Pros:
"This is my second Sonnet PCIe card and both have performed flawlessly. I have an existing FW/USB card and I've recently added this USB card for more expandability and they both have worked perfectly.
I have the cards installed in a Mac Pro (Early 2008). They install fairly easily, require no drivers and are well-built. A bit more expensive than other options out there but worth it if you want professional build and reliability."
Pros:
"I purchased it online and placed it my G-5 Tower with no problem.
I connected webcam, 2 printers, 1 scanner and my magicJack w/ inside port.
Installation: Easy as pie.
I have not have any draw back as of yet and do not anticipate any
Great piece of equipment that keeps the wire in the back under the desk
I may get a Tango Fire wire 800 /400 for my external Hard Drives next"
Pros:
"I had to do a little research to find out which brand would work on my (4-year-old) Mac Pro desktop computer.
All the good reviews pointed to this product and the inquiries paid off. Product installed effortlessly and worked without a glitch.
I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to fill one of the empty slots on a Mac Pro, when (as it did to me) it just does not make sense to deal with hubs and wires on the desktop.
So, FWIW you can buy this product with confidence IMHO."
Pros:
"I needed a card to give me more USB ports on my new Mac Pro computer. I have three large format printers that need to be connected and are often all printing sat the same time (files >1GB).
The card would probably give superior performance over a hub, this Allegro card just slotted in and worked with nothing else to do. Just how I like it as anything else could end up in problem resolution!"
Pros:
Cons:
"Windows 7 regonized it right off with out any problems. Simple and easy install and easy to hook up power to the compter. I would highly recomend this product for more USB for your computer."
Pros:
"Purchased to use in a new PowerMac. Installation was simple - plug it in and turn it on... couldn't be any easier. Tested port speeds and they live up to their USB 2 speeds, unlike a couple of previous cards I have tried."
Pros:
Cons:
"Under 10 minutes and it was installed on my Mac Pro.Most bargain cards had reviews about installation problems or poor performance. This is a 5 star card all around."
Pros:
"I ORDERED A LESS EXPENSIVE CARD AND IT DIDN'T FIT IN MY MAC PRO. THE SONNET CARD FIX EXACTLY. IT WORKS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL USB CONTROLLER IN THE MAC PRO."
Pros:
"I needed more USB 2.0 ports on my recently purchased Mac Pro so ordered this Sonnet PCIe card. Install took 10 minutes, and the ports worked as soon as I turned on the Mac."
Pros:

"My Mac Pro only have 3 USB ports in the rear of the unit. 1 for keyboard, 1 for scanner and 1 for Wacom monitor. Leaving me with none for my printers. I was looking for a Mac compatible internal USB card. After all the reading and searching, I ended up purchasing the 5-Port Allegro Express USB 2.0 PCI Express Controller Card by Sonnet Technologies. The Mac Pro pick it up right away with no hassle. It was plug and play, no need to install any drivers. This card is perfect if you find yourself needing a few extra USB ports. Now I can plug my printers in the new USB ports. The Mac Pro also have 2 USB ports in the front, but I only used them for external drives or cards reader or any portable devices. I uses the rear USB ports for more stationary products such as printers, scanner, Wcom Cintiq etc. etc.
The 5-port Allegro express USB pci express card is the perfect choice if you're looking for extra USB ports for your devices."
