"Ok... So Ive been doing research on these (green laser pointers) for a while trying to find the best one for the price. After extensive research via forums i found that this one would probably be my best choice, and also having used ont before... The only con I can really point out, is one that is of no fault to radioshack... and thats the fact that anything over 5MW is not legal to own apparently... because im ..." Read Full Review

"Save your money!!!!! I bought this product with the hopes that since it was associated with radio shack it would be a quality product. I was greatly mistaken. The laser was intermittent and would turn back on only after shaking it and adjusting the batteries. I was able to exchange it and I had the same problems with the replacement. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this laser...." Read Full Review
"Ok... So Ive been doing research on these (green laser pointers) for a while trying to find the best one for the price. After extensive research via forums i found that this one would probably be my best choice, and also having used ont before... The only con I can really point out, is one that is of no fault to radioshack... and thats the fact that anything over 5MW is not legal to own apparently... because im telling you... as bright as this badboy is... it would be a weapon even at 15 Mw...Ive also had experience with the green laser that [@] sells, and when compared side by side, this one is equally good and even more heavy duty.I will personally say that while I could have bought one of the pointers that can cut and burn things (which is cool)... whats the point when I already own an AR15 that can just blow it away? All in all I must say its a very nice product. Many reviews ive read complain that its too heavy or bulky... i personally like that in many products... I like something I can feel in my hand and know I wont break it just by squeezing a bit..As for the beam... its brighter than einstein.. and apparently there are mods to raise the strength to well over 5 MW... I wont mess with that tho. anyway yes...I would strongly suggest this product, as much as i hate supporting large corporations like radioshack... they still do sell some great things that are well made in my experience.2 thumbs way way up. PS... Being in the Army National guard myself... I hear from many combat vets from Iraq that a green pointer is a good thing to have.. apparently if a vehicle or something gets too close they back right off when a green pointer is shot toward them. hehehehe. love and peace...keep on rockin' in the free world.PPS ( sorry I tend to rant lol)[...]"
Pros:
"Ok, I purchased my first red laser back in 1993 from Radio Shack after learning of their existance(not many 9th graders with a laser pointer in those days), and was extremely satisfied with its reliability over the next 9 years. Then, if I ever needed a red one, they were extremely cheap to own, and everyone had one. Then, I saw an ad for a green laser a few years back, and have been searching for a reliable, long lasting model backed by a ton of positive reviews. Well, thankfully my local Radioshack had just what I was looking for, but at a price much higher than most competition, and for good reason. First off, the dot produced is clear, and exceedingly bright. One reviewer noted how it could light up a dark room, and yes, this is quite true, as it could easily be used in place of a flashlight. Second, the beam is truly visible at night, which was something I was skeptical about until I saw it in action. Third, the distance is indeed as high as others claimed, as I live near a hill, and shined it on a street sign(after midnight with no traffic), that was over 2 miles away, and I could detect a clear reflection.
When it comes to uses, I have used it to point out errors at work, highlight stellar objects, play with my pets(cats LOVE it), get peoples attention(how can you look away when a bright green dot appears next to you), and many other things of a safe nature. Note, if you intend to keep it, and not irritate your local law enforcement, do NOT SHINE IT into peoples homes, onto people, at vehicles, planes, or into the eyes of ANY living creature. I learned my lessons as a child about proper uses of a laser when I obtained my first one. If you use it safely, and respect the fact that most people fear a laser being directed near them(the common thought is it's attached to a gun), then you will get ALOT of use out of this one. After several weeks, it has retained its power, and have had no problems whatsoever. If it were to fall into the toilet, or break, I would pay another 55 bucks in a heartbeat!"
Pros:
Cons:
"Went to the store and brought a little more money for the tax. When i got to the check out,it was more than i expected, the tax was ALOT.I can buy a 1 or 2 bags of candy with that tax.
Over all i got over it and loved it. especially on
foggy nights,or even star pointing.Even when done with a hot steamy shower with all that steam its still a blast.scare flocks of birds, tease spiders to chasing the laser thinking its food.LOVE IT!"
Pros:
Cons:
"Definitely not a toy. I first saw these used at astronomy public nights. When directed into the night sky, atmospheric scattering produces a faint glowing trail so you can "point" attention to whatever star or asterism, but others must be fairly close (10 feet) to view it. Bright enough to use during soft daytime light; would be good for outdoor educators as well.
Warning: People have been investigated by the FBI for pointing these at aircraft on approach. Yes you're easy to find -- there's a beam of light leading right to your backyard! Be responsible; at short range it wouldn't surprise me if these things could cause permanent eye damage.
Overall, I love this thing, though I keep it out of reach from my small children. A serious tool; short battery life is to be expected."
Pros:
Cons:
"Been a fan of lasers for a long time, so I was excited to get this pointer as a gift. I was quickly disappointed with the pointers instability. It would start of bright, then quickly dim. Also, it seemed very tempermental to cold weather changes... quickly. I took it back an exchanged it for another. About a week with the new one, and no complaints! None of the symptoms of the returned pointer!!! Oh what fun!"
Pros:
Cons:
"If you can get past the price tag you will be very satisfied with this laser, though its heavy and huge, it is very comfortable and very very high quality. the dot can travel about a mile and still be visible to you and the beam that follows it can be seen when its dark out, the dot is very round and not flat like other lasers. the beam can flicker a bit usually when the batts are low and will temporarily get dim if held on for too long. care must be taken however, misusing this laser can get you in trouble with the police and can damage your or others eyes, keep in mind the beam will travel 1 mile even if you cant see it.
this is a must have for star gazing and power point presentations, and is just a blast teasing your pets. trust me this laser is 100x better than a quality red one."
Pros:
Cons:
"Great for anything. Definitely bring it on a camping trip. Great for signaling, star gazing, and it really is a lightsaber. My first broke but since I bought the replacement plan it was easily replaced without any hassle. The plan and the laser work great. Definite must buy if you're looking for some fun. The laser comes with bragging rights since green is less common than your friend's red lasers. The laser might come with a smaller dot on the side of the big one. I fixed it by adding a pen clip and bending it to block the smaller dot from appearing. But really, great product for a considerably cheap price."
Pros:
Cons:
"very fun laser goes very far for price. i use this mainly just for fun and its great for that or business. You dont have to be too careful because while it will leave you dazed it does not blind anyone. The only cons I have about it is that it is a little big and there is no heat produced, which is normal for a [$] laser. great for price"
Pros:
Cons:
"This laser is great out of the box at 5mw but with a little "love" wink wink the 35mw output attainable is much better and will be visible as a huge beam and dot iles away"

Cons:
