"It's a nice, lightweight tv for a bedroom. However, when I was working out on the floor and looked up at the tv, the colors were off. Otherwise, the colors and sound are just fine. Also, when I connected it to my dvd recorder / vcr, I thought that I did everything correctly, but I was not picking up all of my channels. I didn't have a problem with my other TV (different brand)in the living room when I connect..." Read Full Review
Pros:
"I bought this TV to replace an old CRT-style analog TV (Sony Trinitron WEGA) that was experiencing interference from a neighbor's defective remote (old TV being powered off and on by said defective remote without any action on my part. Since old analog TV (had it not been subject to interference from neighbor's defective remote) would have required the purchase of an HD converter box, it make good sense financially to just replace it with an HD TV. The Samsung Series 4 was an extremely fortuitous find - not only did it resolve the interference problem from the neighbor's defective remote and make using a converter box unnecessary, the image, the sound, the everything about this HD TV exceeds expectations! If you can possibly afford it, don't buy a converter box; upgrade your analog TV to a Samsung! You'll be more than glad you did!"
Pros:
"I bought the TV to replace a 13" tube TV that will not be able to receive over the air signals next year when broadcasts go digital. Since I had used my discount coupons for the converter boxes for my two larger TVs, I needed a smaller TV that was easily transportable. I demand a good picture and have always bought top of the line. My son, reported that Samsung was considered by many to be nearly the equal of Sony at a lower price. While I could not this TV with a Sony, it clearly had a sharper and more constrasty picture than the other brands I saw. We did not look for at 1080i set because one cannot tell the difference between 720 and 1080i at this size. We have been very pleased."
Pros:
"I bought this TV to replace a 13" CRT in my kitchen. Based on the reviews, it had a stronger digital tuner than most others, important to me because I currently use a rooftop antenna to receive my local broadcasts in HD. I also subscribe to DirecTV and combine the signals received with a signal combiner. I own a Sharp 42" LCD for my living room that will not tune some HD channels although it is connected to the same antenna. This Samsung tuner did not disappoint me.The tuner is strong and will tune most every HD channel within 30 miles of our home. The design of the TV is slick, looks great, and has a good combination of inputs and outputs for a TV of this size. The menus are easy to navigate. The picture quality of HD is very good, but should be on any HDTV of this size. I've tweaked all the settings to optimal levels as I like them, but occasionally blacks are not always as black as they should be, sometimes dark pictures look gray or foggy. Please believe the posters about the sound quality of this TV. I read many reviews about this TV before purchase and some indicated acceptable sound. It's not! And I've checked other, similar sized TV's and they are not as bad. Even though our Samsung TV is only located in the kitchen where I'm not especially critical of the sound, the downfiring speakers sounded terrible. Hollow, tinny, no depth to the sound at all. Even with all the adjustments available in the menus, I could not get acceptable sound. I promptly went out and puchased a cheap set of Altec Lansing amplified PC speakers and connected them to the headphone jack to place along side of the TV. If only Samsung had put $15 more into the speaker system, my wife would not have something else to dust off in the kitchen[...]"

Cons:
"Needed a replacement TV for the kitchen. Found out that Samsung will auto-adjust based upon input signal from 4x3 to 16x9. I hate pushing buttons to avoid seeing "fat people" when the aspect ratio changes. Picture is nothing short of amazing for a small TV. Mine is hooked directly to the cabe, no box."
Pros:
"Purchased this TV to put in my kitchen as a replacement for my 10 year old Tube set. Great picture, excellent color balance right out of the box. Plugged it in, hooked up the HDMI cable and was good to go.
Hooked it up to my FiOS Set Top Box using an HDMI cable and dont have any problems that have been reported in some forums.
Have heard others complain about the sound level being low, but after going into the AUDIO SETTINGS and tweaking the custom settings, it sounds great.
Only issue I have is when you mount the TV high on the wall and view it from below in close proximity to the set, the picture starts to get darker.....hard to explain but it still doesnt take away from the great set that it is!"

I didn't have a problem with my other TV (different brand)in the living room when I connected it to the same model dvd recorder / vcr.
I guess I'll have to redo the setup from scratch, otherwise I won't be able to record all of my channels."
Pros:
Cons:
"I use the tv for nightime viewing in my bedroom. My Westinghouse died after only one year, and I could not sleep through the snoring in my room without the tv on. I decided to buy a name known for quality this time. I was impressed with the picture, but most of all the sound. I had formerly had to use speakers to get good sound, which I continued to use for auxiliary sound. Time will tell how long it will last running all night, but so far, I love it."
Pros:
"This set is one of three Samsungs I own.
Just like its big brothers,it sets itself up almost instantly. No hassle at all.
Once you're up and going, you can change the picture parameters to suit your personal tastes very easily.
I really can't find anything to fault it on. The things you can tweak aren't as extensive as on the larger sets, but there are enough to keep you happy.
Great set. No problems. If it fits your bill, go for it."
Pros:
"This TV is good in every way except for picture brightness and contrast. No matter how I tweak the picture adjustments, the picture often looks as though it is behind a smoky gauze. Even my old nondigital picture was brighter than this! Unfortunately, I believed that the 3000:1 contrast ratio would produce a dramatic picture! Profit from my gullibility. Choose another TV!"
