. You can use the floor and get the same, if not better, results.
THIS MACHINE IS GREAT TO USE TO WARM UP YOUR MUSCLES BEFORE A WORKOUT."

Cons:
"I'm a woman and this works. I have had mine for about two months now. I ordered it from a different online source. My biceps have definition and most of all I have abs!! I couldn't believe it myself. I do my pull ups twice a day,and I've been consistant. When I first started I couldn't do half a pull up,but now I can do 2 sets of 10 reps!"
Pros:
"ohhh man! You need this if you have flabby arms! It attach's to any doorway. It's easy to put up and take down since it's light weight. It can hold a heavy person since it's made of strong metal. Best at home workout ever!"
Pros:
Cons:
"For the price, I couldn't complain about the product. The commercials describe the product pretty accurately. It was easy to set up and no tools were necessary. Once I put it together, I put it on my bedroom door frame and started.
Before I got the Iron Gym, I couldn't do a pull up. I started by doing negatives for the first few days and then by the end of the week I could do 2-3. Now, two weeks after purchasing the Iron Gym, I can do five to seven in a row. It's also great for ab workouts and pushups.
The only complaint I have is that it doesn't really work for doing dips. It is much to short, but if you get a box to put your feet on it does the trick.
Overall, a great buy for somebody looking to put a pull up bar in their home without having to screw anything to the walls or ceiling."
"My 14 year old son is using it to build up muscle. He has increased his arm and upper body strength and musculature tremendously and is beginning to look like a body builder. He can now bench press much more weight that he could before conditioning with the Iron Gym.I am a 51 year old mom. I try to do a pull up every day and even with just that few seconds per day I am gaining arm strength. It is very easy to attach to the door frame and take down. My son moves it from upstairs to downstairs and back every day."
Pros:
"This has really helped with my husband's back pain. We have it set up on our bedroom doorway and he uses it a little bit every night doing a few pull ups and then he just hangs there for a little while to stretch his back. He is really satisfied with the improvement. Great product!!"
Pros:
"This is very satisfying. I just bought it today and is VERY solid. Some assembly required, but it comes with small tools to use. I use it mostly for chin-ups and it's great!!! I like the Iron Gym better than regular chin-up bars, because most chin-up bars ruin your walls, but the Iron Gym hangs on your wood molding and has foaming to prevent scratches. It has foaming for excellent grip, too... You must buy this product!!!"
