"Bought this hat for a trip out to Death Valley and Yosemite National Parks. I was looking primarily for sun protection but this hat also kept me dry during several rain showers. The chin strap is great to keep it on in the wind (I hadn't anticipated all the wind out there) and when I want to take the hat off, the chin strap let me hang it down my back for easy access (no need to stop to stow the hat in my pack..." "I can see the virtues of this hat--great brim, great coverage, fits really well, but it's too much hat for me, the spring color is not the pale thing you see on your computer screen but a disney bright shade.
