"The unit is an attractive egg shape and attractively decorated. The controls are easy to operate. The CD tray opens on an angle so the CDs slip out placement and jam the door almost every time you press the close door button. The output jack makes static through the speakers. The camera quality is poor and the camera broke the 1st day. My daughter likes the machine but I will replace the broken one with a different brand."

"I waited to write a review because of the poor reviews this product received. We have NO complaints at all. My daughter got this for her 4th birthday six months ago. She loves it and still will play with it everyday. I wish I could find a boy version of this for my son. The TV is cool. The kids can watch themselves sing. We use the TV screen as a night light as well. It is very popular during playdates. I would recommend it. Only bad thing is it looks like it is a fifty/fifty chance you will get one with no problems."

"Our 5 year old daughter received it for Christmas. She played with it all day...the CD stopped working. No music, no words on screen. It wouldn't even register that a CD had been installed, or locate the number of songs like it was suposed to. Over all, is an exciting concept for kids, and she loved watching herself on tv, but just does not meet the demand of an "all day singer". We returned it, and are getting one that will last much longer than one day of play. Most likely, a professional version for our serious singer."

"This Hello Kitty karaoke is the best gift for a 5 yr old girl. My daughter wanted a CD player and a microphone. It's much more than that. The little camera that has in the middle lets her watch herself while singing. It's a great tool for her to practice reading while having fun with it."

"After great difficulty ordering and actually having it be in stock (as listed on website, once for buy and pick-up - canceled, second time for shipping bought and fifteen minutes later emailed to say backordered) it finally arrived two dys before Christmas - whew! Only to be opened Christmas morning by my six year old to find that her vocals are so quiet coming through that she really can't be heard (anymore than her simply standing next to the machine singing without the mic). If you put your ear next to the machine you can tell her voice is coming through. Tried all troubleshooting, played with every dial and button, no change. To boot the video quality makes a [@] security cam look like something you'd shoot for IMAX with, it is AWFUL. I have asked my daughter if I should attempt to return this to the "elves" for repair or to replace with something else if they can't fix it, she agreed immediately saying it really wasn't fun the way it is. Big bummer for 6 year big santa present!"

"my 5yr old got this for her birthday from her grandmother she wanted a karoake maching more than anything because she loves to sing. When she saw it she was so excited it was an amazing idea and i thought it was going to be the best gift she had ever recieved. unfortunatly the features did not work as it was supposed to. the mic worked as did the cd player BUT that was it. the words DID NOT come up on the screen and the camera did not work what so ever. there is constant static that she doesnt mind hearing but is very unpleasant for the parents to hear non stop.Also, the most recent problem is that the cd machine is slanted and is now literally eating the cds i have had to take a butter knife and get the cds from under the cd holder..just very disapointed as i was so excited for something that could have been an extremely great toy for my daughter"

"Got this for my daughter a few weeks ago for her 5th birthday. Even though I had read some bad reviews on it I just thought those people had gotten a defective product and thought I might get a good one still. The cd it comes with got stuck in the player and the player broke within the first hour (and that's with adult supervision). You can't even recognize your image on the monitor because it looks like a tv without an antenna from the 70's, so my daughter never did get it that it was intended for her to see herself. The amplification sound is okay and the design is really cute but if that's all you are getting I wouldn't pay more than $40 for it (I paid [$] plus tax) but I'll be returning it and getting her something else for the money. She didn't get attached to it so I have permission."

"My sister bought this for my daughter for her third birthday. It was love at first sight! My daughter loved to watch herself in the screen as she sang along, until after four weeks the microphone just stopped working. Then we put the cd in and it did not play. I pressed the eject button and the cd was gone! It fell in the machine! Not only was my daughter upset that the machine was not working, it was nearly impossible to explain why the CD was missing. I don't even understand how that happens. Do not buy this product. We will be returning it this weekend and getting her something else."

"We ordered this identical hello kitty karaoke with video but from another website- it arrives a different model (although same model#) - NO video camera on top, no video capabilities. I called this website to verify we could order this from them and get it with video, they said contact the mfr. I called them & they said there are NO video capabilities! Wow- isn't this false advertising? Saying you'll get something that's not really there?? So be warned, it wont look like the photo, & it just displays lyrics on screen if you use a CDG. normal cd's just play & they sing along to- that's it."
