Awesome product, awesome price
"Pros The picture is great. It's easy to set up. It's easy to use. It took only 5 minutes to set up the stand. A few adjustments to the color quality later and we were in HD hevean! The only thing I really needed to adjust were the color settings. The speakers are really nice. The audio-only feature is great. A Few Problems to Note
"Pros Great size, weight, price and ease of installation. The TV looked great out of the box. Cons I've been using it now for 4 months and am now experiencing issues. There is backlight bleed from each of the four corners that becomes noticeable during credits when the screen is nearly all black, or any other very dark scene. Awesome product, awesome price
"Pros
The picture is great.
It's easy to set up.
It's easy to use.
It took only 5 minutes to set up the stand. A few adjustments to the color quality later and we were in HD hevean! The only thing I really needed to adjust were the color settings.
The speakers are really nice. The audio-only feature is great. I tune into a music channel and set the TV to audio only and have a house full of great commercial free music.

The remote control could have been designed better. It's large for no reason and has a flip-down bottom. It looks like something that would have been hi-tech in 1982. But who doesn't have a universal remote? Or at least a cableTV remote?"

"Great looking HD picture.
SD picture is a bit "blurry", but that is a problem all HD displays have.
Smart Stretch aspect changes a 4:3 to a 16:9 aspect ratio without squashing the picture very much.
3 HDMI 1.3 connectors are a huge plus if you are connecting "intelligent" peripherals that adhere to the HDMI 1.3 standard.
Sound is adequate from the internal speakers for standard viewing, but you should invest in a home theater system for something more robust.
Image starts to wash out if you are viewing past 120 degrees off center. Some tweaking is needed for a perfect picture, but is sufficient for average viewing out of the box.
Looks good when it's off too. The bezel is very thin all the way around and does not look like cheap plastic like other models."

Great value!
"Pros
Lots of connections (5 HDMI!), awesome picture, perfect size for my living room, great audio and video options. Next-gen video game systems look great, as well as both regular and HDTV.
Cons
It's not saving my input labels, but it's not that big of a deal. It would also have been nice if the stand pivoted and the remote control didn't look like it was from 1990, but again, not really a big deal.
Review
After cross-shopping different brands (Sony, Samsung, Vizio), I narrowed it down to Sharp and Samsung. Ultimately, what helped make my decision was a promotional offer (coupled with my brand loyalty), and I am NOT disappointed by this purchase!
I've read on other reviews that this TV has bad sound, but I haven't heard it yet (and hopefully I don't have to!). The picture needs very little tweaking (if any at all) out of the box, and it is right up there with the "bigger" name brands."

"I use this TV for everything: Cable, Blu-ray movies, Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, and Macbook Pro. It works great and the picture is amazing with all my devices. Watching movies at 1080p has never been better. The black level on this TV is simply the best I have ever seen. I do not have any banding of any kind and I do not see any dead pixels with this unit. I am happy to say this is the best TV you can get for the price. I would like to bring up one item that I am having an issue with. Sometimes the TV’s audio doesn't work when I switch back cable after using other HDMI devices. It does not happen often. It's happened two times within the 2 weeks I owned this TV. It can easily be fixed my turning off the TV and turning it on again. It does not bother me though. In fact if it weren’t for this issue the TV would be prefect beyond compare."

"The Sharp LCD64U is the best LCD tv i've seen yet and that's not just because i now own one.I did 3 months worth of research and decided on this make and model over Sony and Samsung for a bunch of reasons, most importantly being quality,picture,price,reliability,and current owner satisfaction.Sony's are simply too expensive for what they give you and inferior in many ways to the Sharp and Samsung equivalent models imo.Samsung is also a nice choice but with the Sharp you get a bigger screen(42 vs. 40 and it DOES make a difference) with equivalent quality to Samsung.[...]If you want a great TV you'll love and want to buy it from a excellent and supportive retailer, then do what i did and pick up a Sharp LC D64U from [...]"
