"This is a good product for the price. Just do yourself a favor and "regrease" all the gears that are pregreased from the manufacturer. I built and it squeaked. When I did online search I learned that regreasing the pregreased parts would solve the problem and it did! Just clean off the grease it comes with and use white lithium grease on those parts before putting together. It will save you time and works g..." Read Full Review

"[...] I only get to work out on it once. the product itself has only worked once, then in the second workout it developed a really bad squeak, so loud that the neighbot complained. "We bought this trainer 2 weeks ago. Assembly instructions were a little complicated. It took me a while to figure out what goes where. And I can consider myself an expert when it comes to assembling things. There are a couple of things you need to do which are not mentioned in the owners manual or assembly instructions. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN the bolts. If you do, your trainer will make an unbearable squeking noise. That may worry you in the beginning as you do not expect a brand new equipment to make such noises. Secondly, get a bottle of lithium based lubricant and apply it to all moving joints.
And you have a super-silent elliptical.
This trainer is awesome. It is very sturdy and the elliptical motion is not rabbit-hopping like the others ellipticals in this price range.
The eddy current resistance is reliable and silent. It enables you to do the reverse motion as well. The control panel is clear and easy to use. Many users complain about the screen not being back-lid. If you prefer back-lid screen go with the 431 which is the same elliptical with fancy screen. It'll cost you $200 more.
Overall, my experience has been very good with this machine. I strongly recommend."

"I've read a lot of reviews for ellipticals and finally went to the store and tried 'em. This one feels even better than the $1500+ ones. The strides feel just right and the entire unit is built very solidly. I've heard of people complaining about noises while using others, but this one is soooooo quiet that my wife uses it while my two year old is napping. The only thing I've heard from the other room (with the door open) was the occasional beep from the console as she pushed buttons.
Buy this thing. I'm a big fan of researching everything I buy and this is a GREAT machine. Don't read any more reviews. Just buy this one. Trust me, if you're reading this.......you're just like me."
Pros:
"[...]setup was pretty easy and intuitive(despite reading a few comments to the contary), and its running smoothly and queitly so far.I put difficult to use as even when set to the lowest resistance my wife has a hard time going past 15mins. This may get easier with time and conditioning (I easily do 45+mins on lvl 3), but she claims I may have tightened some screws too much. :-)There is no storing or hiding of this thing, but the size is moderate to begin with, so its not that big a deal. Hope this helps."

"I am in bad shape fitness wise, and my husband bought this product for me hoping to help my health. This eliptical is wonderful--I started at Level I and am working my way up. A problem I had exercising in the past was hurting my knees, and this low impact machine is perfect for me. I can't say enough good things about this product. It is perfect for all levels of fitness, and it will accomodate my fitness level as it gets better and better. I have lowered my cholesterol and am losing weight. I had given up at 52 at ever getting in shape, and now I have hope!"
Pros:
"I have had my elliptical for about a month & use it about six days a week.
It provides a great cardio workout and is easy to use. Some have complained that it's a bit noisy, but I added a little extra lubrication in some of the moving parts during assembly & after the first few days (when - I'll admit - it was pretty darn loud), I haven't had a problem with noise at all. For a smaller unit, it is pretty sturdy. Not as sturdy as the bigger models you'll find in a gym, but then again, it doesn't weigh 500 lbs either. Only when I'm sprinting on it do I find that it rocks just a little bit.
I am a little suspicious of the electronics. They were glitchy at the beginning, and they don't appear to be really well constructed. I haven't had a major problem with them yet, but I worry about that over the long term.
I don't use the higher levels of resistance much. I'm more interested in the cardio and working up a good sweat for an hour or so, but I've tested out the top resistance levels and they're pretty tough.
The only minor complaint I have is that the 18" stride is a bit small. I'd prefer a longer stride for a better workout, but this is still pretty darn good."

"I've been doing some sort of aerobic exercise at least 5 days a week for years. I got plantar fasciitis from power-walking, rotator-cuff problems from swimming, and knee problems when using a recumbent bike (Schwinn). A friend with a $2000+ elliptical trainer recommended buying one. I don't spend that much on an exercise machine. He was surprised at the quality of the 430 for the price. I chose the 430 because of the price, because having had a Schwinn recumbent bike I knew Schwinn makes quality machines, and because I found one locally that I could try out (at a much higher price than Mercantila). I've been using it for about 9 months and have had no new pains. And my knee pain has pretty much gone as I assume it's being strengthened during my workouts. The machine was making a noise at one point but it was only because a bolt on one of the wheels became loose. Tightened it and no noise problems since. The only problem with the machine is that the heart rate monitor doesn't work well at all. Other reviews I've read mention the same problem."

"I have been using this baby at least 4 times a week for 60 - 90 minutes at a time for the past year, and I totally love it. It is still in great shape, and is still a quiet ride. The program variety is very nice, and the elliptical is surprisingly sturdy for an at-home machine. It definitely gets me sweating, and has been the answer to my road-wrecked knees (running had been starting to cause me lots of pain). The compact size allows it to fit easily into our apartment's small second bedroom amongst the rest of our junk in there. If you are serious about getting your workout in on your own time, this is the best investment ever. I know not everyone is able to stay committed to a workout routine, but I definitely believe that having your own machine that feels like gym quality within arms reach is helpful. I would highly recommend this elliptical to anyone and I totally love it!!!"
Pros:
"As we have several purchases of exercise equipment in our past, this is by far the best. Took a while to set up (look out for the wide washers vs reg washers) but everything fit and had no missing parts. It's super quiet so if it had a backlight on the display, I could use it during my midnight boredom session. I also like the flywheel in front as other brands seem 8' long and cumbersome. This is easy to both store and move around."
Pros:

The service company shipped the wrong part TWICE and I still have not had my elliptical fixed to this day, I purchased it May 26, its now August 20. And the entire time I've owned it it has been a head ache. I recomend buying your machine from your local sports store, this hassle is not worth the great price, it's not such a great price if you cant use it."
