"This collar did work with in the first week of training, however the battery does not last very long. I would recommend buying extra batteries at the time of purchase. I also wish that you did not need to turn it on at the collar and instead be able to turn it on from the remote...." Read Full Review

"My 6th month old lab/husky mix Luna is terrified of it. We just used the sound feature and she cries and runs into corners. I wouldn't recommend buying it if you think you dog will be scared of it...." Read Full Review
"I purchased the PetSafe Comfort Fit Big Dog Remote Trainer as a last resort. I have an 8 month old Lab mix who was completely out of control. I tried obedience training, I watched every episode of The Dog Whisper and NOTHING was working. He was so hyper, I couldn't walk him without being pulled everwhere. Guest couldn't come over without being licked and jumped on. My son couldn't walk across the room without him jumping on him. The night I purchased it I saw amazing results. It was a shock to him and he didn't leave his crate. The next morning I took him for his walk and by then end of our walk he was right be side me. He now sits on command and lays down on command. By brother came to visit the next day and he didn't jump up on him. I have only had to use the 'shock' device 3 times. He responds to the sound that the trainer makes without having to use the shock technique. It is a wonderful training device and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone at their wits end."
"Our year and a half old border collie was very territorial. While he could not jump the fence of our yard, The USPS actually put our mail on dog hold because of his barking and jumping on our picket fence. Although we had to move the mail box, the Big Dog Remote Trainer has made a big differance on his barking, digging and jumping on the fence on the first day. The tone is very effective and we have used the shock only with the mail carrier in the area or when he really gets worked up. This training aid has made a big differance in less than one week. I would highly recommend this product to anyone with good strong willed, smart dog who has all the ability to be great and only needs some reinforcement. This product gets you over the hurdle and simplifies training. Very effective. Wish we discovered it 6 months ago."
"We have a 1 year old black lab who is very spirited. We had purchased a wireless containment unit to train her to stay in the yard and that worked wonderfully. All but one thing - she loves to jump on everything. She has jumped all over my car, visitors cars, my 2 year old daughter and anyone that walks through our door. We couldn't keep her calm enough to let her stay out when people came to visit. We finally decided that we had to get her a training collar to tone her down. Within the first evening, she was sitting and being calm when someone walked through the door, she has stopped jumping on my car and she now doesn't think my daughter is a battering ram :o) The only thing I have found that is a semi-negative is the batteries don't last as long as they probably should. Otherwise, I would recommend it highly!"
"I have a 53 pound 8 month old Australian Shepard/lab mix and he was out of control with jumping, biting, and barking. I was ready to bring him to the rescue that I got him from because no matter what I tried he would not stop. I started by just beeping the thing and sometimes he would respond to that but I have only had to give him the stimulation 4 times in the week and all other times the beep was enough. He has not jumped on me in several days and is really behaving himself. barking is down to appropriate levels and no biting after just 1 week. This is an excellent tool. I was hesitant to use a product like this but I am now thourghly convinced it is effective. He now sometimes respnds if I reach for the remote, he will sit and wait for me to stop and then comes to me for praise."
"I was very skeptical about purchasing this, but what a tremendous invention. ""Molly"" is a great big teddy bear -- 14 week old German Shephard and already 40lbs. I have a disabled daughter and needed something to keep Molly from jumping and nipping at her. The dog trainer did the trick. I do not even have to ""shock"" Molly -- the warning tone does the trick. (If I do use the ""shock"" option it is only set on 1). The Remote trainer has been great for preventing digging in the yard, nipping, jumping, and taking things that don't belong to her."
"i bought for my 1 1/2 yrs old pit bull terrier. Eveyone has known that bully breed are stabborn and hard headed. My dog already knows sit and stay , but not the ""come"" command . First day i tired it out on him he freak out and then got used to it and ""come"" on the instant command. but would recommand using negative setting lowest to highest like the booklet tells. Even my pit bull freak out when i would set it only to 7 or 8. i found 5 is the best setting to get his attention and to listen from far away as 50 ft!"
"my pit would not even respond until a 4 just to keep him in line, ive always used the warning first and then the zap at a 5 after that. he now responds to the warning tone and we never have to zap him. this product works especially when you have an animal that does get along with other animals and he needs to stay and stop when you tell him."
"Did you try this out on yourself?? We bought this to use on our dog and tried the different levels out on ourselves before we ever put it on our dog. 3 was where we felt it was a "correction" and 5 and 6 were painful and we couldn't even bring ourselves to try out anything higher than 6 on US, so we definitely won't be using it on our dog. I suggest you try out the levels on yourself before using them on your dog- for his sake! It's just inhumane on the higher levels!"
"We were absolutely amazed at how easy it was to train our Lab/Collie mix dog. He used to drag me down the street even with a choke chain. It only took a few little zaps, and he was no longer pulling, but walking right beside me. We are using the high pitched sound more than the jolt now, because that's all it takes to remind him to behave. Our dog, though, has realized when the collar is on, he better behave, so we just keep it on him, and turn it on when we go for walks. This has been a lifesaver!"
"I purchased this collar as a last resort. I have a 10 month old puppy that still loves to jump up on me and other guests and He also has a habit of jumping on the patio door to get our attention. After much training, nothing seemed to work. After only 5 minutes with this collar I have already seen improvements. The tone only seems to work great. I only need to use the shock part if I need to get his attention. My only regret is that I didn't find this collar sooner."
"I have a pitbull/lab, and he is one rambunctious little fella, He likes to jump on people as they come in the door to greet them, and likes to use corners as a temporary disposal area :P, I purchased this product and within a day I had him letting me know when he had to go out, and within a week I had him not jumping on people; My next step is to test his running boundaries. Great product, a definite must for those training they're pets."
