"The picture is great; however, the sound quality is quite poor. The sound has very, very low amplitude at max. level - - even though the speakers are rated at 15-Watts per chanel/speaker, and the speakers sound really tinny...." Read Full Review

"I did a lot of research before I bought my Sharp Aquos 37" TV.
I was first looking at Samsung but I kept reading reviews that said the sound was bad, so I decided to look into technical reviews and I am glad I did.
I have watched football on my friends HDTV and everything in the background seemed to jump around. Upon reading reviews I found this was a result of a slow response time of the TV.
Another thing I looked at was screen life. To make a long story short all three pretty much said to satay away from Korean made TVs, and stay with Sony, Sharp, or Panosonic.
When we got the TV the set up was a bit of a pain in the bottom part of one's anatomy, but once we got through that I got to sit down and enjoy.
The clearness of the picture on this 1920x1080 is nothing short of amazing. The colors are deep and so crisp and clean.
I was watching indy racing and it was super. The background just flowed by with none of the jumping that I have seen in other TVs.
I stuck with a 37 inch because of size limitations and this worked out super.
When reading between LCD and Plasma I am glad I choose this unit as anything this small (if you call it small) will not get a true HDTV due to restrictions of the plasma performance.
All in all I would say that anyone looking for a great HDTV at a great price you can not go wrong.
The resolution and the fast response time along with the Sharp reputation for quality makes this set a perfect buy."

"The Aquos LCD TV was put in our 16' x 13' apartment living room. 37" should be the minimum size for any TV to be put in a living room, in my opinion.
I feel that the graphics performance and response time are consistently well, as described in the reviews and specifications on the Aquos D64 series.
The product quality and appearance reflects the price we paid for. We are satisfied with it.
The only major drawback is the sound quality - very dull. It is actually similarly bad as on the Samsung LCD TVs too. Sony makes much better speakers on their LCD TVs.
We would recommend this TV to friends who looking for excellent-quality LCD TV at a bit higher price."

"This was an impromptu purchase after my daughter's friend killed my favorite TV with the Wii Remote. Papa has to have his big screen![...] the TV emerged perfect!I picked the Sharp because it's the only 37" model that fits in our custom entertainment center. All the rest are too big. Plus, we have another Sharp (CRT) that's performed flawlessly for the last eight years. What I like: The picture is stunning with blacks much deeper than the LCD which was broken. The digital tuner pulls in OTA broadcasts at least as well as the converter box it replaces. The higher resolution makes it suitable for connecting to a computer. In fact, after connecting it to my Mac, on it's own the computer decided to make it the default display. I'm ordering a wireless keyboard and mouse so I can surf and email from the Lazy-Boy eight feet away. And I particularly like the automatic backlight brightness control - very nice for adjusting to a variety of ambient conditions. What I don't like: The gloss black bezel and stand will show every fingerprint and speck of dust. Some of the on-screen menu items are tedious and non-intuitive, I.e. manually deleting unwanted channels from the automatic scan. Fortunately you only have to mess with this once. Worst of all is the remote. It's ridiculously long with a poor layout and at least five unnecessary buttons I can think of right off the top of my head. The menu navigation buttons don't control channels and volume like they do on other TV remotes - instead there are two rockers. Instead of hitting the Menu button to exit the menus there is an Exit button. There is even a Return button to move backwards in the menus instead of pressing the navigation keys. To top it all off, there are two Enter keys - one for the menus and the other for the number pad. There is a nice light for the remote but it doesn't illuminate the number pad - where you need it the most in a dark room. Although you can buy a better remote, if it weren't for the remote Sharp provides, this TV would earn five stars."

Cons:
"This unit replaced a very good 27" Sony CRT TV. It took two stout men a good effort to remove the Sony from the shoulder high bracket. It only took one of us with mild effort to replace it with the Sharp Aquos. My limited electrical bandwidth is very happy with the lower power requirements. It appears to be a typical modern HD picture (that in itself is a high minimum expectation). My main problem with the set is that it take too long for the change in input to take affect. It's easy to think the correct input maybe was missed? Also, I should have picked a set with three HDMI connections, not two. That was my error in researching a new HDTV. I didn't need the stand as I used an existing wall bracket. All in all, I am very happy with the TV and the price. As always, I purchased this at OneCall with great confidence."
Pros:
Cons:
"Great set with awsome picture and sound, but limited connection options are a problem for people that need atleast 3 HDMI ports ( cable box, dvd player, video game) This set has only 2
and not the 3 stated in the discription. If I had know this set only had 2 HDMI I would not have bought it. I would have purchased a amsung or a Toshiba"
Pros:
Cons:
"This is an excellent tv for anyone who has an entertainment center that won't accommodate a 40" or larger tv. Most 37" tv's were too wide to fit in my entertainment center but Sharp has managed to make a high quality HD tv that is still a reasonable width. The only reason I didn't give it 5-stars was because of the sound quality. The slim design might be to blame for the small speakers but since mine is hooked up to a home theater receiver anyway it really didn't make a difference to me."

Cons:
"I was looking for a 37-inch set for the bedroom to replace a 26-inch set, and went with this one. I am very pleased with it. [...] Set-up (including attaching stand) took about half-an-hour total, and was a breeze. I am very happy with the picture. Sound does not seem so powerful -- more than adequate for bedroom, perhaps not for den unless using home theater system. Also, I was surprised that there was only one component in; I had to purchase an additional HDMI cable. Overall, though, the price was great and I am very pleased with it (second flatscreen purchase from OneCall and both were without incident)."
Pros:
"I had read a review that said this model's sound system was lacking for anything larger than a bedroom, which I tend to agree with, but it was very easy to attach external speakers which make up the difference. We got this tv for general use and home theater in a bedroom-sized finished and carpeted basement room and it is fantastic for the space. It has superb contrast, great color and is very easy to use. [...]"
Pros:
Cons:
"With a width of 35.5", narrower any other brand of 37" HDTV, it fits into my entertainment center's 36" wide TV bay with 1/2" to spare.
Setup was easy, and the manual appears to be well-written.
The TV is connected to the DVR settop box with an inexpensive HDMI cable, and the HD presentation is spectacular. Unless you have a home theater setup or are an audiophile, the sound from the bottom-mounted speakers is more than adequate.
I highly recommend this set."
