"I guess i am to odd one out here. I paid Best Buy to have it set up and integrated with my home theater because i don't do well with the electronics. Tthe picture is not good, the colors are way too hot, the screen goes almost black when a dark scene comes on. When a live ball game is on the motion is blurred. I am on local cable, so i would think my reception should be good. Even the HD channels are not realist..." Read Full Review

"I really don't have much to say about something that is best of best. I am really enjoying it and am sure who ever buys that TV will enjoy without any question.
THE BEST OF BEST."
Pros:
"While I have two other HD sets, a Bravia LCD and a Pioneer Elite plasma (both three years old) in other locations I actually bought the 52XBR6 to take the place of an old non HD XBR 36" set. I narrowed my decision down to this and the Samsung LN52A650 and I don't think you can really go wrong with either. I ended up choosing the Sony as I needed it to be able to handle a bright room and other reviews mentioned that it was better for bright rooms than the Samsung. Sure enough the Sony is great in the bright room. In fact unless you want to go with the Samsung 950 or with the Sony XBR8 I really don't think you'll find a nicer picture. Viewing angles are amazing. The HD blows away the models from three years ago. Only (minor) drawback is that the sound isn't as impressive as the picture (which I don't think will matter to most as typically you'll be listening to a theater set up with it)."
Pros:
"I can't stop watching my new HDTV. [...]set up in no time. I have it in a bright sunroom and glare is not a problem. My son in law took one look and said it was the sharpest picture he had ever seen on a TV and he is right. I hooked it up to all Sony equipment - BDPS350 Blue Ray disc player and HTS2300 Home Theatre system. Updated my cable service to HD and everything is flawless. I looked at a lot of TV's and did a lot of research. I am happy to say it all paid off in the fact that I feel like I purchased the best TV on the market. Everything enhanced by the fact that Abes of Maine is a fine company to do business with and I am always satisfied with their service. LOVE MY HDTV."

Cons:
"I can write a bunch of product specifics that one can already read somewhere else. Bottom line is that my wife said it best when we finished watching our first Blue Ray movie on it, "I probably would not have went out and spent that kind of money on my own, but now that we have it, I like it".
As the headline read, you get what you pay for and with this said there is little do not like. If I had to provide some criticism for new buyers to be aware of: the pc networking does not seem to be straight forward and compatibility to non-Sony pc's is not a for sure thing. I am still working on setting it up and hopefully I will be able to get it to work with mine. Sony technical support is worthless in trying to help you with it as well.
TV Guide is great on this set which without a cable box or the like, its really nice.
Using the TV to run a picture a slideshow is amazing."

Cons:
"After extensive research and visits to various high-def TV shops, we found the Sony XBR6 to be everything promised and more... The 50,000 to 1 contrast ratio, the "vivid" (yes, it has a vivid setting) makes the colors jump out at you and this unit even adjusts for the light levels in the room. High-def is great, but it is FANTASTIC with the Sony XBR6 model. The front firing surround speakers are a good start, but now we're planning on adding a great Sony Blu-Ray home-theater-in-a-box to go with it. Everybody who sees it is drawn in and parks in front of the screen, making comments like; "Wow! This is cool!""
Pros:
"Where to start...This TV, simply put, is AMAZING! The brightness, clarity and vividness it puts out will blow your mind. You'll never want to watch another TV after this one. Very nice looking as well. Will look good on a stand or a mount. Doesn't come with any HDMI cables so plan on getting them before hand. Something to be aware of...As with most (if not all) large LCD's, standard definition programs look like [*] on them. So bad that you may not want to watch them. With that said, if you're not going to upgrade your programing to HD, then an LCD may not be for you unless of course all you plan on using it for is watching DVD's or BlueRay through it."
Pros:
"Many others have already reviewed this TV enough. If you can afford a few extra bucks, buy the XBR instead of V or W series.Buy the 5 year warranty from Sony [@]. Its [$] in Sony and its much better than others I came across."
Pros:
"This is a great LCD TV. Realistic Colors, Great Looks and Good Black levels for a LCD type TV with a florescent backlight. I brought this 52 XBR6 after some on-line research and some in store viewings at Best Buy. Compared this model to some comparable Samsungs and selected the XBR6 based on less cartoonish colors and sale price. Im pretty picky about my electronics and let me say that my great first impressions of the TV in the store didn't initially translate over to my living room.
Issues #1: The XBR6 Auto Light Sensor. This sensor is meant to detect ambient light and automatically adjust the brightness of the XBR6 so the relative brightness remains constant over different lighting levels. As pointed out in other reviews, this feature reduces the brightness way too much in slightly dim to dark rooms yielding a very dim picture that is too dark to see any details of some scenes and takes away from the bright pop of HD content. Luckily I found that you can turn this off under the general settings and I was a much happier man. I recommend turning the light sensor off!
Issue #2: The Motionflow Enhancer (120Hz) yielded a fake look to films; especially 1080/24P movies on Blue Ray disks. This feature is meant to reduce motion blur when viewing sports and action movies. This feature can be set to Standard, High or turned off for each input on the XBR6. I will admit that the Motionflow Enhancer seemed to reduce the blur on HD broadcast of football games without affecting the overall picture quality. On the other hand, the Motionflow Enhancer washed away the film feel of 1080/24P movies on Blue Ray disks creating a picture that was too washed of the soft tones some films have and movements looked fake and jerky on scenes where the camera pans/spins around the actors. I recommend turning off the Motionflow Enhancer when watching Blue Ray movies and live with the action scenes blurring slightly. To the XBR6s defense, the competitors 120Hz LCD TVs have the same problem.
After shutting off the Auto Light Sensor indefinitely and learing to remove the Motionflow processing while viewing movies on Blue Ray I became much happier with my purchase."
"This Sony 52" LCD product is superb. The installation process was extremely easy to follow for a person that does not have hi-tech skills. I simply plugged in the power cord and connected the cable, and the remaining setup was seamless and simple. And Sony's XBR6 series picture quality is amazing. I compared this Sony 52" LCD picture with other flat panel HDTVs at local stores. The picture is noticeably brighter and has better definition. This was the right choice for us, based upon picture quality, features & price."
