lever does not stay down after a couple months of use

"We have bought two of these toasters. When the first one broke I thought maybe it was just a fluke. But, the second one did the same thing. After a few months the lever refuses to stay down. This toaster is very inexpensive and looks nice, but it is not reliable. "
