Review Summary This canister vacuum receives strong endorsements from pet owners and professional cleaners. Praised equally by those using it on hardwoods, carpets, and furniture, it offers a surprising amount of power. It's capable of sucking in throw rugs, even on the lowest power setting. Users appreciate this vacuum's easy handling, reasonable weight, and moderate noise level. One inconvenience: there is no holder for the floor attachment. And finding the correct bags for this machine can be difficult. One user suggests ordering several at once from an online retailer, so you never run out.

Royal RY3050 Procision Full-size Canister Vacuum Review
"I just finished using my new vacuum cleaner for the first time and am very pleased with its performance and styling. The vacuum was very easy to put together, my 11 year old son helped me and we finished in 5 minutes, total. The vacuum has powerful suction like the other reviewers stated but I disagree that the handle could be longer. It is exactly the same length as my other vacuum cleaner that the Royal is replacing. It is nice to have the opportunity to adjust the suction when needed and the ability to shut on and off the rotating brush is especially helpful when maneuvering from one surface such as hardwood to wall to wall carpeting and then area rugs. The retractable cord has a strong spring mechanism and will probably last a lot longer than my other vacuums'. The only downside I could find was the weight of the vacuum which is manageable, and probably will outlast the plastic one's you find a lot of on the market today.
Overall, you will not be disappointed with this vacuum. A quality vacuum at an affordable price."
Royal RY3050 Procision Full-size Canister Vacuum Review
"As an owner who prefers canister-style vacuums, I would recommed the Royal. I was not familiar with the Royal name for home use, but I noticed the cleaning crew at my office building uses a commercial version and thought it might be worth a chance because of the low cost and on-line reviews. I previously used a Hoover Dimension 4000, which by the way more than 15 years ago cost more than two times the Royal. The Royal proved powerful, quiet and handy. It's light-weight, which concerns me somewhat about it's long-term durability but only time will tell. As a drawback, the cord seems unusually short, which requires multiple changes to outlets. The other drawback remains finding bags. In my area, no retailers carry Royal, which means the internet becomes my only source."
Royal RY3050 Procision Full-size Canister Vacuum Review
"A very powerful vacuum, and I thought I would really enjoy it for a long time; however, after less than six months, the motorized carpet brush started shorting out. The cord that connects the carpet brush to the main vacuum is garbage. Since our return period is expired, we will have to pay for the repairs ourselves. Also, if you have an average to large home to vacuum, the bag will have to be replaced constantly - it is tiny. And, they are bags that you can't pick up at your local grocery/drug store. You either have to order them online, or go to a vacuum cleaner dealer. Maybe we just got stuck with a lemon, but I wouldn't recommend this vacuum to anyone."
Royal RY3050 Procision Full-size Canister Vacuum Review
"I was pleased to see the Royal canister vacuum was sleek and modern. I have always been satisfied with my previous Royal vacuum. The assembly for use was effortless and I needed no instructions. The suction was amazing and the hand held unit (hose and metal pipe) is light weight and easily propels forward. So easily propelled....that I was banging into my furniture legs with very little applied pressure. I'm not real crazy about the on/off switch. You have to hold in for a few seconds before it catches and it does not feel as though it will. Overall: I'm pleased."
Royal RY3050 Procision Full-size Canister Vacuum Review
"I had previously owned a royal and i loved it, but needed to upgrade to more power. I think this product is great for the money and so far has done a great job on my carpeting and floors. The down side to it is that there is not a place to hold the attachemnt for the floor, so you must carry it. I changed the heads constantly i go from rug to floor several times throughout my house. Also the retractable cord doesnt work well. i have to push it back in myself. That might just be a defect on my vacuum and not all. I would recommend this product for the money."
