"My analog tv died, this replaced it. Nice to have a good picture and good sound. I miss having an onscreen time of day clock and more than that I miss the DTV Electronic Program Guide that my 40$ DTV converter box has. Surprising how often I used those features. Cannot rate reliablilty as I have had it only 1 week...." Read Full Review

"This is my 1st HDTV; I could not be more pleased. I've been reading reviews for 2+ years, continuing to depend on my 20 inch Sony purchased in 1988, while waiting for technology and price to be dedicated to smaller HDTVs. December 2008 Consumers Reports review of 26 inch sets indicated the predecessor, 26L4000, would have been their highest rated if the remote was more user friendly. This TV and the remote make that a non-issue. Their advice to consider a highly rated 720p is right on the mark. It took this 62 year old less than 20 minutes to set up and use. If you are looking for a smaller set, this is the one to buy if you watch daily shows, sports and movies!"

I researched this Sony 26" thoroughly prior to purchasing. It scores within the top of it's class with consumer guides and owners. It's an excellent purchase for both price and functionality.
I live in an apartment of ordinary size. This flat screen is my primary TV. I subscribe to HDTV digital from my local cable provider. The picture quality is quite good in standard definition, and superb in HD. The internal speakers are good, but, I have a small surround sound connected to my Sony 26" for deeper tones and Dolby surround features. Setup and menu functions are easy enough for anyone to navigate well. It also has a DVI port to allow your computer to use it as a monitor (if it has a DVI out port).
Though it may be among last year's Sony models, it's performance remains competitive with any newer models in it's class today... it's price makes it even more appealing. I would also recommend purchasing an HDMI cable for the set, if you have a compatible cable or satellite box, or if you want to add a Blue-ray player to your outfit. And, by the way, Blue-ray looks outstanding in this Sony 26".
As a satisfied owner, I strongly recommend this Sony 26" HD flat screen television to anyone looking for a mid-sized set that does what a quality HDTV should."
"Short Version: Sony L-Series is a good, midrange-quality TV for home location that does not need true 1080P, and J&R shipped it immediately at best possible pricing... I'm fixing to buy this very 26" for our Bedroom.
Long Version: I purchased this unit for Video Lab at work. The goal was to test a cross-section of moderately priced HDMI-capable displays. We also have TW Cable connectivity in this Lab, so I had no choice but to program its TV function as well (Texas-Oklahoma game Saturday!).
I'm well familiar with the Sony On-Screen inferface from my Sony 32S3000 at home, so I knew what pitfalls to remedy. Just be forewarned: Sony Design Engineers did not employ a good Human-Factors person in layout of its IR Remote, nor its On-Screen User IF. Once you familiarize, it's okay, but getting to that point may be asking too much for a non-technical owner. (Read The User-Docs!)"

"I checked out several models for a bedroom replacement HDTV for the older 23" LCD HDTV/monitor i bought 4 years ago as a Xmas present. I made several visits to local electronic big chain stores to compare. When comparing the quality of picture clarity, resolution and sound, I was hooked on Sony....again! i was also pleased that i could move up to a 26" screen and not sacrifice size over the old 23" set. My family room 32" HDCRT Sony continues to provide excellent sound and pix quality. (Fortunately, I've never had to move it.) The only negative is that the old 23" LCD TV provided a swivel capability, both horizontally and vertically at the base, a feature we miss over the fixed stand. However,I would certainly recommend Sony to anyone."
Pros:
"recently bought the 26" Sony Bravia set on sale at my local Sears store.
I would highly reccomend this set.
I didn't want a great big set you mount on the wall living in an average sized apartment. (1 bdrm).
This is my first HD set and experience with HD.
Got it hooked up to HD service about two days later.
I am just overwhelmed with the picture.
I will never go back to regular tv anymore.
I love Sony products, have others (Sony Walkman MP3)
very pleased, so I knew I could trust Sony.
Checked reviews here prior to purchase of this
set and very positive comments.
Get a Sony Bravia set and HD hook up and you'll
be very happy as Me."

Cons:
"It took me an hour (or even less) to get this TV out of its box and into the open ready for digital broadcasts and my PlayStation 3. Since I bought this mainly for gaming, I am very pleased with the performance thus far. Having played Grand Theft Auto 4 and the Resident Evil 5 demo for a solid number of hours, I highly recommend investing in an HDMI cable because the PS3 graphics (1080p!) and sound are buttery smooth on this TV. With the PS3 on one HDMI port (a gaming console AND a Blu-Ray player), I'm still left with two more! I put the "performance" down a notch because sometimes little distortions appear on one or two over-the-air digital broadcasts; I'm not quite sure if the culprit is the TV or the antenna I bought along with it (i.e., an RCA antenna). The only thing that bothers me is the lack of a headphone jack--I am aware of the headphone jack adapters available, but I just can't figure out why a simple feature (and usual mainstay) was neglected. An included swiveling stand would have been nice too (but I could care less about that)."
"This is a great TV. Here's what I look for in a TV these days:
1. Non TN panel that doesn't invert colors when looked at from below. This one passes the test.
2. Reasonably fast channel changing time. This one is good but could be better.
3. Good audio quality. Check.
4. And of course a great picture! And this one has it. It's only 720p resolution but in a 26" set that doesn't matter unless you are going to use it as a computer monitor and that is something I don't suggest with a 720p resolution screen."
Pros:
"I bought this monitor for video editing in final cut pro to edit native 720p. It does just that and is an exceptional, lightweight television. I can move it around with ease and connect three HDMI inputs into this sucker. Not that I would ever need to, but SONY makes sure that ease of use and reliability go hand in hand. Very sleek design and great picture clarity. My girlfriend and I were watching a movie on it through HDMI and we both said at the same time "it looks great...""
Pros:
"Great product! I already knew to expect less than great sound quality due to the small speakers facing down to save overall space and keep the overall dimensions smaller. This is the reason for only 4 stars instead of 5. However, this is why I bought the Sony, as it has 8 watt speakers where the similar Toshiba and other brands only had 5 watt speakers and the sound quality of the Toshiba was much worse!"
