"Sometimes I have trouble going back to sleep when I wake up in the night. I use the pillow speaker to listen to preloaded podcasts on my iPod. With my mind occupied, I'm soon sleeping and the podcast runs its course and turns off. Better than pills and cheaper than a psychiatrist! My only complaint would be that eventually the connections become weak and the device stops working. Then I have to buy another o..." Read Full Review

"When I or my husband want to listen to the radio in the middle night, it doesn't disturb the other sleeper. But little wires must easily break, because the sound goes on and off all the time and has to be adjusted over and over. Maybe we could get a better quality made in the USA?..." Read Full Review

"They used to make a thinner model without volume control, which I used for years and frankly liked much better. The current version is too thick to be comfortable unless you like thicker pillows. Would have been better if they would have put the volume control on the cord and kept the speaker thinner. Sound is OK, it's not hifi but not bad, considering how it's used."
"I've had TWO of these and both of them after a few months leaked some sort of blue inky substance and ruined my sheets. I don't know what is in the speaker that the stuff would come from, but when i opened up the second speaker it appeared to be all over the area where the cord enters the speaker."

"I have bought these for years and loved them...but the newest one I bought has terrible sound quality...like listening through a tin can. I guess they have a new manufacturer. Very disappointed."
"It sounds good, when it works. It wouldn't work with my Creative MuVo MP3 player (which was the device I intended to use with it). It uses a mono 3.5" plug instead of a stereo 3.5" plug, so I suspect that not all devices make proper contact with a mono 3.5" plug."
Pros:
"Unable to hear under pillow. I just hang it over the headboard and turn the volume all the way up."

Cons:
"We brought home the pillow speaker and the sound was so faint we took it right back. A second sample in the store was equally bad. Too bad because one from a few years ago worked so well."

"Hello. Besides using this to listen to TV or radio...I use this pillow speaker to listen to my police scanner at nighttime. I have used one of these pillow speakers for many years now. It works great with a police scanner. You can hear all of the calls police respond to at nighttime with this pillow speaker. I think that most people who have police scanners never thought about using this pillow speaker with their police scanner!"
Pros:
"The sound of this speaker is inferior to that of the previous speaker Radio Shack made. It's not as clear and harder to hear well. I use it at night to listen to talk shows when I can't sleep and am constantly having to adjust its position and volume to get it so that the sound is clear and volume right. Not good quality."
