Sony 46" BRAVIA S Series Black LCD Flat Panel HDTV

"We use this TV in our living room. Even for a couple of media duds like my boyfriend and I, set up took only about 1/2 hr. Obviously, some channels don't come in clear because they're not broadcast in HD. This is the downfall of any HDTV you buy. Sports in HDTV look amazing though and this specifric TV has GREAT sound!! The speakers point outwards opposed to being hidden and pointing down. The Salesman at ABT (Roland) pointed this to our attention and we thank him. I'd advise anyone who relies on TV sound (vs surround sound, etc) to go with this TV."

"I would have gone with a 40" instead of a 46" if I had known how huge this thing was going to be. We don't need a TV this big, and we had to call a friend with a van to get it home because it wouldn't fit into my car, but we are enjoying it! We just have to rearrange some things so it doesn't look so out of place in our living room..



Best Buy had a higher price listed than Circuit City (online only), but once I figured out shipping for CC, going to Best Buy was actually $50 cheaper. Who knew you'd be able to use grade school math as an adult!?



It was very simple to set up (you need 2 people to move this thing). It took about 30-45 minutes initially to scan all the cable channels, but once it did, we had high def channels we didn't know we would get. They look great!



I hook my Macbook Pro directly in through the HDMI on the back, perfect connection - OS X in HDMI is very sweet. Once I get a PS3 it'll be even more worth it. TV hooked right into the surround sound system in the room with ease (though I don't think it supports true 5.1, it just has L/R stereo). It's a very nice piece of machinery.



Mostly we use it to watch House on Mondays and play movies through my Mac. Very cool device to have; we are definitely happy with it!"

"My intent was to buy a larger screen to replace my 40' Sony. We noticed so many differences after comparing them by watching the same shows side by side.



1) No swivel (which I think most of the newer Sony's don't have anymore)

2) grainy picture - even at a farther distance you could still see the graininess

3) Cloudy picture - even after adjusting the setting etc...the picture appeared so cloudy.



I couldn't find much reviews on this product and decided to take a chance by buying it since it was below $1K. Maybe I'll wait for the more expensive 46' ones to go below $1K that have good reviews.



After returning it, I checked out the others mounted and noticed that some Samsung's were much clearer. But I'll check out the reviews first and do more research next time."

"This tv is good for the family on a budget and wants some quality for there dollar. Nice big screen fills up the room nicely. Sound is good for the 20 watt system in place but I have surround sound doesn't bother me at all. Can't beat the price this tv was 1,300 last year to drop to 830 its a steal."
