"You really can't beat the Pelican Navigator as a low cost way to get into canoeing. It's extremely affordable, lightweight, and quite stable in the water. "I'll be back once I get it in the water, but this boat was so difficult to but together, I had to mention something.
The bolts and pieces are substandard and I had to buy new ones to make it work. The gunnel is soft and the bolts for the handles needed outside washers for assembly, as they pulle

"Found the canoe to be light weight enough that my wife with short arms is able to help put it on the truck with my help.....The canoe tracks well and is roomy enough for gear and a small ice chest.. The bottom scratches very, very, easy. I use Z-21 on the body after each use.
