"This is a great little light. It works fantastic when coupled with a camcorder that has ability to 'see' IR light. It's battery life really isn't that long (anywhere between half an hour to an hour), so I'd suggest getting a couple so you can keep one on charge ready to use when your other one dies. At this price, it really is a steal considering how much other IR lights cost...." Read Full Review

"[...] works out of the box but I was hoping for a totally IR photo and this spills dim red light."
Pros:
Cons:
"I purchased this light for use during investigations. It is attached to a Sony Handycam MiniDV camcorder in Super Nightshot Mode. At a full charge this light has been able to illuminate a room the side of a 3 car garage at 0LUX.
- It doesn't give off a noticeable visible light.
- It's small and very lightweight.
- The 2.5 hr charge time is long but acceptable
- It has lasted 80min after being fully charged
I recommend this light for anyone who is wanting to take video at 0LUX. It works with any camera that has a night shot mode but is recommended (by me) for use only with a Sony. I have a Cannon Optura 30 and it doesn't illuminate anything. My Sony, however, can see large rooms clearly."

Cons:
"I have a fugi still camera that has been modified to see about 1100NM in the IR range. When i used the sima light with it the illumination in 0 lux is awesome! The light is more of a flood light unlike the sony IR light which is more of a spot light. The only thing that could be better is if it ran off of "AA" becouse the the charge only last an hour."
Pros:
Cons:
"I use the SIMA SL-20IR with my Sony Handycam HDR-XR200V but I found it rather disappointing for long term use. I'm conducting a paranormal investigation and the problem is it takes about 3 full hours to charge this device and all you get for that is at max 1 full hour of infrared lighting. The worst problem is that it doesn't even allow you to turn it on while it's charging, so keeping it plugged in while trying to use it is a no go. It would be great for night recording some sort of short event outside but other than that this is almost useless to me for my stationary work during 8 hour minimum recording sessions. Without a working infrared illuminator the night shot function on my camcorder is extremely limited."
Pros:
Cons:
"Great for low light situations. Illuminates so much better than the built-in IR on my Sony camcorder, the difference was incredible, like night vs. day. Has own power source so won't drain your camcorder. Versatile because you can use more than one at the same time. Range is about 30' and any room within this dimension will be very well lit. Only wish it would reach even further to be effective in very large venues. Highly recommend."
Pros:
"I originally bought one for my Sony camcorder with night shot and it made the biggest difference that I bought two more at a GREAT price from B&H!
Pros- great lighting, easy attachment, multiple lights can be attached to each other and easily, and comes at a great price
Con- though it has decent battery life the battery depletes even when it's not being used, so charge it before you use it everytime."
Pros:
Okay okay, we get it. You LOOOOOOOOVE this product.
"These are a great upgrade from the standard Sony IRs that I used for paranormal investigations. They light up the whole room instead of just seeing a circle of light. My only complaint would be they take 3-4 hours to charge and only last just over an hour. However, with the ability to stack these lights together, you can have multiple lights on hand as back up. I have already bought my second set of two. Great price!"
Pros:
"This ir illuminator is a great addition to our "ghost hunting equipment." I matched it with my B&H s7 camera and it provides outstanding lighting for our infrared shots. Quite dependable and easy to use. Would recommend this light to anyone who needs the IR lighting. Works great to distances of 70 to 80 feet. Perfect for full room illumionation."
Pros:
Cons:
"I do alot of photographing in darkness with nightshot but the IR light I had never was suficiant. The first time I used this light I was blown away, not only was it bright enough but it helped the pictures be less grainy. They were very clear.. Thank you so much. I will be ordering another for my other cameras soon."
