Rowenta Advancer Iron

"I LOVE the nonstick soleplate on this iron. I LOVE the steam. I think this iron actually produces better steam than my professional steamer. It really does a great job and I'm just sorry I didn't buy it sooner. One drawback, although not a huge one for me but it might be for someone else, is that this iron is a tad heavy. It's not a huge brick or anything, but it does weigh more than the old [..] irons I used to use. Just thought I'd mention it... Otherwise, it is just fab!"

"This was my second Rowenta. The first one I had died after one day (wouldn't heat up) and the store replaced it. The second one worked fine for about 14 months and then, suddenly, started leaking - badly. If you do a bit of research you will find that this is a common problem with these irons that was not apparent when the model was released since the leaking usually takes around a year to start. Apparently, the heat generated by the iron erodes the seal inside. I tried to take the iron apart, but it doesn't seem possible to remove the sole plate. So, into the trash it goes. I am replacing it with the much less expensive and more durable T-Fal Ultraglide."

"I used this iron for two months before it died. Iron got extremely hot and smelled like it was burning. Would not heat up again after that. Very disappointed!! Spent way too much on an iron for it to only last 2 months."

"I had read all the reviews about Rowenta irons just not working one day when you go to use them, but didn't think I would have that problem until today. I have had the iron about 3 years, but it has not been used that much. I lightly iron a few things a month and pillow cases once a week. Today the read light won't stop blinking and it will heat for about a minute then stop. Not sure what I replace it with."
