"I bought this house for 3 stray cats who need protection from tropical rains and to keep their food dry. They love it! I raised it up so the cats hide underneath, they use the inside and sit on the roof. It was so easy to assemble. I added a layer of polyurethane for extra protection. To decorate, I put big wooden letters on the front that say "Cats" and added a cat siloette. It is so cute!"

"I purchased this doghouse in the large size as a puppy-welcoming gift for my parents more than two years ago. While my father is handy enough, I've never heard him rave about anything the way he raved about this doghouse. He said he couldn't believe how easy it was to assemble - the screws were packaged together and easy to find, the holes were pre-drilled in the panels, and everything lined up perfectly to make the house quick and easy to put together.



The raised feet help keep the house from sitting directly on the grass which keeps the dogs dry, and the asphalt shingles on the angled roof help keep the weather out. The top is very easy to remove, which allows us to open it, scoop out old bedding, and put in fresh without it being a huge event. I also purchased the door, which we use in the winter and remove in the hot summer- it really helps keep the snow out, and takes just a few screws to install or remove.



The pictures here are of the house today, two and a half years after purchase. The finish and shingles have both held up remarkably well - summers here get over 100 degrees, and winters can be harsh. I couldn't be happier with this item, and would highly recommend it to anyone needing a doghouse. Oh - and the dogs love it too!"

"I was a little hesitant at first to buy this dog house even though it had great reviews because my insane husky enjoys chewing, destroying, and pulling around everything not bolted down. To my suprise after we wrapped a cable around the house and secured it to a 80 yr old maple she actually realized that is was fun to jump on and off of and it does actually keep you dry so this is the first product she hasn't destroyed....YEAH!!!! As for the smell ect... I had no problems in that area but I look at it as it is a dog house usually to be outside where smell really isn't a factor not a 5 star luxury resort. We needed this product after numerous other attempts at shelter were destroyed by her to keep in compliance with county codes, and so far the county is happy and she is happy so well worth the money!!!"

"I bought this dog house for my friend's dog. He is an outside dog, and with winter coming I wanted him to have a dog house that was more weather resistant. This house was fairly simple to assemble. The personality that this dog house adds to the yard is wonderful. Definately this is the best looking dog house I have seen for this price. I also bought the insulation kit, and am very pleased that I decided to get it. It provides great insulation for the house. The only negative about this dog house is the wood quality, it is quite flimsy and very easy to break,crack,scratch,split, etc. You almost want to handle the individual pieces like they are breakable glass. But, once you get the dog house fully assembled, it is much more durable."

"I had searched the internet for quite some time before I came across the hayneedle website through a Google search engine. I was surprised that they have very competitive pricing and a large inventory to choose from. I was looking for a big dog house for my 130 pound dog. The Precision Extreme Outback Log Cabin Dog House is great because it's very big and assembles in a few easy steps. It also has a removable floor. I would love to see how my big dog likes it, but my other (smaller) dog has fallen in love with it and moved in permanently! I caught her tho other day trying to put up a mail box! ;) This is a really great dog house and I recommend it to anyone who has a large dog and lives in extreme temperatures."

"This dog house is in a large kennell and my Chessie loves it! Especially chewing the molding around the entrance. I got some chew stop and it seems to be working...so far. The doghouse is well designed with the offset entrance. And if it was any easier to put together, the dog could do it himself. All-in-all....great product and would purchase again if needed!"
