"The bells are a great idea and work better than the bell I had on a string that my dog would rip off and run away with. However, the strap the bells are attached to isn't of the highest quality (my German Shepherd puppy has already made holes in it by biting it and ringing it at the door). Otherwise works well and is a good product for the price..." Read Full Review

"The quality of this product is very good. The bells have held up even through chewing. The strapping could be a little sturdier as our puppy has been able to rip some nice holes into it. Overall it is holding up well. We started our puppy on the puppy training bells at 14 weeks and she has been using them for a little over 3 weeks now. She still hasn't quite caught on to the process but does have success wi..." Read Full Review
"I have two 14 week old Rottweiler puppies and one 13 year old Rott. They all have learned how to use the bells within two weeks of me purchasing them. What a wonderful day it was when Enzo stopped dead in the middle of wrestling with his sister to run over and ring the bells. I promptly ran him outside and he did his business. Such a nice treat to know when they have to go!!"
Pros:
"My new puppy learned to ring the bell, within the first couple of days. We have had no accidents since we received the bells. When people come over they are impressed. I would incourage anyone to use this item"
Pros:
"I use these bells to call my dogs in from the yard/woods. It sure beats yelling your head off!
I started using a bell when they were young and it works like a charm."
Pros:
"We call them Tinkle-Bells in our house.
Years ago my mother inadvertantly bell trained her dog to go outside using bells that she had hung on the doorknob as a Christmas decoration. The dog figured out that when the bells jingled the door was open and began to play with them. The dog trained herself to use the bells and then trained my mother to open the door whenever they were rung!
When I got a difficult-to-housetrain puppy, I could never figure out her cues to show her need to go outside. This lack of communication resulted in a lot of frustration in the house.
I was reminded of the bells that my mother and her dog used, and hung up a ratty string of bells. Then I found Poochie Bells in a local store. The poochie bells look so much nicer and are very durable.
Within two days my 7 month old pup had figured out that ringing the bells makes someone open the door for her, and within a few weeks she was 100% potty trained. Now I have a 3-month old pup that has figured out the bells and will ring them to go out.
They can be hung on a doorknob or stick up hook. I've hung them from stickyhooks on my sliding glass door. I use one hook at the top to hang the poochie Bells and an upside down hook on the bottom ring to keep the string from swinging madly each time I slide open the door."
Pros:
"My older dog had always just ruffled the plastic vertical blinds at the sliding doors of our old house to signal us he wanted to go out. The younger dog was willing to ring the bells on the toy hung from the doorknob for her signal, but he refused. When we moved, we no longer had the plastic blinds for him to ruffle, yet he still refused to ring our old bells.
Your bells not only look nicer hanging from the doorknobs than the toy, they also ring more easily. By putting a little squirt cheese or peanut butter on the bells for him to lick off, and then opening the door EVERY time he made them ring, the old dog has learned a new trick! He now very happily nudges them to ask to go out. And, because there are 4 bells on each, we can hear them well all throughout the house."
Pros:
"I have 2 Golden Retrievers 1 is 14 years old the other is 5 years old both potty trained. I adopted a small breed probably a mix of poodle and maltese (we don't know for sure)at 2 years old. He was never properly potty trained and I had a hell of time for 8 months trying. Then I bought 2 sets of these bells (one for each patio door)and within 3 days he started ringing them! My husband thought I was nuts when I made the purchase but they really work. Buy them now! You won't regret it. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?"
Pros:
Cons:
"LOVe these bells... I followed the directions and rang the bells and said "lets go outside" she started ringing them on her own within 2 days. THe only downside is that you need to remember to take them with you on vacation or are at someone else's house with your dog. Consistency will pay off though- always try to say the same commands."
Pros:
"I hung this on our back door when Bosley was 4 months old and within 1 day he was using it and the potty training went a lot faster as he loved ringing the bells. Now we just need to decide if he needs to potty or wants to play outside..But he got the fact of ringing the bell opened the door for him!"
Pros:
"WE WERE HAVING A HARD TIME TEACHING OUR 3 MONTH OLD GOLDEN RETRIEVER TO LET US KNOW SHE HAD TO GO OUT. WE DID NOT WANT HER SCRATCHING UP OUR NEW DOOR, AND WE DID NOT WANT TO ENCOURAGE BARKING. THE BELLS CAME WITH SIMPLE DIRECTIONS. WE IMMEDIATELY PUT THEM INTO ACTION. WE HUNG THEM WITH A "COMMAND STRIP" SILVER HOOK RIGHT BY OUR DOOR. AFTER THREE DAYS OF TRAINING OUR DOG WAS CONSISTENTLY RINGING HER BELLS WITH HER NOSE TO GO OUTSIDE. THEY ARE ATTRACTIVE AND WELL MADE. EVERYONE WHO SEES THEM IN ACTION ARE SO IMPRESSED!"
